Not religious, but this music still moves me. Also, as someone knocking on 70 the sight of these eager young faces so full of promise gives me some hope that this generation may do a better job of running the world than mine has... You are clearly an inspiration to them Anna.
Being both an old organist and an old baritone, I've seen my share of conductors. It's hard to overestimate how much an expressive face helps the performance.
What an arrangement, the whole is deliciously beautiful and through top grade ear phones all the nuances of voice, organ and the conducting can be picked out at will. This is an audio feast. That key change at the end is amazing as it gives a discordant beginning and the wonderfully lulls you in to full harmony, I have never heard the like before. Thank you.
Anna, as with your previous rendition this is again such a hauntingly beautiful choral piece, many thanks to you and all in the choir for your time and dedication in providing us with such a wonderous 4 minutes of serenity x
Why not start your training now😎 I was choirboy in the 50's, stopped singing much until, just turned 70 took up busking with backing tracks on a superb portable HiFi made for the job. I absolutely love it singing songs from the 50's to present day pop and the public are just lovely.. Touch my graphic to hear some.
Anna was magnificent as always but the woman second from the left absolutely stole the show with her angelic voice. As I write this I'm at an absolute loss of words for how beautiful her voice is.
I think she too - might be the same young woman whom "Steals The Show" in the choirs original "Pembroke Carole." (?) "...and as though God's Angels kept company by me that night..."
Wow! 3 hours to write this? Besides the fact that this piece is really, really good, the first question that pops into my head is 'Do you ever sleep?' Bravo to all!
Yeah the performance is sublime, but the candle lighting on the sheet music! Fascinating. The most intriguing part of the video. Well, that and Anna’s “sparkle pants.”
"...Fear not, fear not, for I will save thee/you..." !!! P O W E R F U L L Y Humbling !!! That is also a most righteous chord/note rattling my windows at the end as well. Thank you Anna!
Beautifully done! Love the floating chords over the pedal. Are there ever call for scores or composition competitions for choir/organ pieces? That would be a cool opportunity.
Beautiful. Very modern and authentic at the same time. I guess that if you get to practice and perform music by geniuses a lot your compositions will get soaked with it wether you want it or not. The real way of learning the trade… This could be performed in church or concert setting but it could be used as music supporting dramatic footage as well. Very much of this time. I love it. Thank you.

Someone else posted the specifics of Anna’s version from her website in an older comment below, but here is the longer version from an old hymn book. Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness. Be not wroth very sore, O Lord, neither remember iniquity forever: thy holy cities are a wilderness, Sion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation: our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee. We have sinned, and are as an unclean thing, and we all do fade as a leaf: and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away: thou hast hid thy face from us: and hast consumed us, because of our iniquites. Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know me and believe me: I, even I, am the Lord, and beside me there is no Saviour: and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, my salvation shall not tarry: I have blotted out as a thick cloud thy transgressions: Fear not, for I will save thee: For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Redeemer.
@@noelsouthmoor I think you're right. The Lord as redeemer comes up a lot in Isaiah I read through it all recently. Just can't remember the exact passage. Looks like some is from Isaiah 43

Not everything in the universe is explainable by natural means, that's for sure. Check out the words to this.
I agree
Just proves that you don’t have to be religious to have a “religious experience.” Music frequently does that for the “soul.”
@@bretthutcheson5710 Define "religious"? Plenty of those who opposed Jesus were "religious"!
@@hairyairey Exactly. That’s what I’m alluding to. For your definition I’ll let you check in with Phildxyz up there. He brought it up.
Very ethereal and majestic. The long shots of the church and the sparkles in your pants gives it a very nice atmosphere. Thanks from Canada!!!

That makes perfect sense, especially as this music is so full of expression and emotion.

What a beautiful arrangement; so fitting to such gracious words of Divine promise.
Beautifully sung by the Choir -- thank you! Happy Christmas and best wishes to all this holiday time, from Northern California, USA.

Praise the Lord for music & art. How we will sing all together in the heavens above one day... I can't wait
My Dear Mom left for heaven just before Thanksgiving.

Oh my goodness; how absolutely wonderful. That made me go all wibbly-wobbly.
As a former chorister in the States, I loved the music, the presentation, the setting, and the attention to tone and pitch of this group. Thank you.
