Thanks a lot for this video! I had a so called professional repairman replace front wipers motor assembly and during the process he fuc*ed up and now I have huge gap and the rain water is entering the cabin. I'll try to fix it the using your video as guideline
Hi, thanks for your informative videos, Did you use chekomastik to seal the piece? and also you have removed the 2 side pieces at the begining video and then glue them to the place you removed them with silicone?
Nice videos, mate, thank you. :) A question: it is OK on yours, but do you know how to adjust front gap between upper grill and bumper (next to headlamps) and hood/bonnet? I'm planning to buy a used Fiesta and majority of them have messy or asymmetric gap. BTW, little worried about that, it could indicate some earlier crash?
You are welcome dear friend :-) I have taken out front gril several times but I didn't notice any adjusment between bumper and the grill . They are plastik snap on parts. If you notice uneven gap between them it might be signs of previous accidents (thats generally my method to suspect for previous collisions to observe the gap between body parts such as doors and front fenders+A frame, between hood and fenders etc) Wish you all the best.!!!
Great video i have this problem at the moment. Going to try and sort this with the help of your video. The only thing im not sure is how did you put the panel ends back on as it did not show on your video. Do they just slot back in or is silicone used to keep them in place?
Hi, I'm happy to hear that my video is helpful to you. Silicon adhesive joins the thin strip to the bottom edge of windshield the cowl gril snaps on it, hope this helps :-)
@@handyguy6273 its the plastic corner pieces im asking about that sit on the outside of the trim. You pulled them off on the video after you removed the panel.....sorry if im not explaining right but im a women lol
@@sarahdeley1040 That's clear now, those side corner pieces has about 1 cm extension underneath that enters to the slot to hold them in place, be careful while pulling them out they can easily be broken. :-)
@@handyguy6273 thanks a lot! I have managed to separate from main frame and riassemble without soap. My only "fault" was to not use silicon to glue it to the windshield, but i was worried about future disassembly
Thank you, you don't have to buy any trim piece to do this repair. It is a part of "cowl grill trim" and it is attached to the air cowl grill. It was just loosened from the windshield and I have fastened it to windshield with silicon. If you check, you will probably see that it is already on the car.
Thanks I've got to do mine 53 plate I've plants growing out of mine ....... my spark plugs well have water in them every time it rains hard I have to take the air box off and h d leads off and dry all water off ..
For the spark plug well leaks that could be water getting in via a gap between the the water jets and the bonnet. New rubber seals or silicon can fix that.
Lol I put silicone around everything lets see if the water can get through that... lol F knows how they are getting my window off if I have get crack in it ....
Had the same issue with the spark plugs and that worked for me so hope it fixes your issue. Yeah i don't agree with putting silicon on that as foam tape fixes it lol
mine has had the same problem, theres been a gap in this piece on the windscreen ever since i bought it like ten years ago, never really bothered by it, i'd occasionally pick some of the moss clumps out 🤣 but i think it's caused water to pool on a part under the hood, the side thing that is like a metal dome with a cirlce cout out, with the end of bolts sticking up through it in a circle. Seems a previous owner or mechanic messed with it, as the little side pieces were partly under the middle piece, so i thought that was how they were supposed to go, i've put them back that way, will have to go out and give it a proper fix some time, as thats probably whats causing the water to pool. Also had the same problem with the water getting into spark plugs, and on the main engine, damaging some seals on the engine over time. fortunately managed to get that sorted without having to replace everything. But yeah i couldn't find replacement gaskets for the water jets that weren't a ridiculous price so i just used some clear silicone on the water jets. Seems to be fixed. Only took be ten years to get around to it :P
Nice one mate, got a leak onto my spark plugs which is causing a misfire problem,,,this video is very handy..cheers
I have the same problem. Did you manage to fix it?

What type of silicon did you use?
Black colour, multipurpose adhesive.
Excellent video, thanks for the upload!

SOrry, why do you apply soap at 7:37?
Hi, it is to make ınstallation easy, used it as lubricant. Hope this helps.
