I love to rewatch these lovely videos when I am in need of inspiration and where better to find it ! Here in France we neglect a lot of our important chateaux and houses but in the US you can actually build a whole 'historic' estate from scratch and no one in their right minds would ever mistreat these wonders once built ! Some people could say it has a lot to do with money but it's not really the case as vision and taste are free for open minded curious hard working people because behind these homes goes a LOT of hard work to acquire the means and hard work to see these builds through to completion. Thank you once again. These stir the beauty/classic/depth in , yes, home skiing. Each episode shows the wonder of creating a heavenly home. We can all do it! I once had an 834 sq. ft. home where people came to take pictures. (Please, your tours are marvelous, but the sound is loud, hollow, and off-putting. There are modern techniques in sound that you can employ)

A beautiful house. I enjoy the grand style, though I don't know that I would ever adopt it for myself. Marie Antoinette's chairs are compelling. I wonder how she managed to fit her frocks into them? I suppose the fabric just settled around the arms. Beautiful.

In this short video, Monsieur Couturier reminds me of Maurice Ravel - elegant, fastidious, very controlled, refined, afraid to let loose, dry and spirited.
Robert is indeed elegant and fastidious but he is also very funny and quite spirited!

Funny thing, I never had much interest in money always living around people who cared too much for it but sometimes when I see such a beautiful property I think that maybe I should have cared some more for it, kept some and not been so generous. BUT that would make me a different person who maybe would not see the beauty in life ,,,,

Beautiful homes as always. I can't help but notice the quality of the video and sound doesn't do justice to the houses. Whoever's holding the camera don't present the quality and grandeur of the house. This type of vlog deserves a much more quality production in its video and camera work.
Such beautiful style, and the French comes through. Such classic bones work so well to showcase his special finds, in the house and in the garden. I'm "on the spectrum" (ha ha ha) as a lover of any color from true read through plum. The dining room is wonderful, with the solid chairs and embroidered curtain panels...that color! The black and white floor will still look perfectly stunning in 100 years.
The wallpaper at 1:37 reminds me of Geoffrey Bennison; the magnificent quartz in the background at 2:55 and that delectable rug afterwards make me drool. Don't get me started on the Boxwood garden-I dream of a boxwood garden. I love strolling through nurseries imagining orchestrating such a landscape. His garden reminds me of Anouska Hempel's property, too. (And I love the theme song, I had to "shazam" it, and to my sheer delight I found it (Gliders II from the Thomas Crown Affair soundtrack) It's so spritely and vivacious; always brings a smile to my face and a spring in my step)
The wallpaper is actually Braquenié (Pierre Frey) fabric. And yes, his garden is sublime (we are hoping to film chez Anouska Hempel - shhh)! And while we absolutely loved that music, we have moved on to another that is royalty free!

Jean Marie must have done the fabric walls and balloon curtains.
I bought his 1834 home in new Milford when he and Bruce went back to his place in France.
He did the same fabric walls and curtains in his French bed and breakfast. He left this place fully furnish and the antiques make me crazy, I feel like I’m in the 1800’s. It’s the French gardens that sold me on the place but the antiques have to go.
