Yup seems I missed that one. I saw pics but couldn’t find the date 🙈
You forgot the roller rink that was there in the early 80’s, that had a roller disco every Friday and Saturday evening. Later they put a roof on it so it could be used more, this leaked and there were many accidents. Also the skid carts, these were peddle go carts that had rollers on the back wheels so you could slide the black out.. Also space station X was indoors and in the dark. And a lot faster than the flying fish.
I saw some pics of the roller disco but couldn’t find confirmation of the date so didn’t include but thanks for letting me know 🙂

I loved Thorpe Park as a child in the eighties, we used to go nearly every year in the summer hols, my absolute favourite ride was phantom fantasia, I remember the moving platform to get on and off the ride and I would get off and run round to queue up for another go!
Awesome. I wish I’d got to experience that ride. 😔
I always ingrained it started bigger than it did. Really good to see the history. Amazing research and video fornat. Cant alot for the 90s. X

Great video Chris. In fact the whole series is getting a watch. Really interesting. I was there the other week and I’m sure the Thorpe Bell is still in the distance on the lake? Also while I was there milling around samurai I did notice some of the tracks from the train still in the ground. Anyway onto the 90’s ☺️

I was never there this far back but its interesting to see how the park started. Those 180 Cinemas were all the rage bsck then, I really enjoyed them at the time.
I love looking back at how the parks have changed. Amazing what 40 years does huh 😉
@@coaster_dad totally, the one I saw it in was Flamingo Land. We went there when I was a kid & it was a farm with a caravan park, now look at it

Loved this video, although you did miss out Windsurfing was also there in 1980 as well!
I did say don't forget anything wy I mentioed a few- could of emailed you the years/dates of everyting that came out lol
Also in 1983 you could pay a couple of pound to trout fish in a concrete pool. You were given a piece of bamboo with string and a hook. A tub of sweetcorn!
+ Roller Skating was from 1983-1990-you could of still included it but read you said didn't know what year in the 80's!
You also forgot in 1983 to show/mention-Hiring out the boats, going on the: Cable Ski Tow!
Another attraction you missed out from 1985- Mr Rabbit Magic Show- Children’s show in the Club House. You must remember that I mean even if you didn't go was always shown on the TV adverts, mentioned on Teletext, Magazines, Social Media etc
You also missed out-the old Crazy Golf course-which was a lot of fun.
And in 1986-Rocky Express opened-which was shown in that 1988 advert you put up but you did mention it near the end lol
You also forgot to say in 1987-New Park Area- European Square opened at a cost of over £2 million.
You did show the Park Rangers and they had writing underneath which went to quick unless you paused it. How comes you didn't mention though-Mr Rabbit was Thorpe Park’s original mascot from the VERY early 1980s - 1988.
In 1989 the park’s new mascots the Thorpe Park Rangers arrived + then as you know Mr Rabbit became a member of the Rangers group.
BTW-not having a go, as I know some messages can come across in different ways 😀

Ha ha. Jeezo. How did I miss so much 🙈😂 a lot of the info was based on two sites so either I missed it from there or they weren’t on those sites. I won’t redo but depending on how much you find in the rest of the series I may need a part two for some of them 😉

I mean even if not on the sites-thought a few of those would be by memory as well as other stuff that has been on social media/TV stuff over the years lol
My fav one was when you didn't mention Rocky Express in the 1986 line-up but then didn't show it till the end saying it was more intense than it was for a kids ride!!!!

@mikekaraoke thorpeparkmania.co.uk memoriesofthorpepark.co.uk were the two main ones but lots of stuff was from other sites as well. What was useful was they had timelines. Given how much you’ve found that I didn’t I can only assume some of it was on those sites and I just didn’t see it 🙈

And the other ones were also on fb groups as well, tthere were a couple I remembered from the year but forgot what month they came out in the season-I like to be really precise lol
