    In todays video I put the top 4 tattooable fruit to the test to find the top Fruits to shade with a mag needle. In the end it came down to the Grapefruit and the Honeydew. I enjoyed the Grapefruit more as it felt closer to tattooing real skin then the Honeydew as the Honeydew took shades as well but was very far from realistic in the application. However if you are looking to make a nice art piece on fruit I would say go for the Honeydew as its much much smoother and easier to read. Stay tune for next week as I dive a little deeper into this topic while adding fake skin to the mix to see if fruit is just better over all to tattoo then fake skin.
    Hope you all enjoyed the video and if you did give it up a thumbs up and consider subscribing!!

      Thanks Jose always appreciate your support!! 🤘🙏 Some people like the premade stuff but for me its really easy to just count the drop then add the distilled water. When it comes to fruit the fruit takes the ink WAY WAY quicker then real skin meaning with fruit you need really watered down ink caps in order to get proper shads. Thanks again Jose appreciate you 🤘🙏🤘

    Dave what do you think about using 1201 rl needles...more control or what?

    • @ArtSomething

      I personally dont really like using single needle. I prefer a 1003 rl as I feel it has a bit more strength but thats subjective to each person.

    • @ArtSomething

      @@CHAOS3RDEYE can I ask why you say that? I checked it out and the mast tour pro is much more pricey and the kits arent as well equipped as the romlon, as a complete newbie to tattoo machine quality I'm just curious

    I've been practicing on fruit and fake skin, I'm having issues shading, I've tried multiple techniques and it's always to dark even when I use my lightest which is 2 drops, will it be that dark in real skin or am I doing something wrong

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  2 года назад

      Fruit takes the ink WAY faster then real skin. So best thing to do when tattooing fruit is to take your 2drop and break that down to more diluted caps, with will make it much easier as the fruit wont get to dark to quick. Hope this helps and next weeks video should help as well. Keep at it and Keep Rocking Brian! 🤘🤘

    • @graffics7665
      @graffics7665 2 года назад

      Brian, I had this problem recently but realized if it was human skin, the one or two drop greywash would heal very light like its supposed to. You just have to trust your greywash as long as its made correctly. Fake skin or fruit goes in darker & doesn't heal so it stays dark. Hope this helps

    I think the melon had more variety of tone on camera tbh

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  2 года назад

      I agree but when it comes to actually practicing the grapefruit had more a realistic feel to it, making it better if your looking to actually practice the motion and art of shading. I later found when doing next weeks video that if you use light shades with the grapefruit like I did the honeydew then you really get a well rounded feel as the grapefruit feels better and with light shades makes for a better look. But when it comes to making something cool and being able to present it or see it from across a room or something then I would go with the honeydew for sure. Thanks for your input Heather really appreciate the support!! 🤘🙏🤘🤘🙏🤘

  • @Playswithfire3782
    @Playswithfire3782 2 года назад +1

    If you want something realistic, grab yourself a raw pigs ear from a butcher. You will have to shave it just like a tattoo on a person and pig skin is alot like human skin. I only did it once and tattooed a couple grapefruits. Keep in mind i started 23 years ago and there wasnt any fake skin. Thankfully i was decent from the start and had a friend that was my pin cushion. The pigs ear was much more realistic. Might be kinda gross to some of you but if your going to be a tattoo artist, your going to encounter some pretty bad stuff at some point lol
