This beautiful anthem by Eleanor Daley was commissioned by my late father, Dr. Thomas Porter, in 1999 in honour of my mother Doreen Porter, a musician, organist, choir director, and Minister of music for many years, in celebration of their 45th wedding anniversary. This is a lovely rendition. Thank you for posting.
I started learning this, this week with my online choir- we were hearing from Eleanor about how each of you daughters had a solo line...Delighted I found this version and your personal anecdote
@@sandragoodey434 that is true. My father had asked that there be an SSAA segment within the anthem for my sisters and I to sing. We were the first to perform it, but nowhere near as beautifully as this choir! This is us: ruclips.net/video/FElAPen1bpA/видео.html. This was at a retirement service for my mother, and she is accompanying the choir on the organ. A very emotional day.
@@heronfood I’m so delighted that you are continuing our conversation!
Here’s a flavour of our choir from last year

I’m sure our founder Mark Strachan and music director Ben England would love to ‘meet’ you and invite you to our online concert featuring this marvellous piece, when we have submitted all our recordings
@@sandragoodey434 I would love that! Please send me a link when you have it, and I will make sure my mother and sisters see it as well.
@@heronfood Will do, when link is published. Concert will premiere on June 11
🎶☺️
Bravo. This is what choir singing is all about. Well executed and controlled. Angelical voices. God bless you guys.. You too Anna
I have listened to this every day for a week now. It really is beautiful. As a Canadian we are so proud of Eleanor Daley and so happy her work is now becoming standard repertoire across the pond.
This is so moving and,for me, cathartic. Sublime artistry with technical skill.
Echoes of the Angels of heaven 🙏❤
How exquisitely beautiful this is. Beautiful harmonies and sensitive singing.
Absolutely stunning Anna :) I hear good things about your music. My dad is a porter at Pembroke. :) x
Exquisite balance and blend...and understated artistry of Anna Lapwood!
that is so overwhelming - thank you very much for everything you show us on the net.
I first became aware of you through the organ recital with Richard McVeigh.
You are absolutely convincing in everything you do. Please keep it up. Thanks for your videos Anna.
Excellent. Anna is so talented. Also beautiful with her glasses on; then she takes them off.
Really lovely. Beautiful sound. 😊
Just beautiful
What a beautiful recording! thanks for sharing!
This is ravishing. Impeccable. Haven’t heard this masterpiece since 2011 I think, and vibrating back with it through your wonderful performance has made me very happy.
Lovely melody and effective use of harmony. Particularly liked the descant on the repeat. Very well crafted . Excellent conducting Anna!
Absolutely beautiful.
Gorgeous! ❤️
Just bought and listened to the whole CD and this is a highlight. Lovely choral sound and so good to see such a youthful ensemble. Beautiful!
Love it 🥰
Beautiful
Exquisite.
Beautiful singing. As with Norbert I first heard you on Richard Mc Veighs channel. Since then I have googled you & am following your channel.
Very touching, listening to it brings freedom and soothes so much, thank you!
Hi there! This is a beautiful rendition of "Set me as a seal"! Fantastic job. I am the president of the Magnificat Choir of the University of Notre Dame, and we are singing a different setting of these lyrics, but this version is special in my heart. I would love to sing it in our choir, but I can't find the sheet music anywhere. Is there any way I can find this piece and try to work with Eleanor Daley to compose a SSAA version for our all women's choir? Or was this setting commissioned specifically for your singers? Thanks so much!

This is truly amazing!
Very tight knit group. Bravo
So beautiful 👌🙏
Wonderful. Heard it for for time at choral evensong at Jesus College Cambridge last week
Is it ok to have listened to this twice in the space of 24 hours?
wow
👍👍👍
Overall beautiful but half minute from 2:00 is breathtaking.
Ethereal
Lovely, phraselike flowing. Make sure they don't look up on the high notes. Better to look down!
