In these ‘troubled times’ music and performances like these are the balm, comfort and hope of our days; reminders of how beautiful harmony is and how discord can be so ugly.
But I would stress that it's not JUST the music; it's to whom the music is orientated - our eternal God. He is the balm, the comfort and the solution to our troubled times.
Indeed! We dont need to believe to God, to find comfort hope and peace in this gorgeous music. But, in fact, it depends on the circumstances we get in and the troubles we face. Sometimes, the music is not enough. And God, is not there to believe in Him, but to run to Him, to find rest.
Thank you for your reply in French , my first language. I am descended from French Canadians. :Like you, I thoroughly enjoy this music. Please stay safe and take care. 🥰😀
I am lifted to a higher place when I hear VOCES8 and this is as wonderful as harmony and beautiful voices could ever be. What a gift to hear, especially in these trying times we are living in. Thank you VOCES8 for the gifts you bring to us all.
Three female and five male voices is I think the most satisfying make up of Voces8 to date, with Barney's incredible countertenor as the pivot. We make sure we see them each year in the UK. Their rendition of "London by night" with this lineup is not to be missed.
I got to see this group live in Alexandria, Louisiana, USA. It was a life-changing experience. We were less than 15 feet from the stage for a 2 hour concert with a meet-and-greet afterwards and it really could not have been any better.
Their performance of this piece has been my alarm clock song for many, many years. I highly recommend it be yours too if you want to wake up to a choir of angels!
Beautiful phrasing, very tasteful cadenza and rhythm oscillations, sibilants, dynamic and timbar executed in immaculate balance and with ease- this is what people colloquially understand as "angelic" or "ethereal". Masterfully done, it was a pleasure to listen. This is art. Thank you.
Voces8, you are by far my favorite choral ensemble for liturgical music. Thank you for the beauty and charism you bring to you work. I will continue to share these videos with others and hope for the day I may see you perform in person. God bless you all.

I‘ve sung this masterpiece of choral composition myself and know it very well. Hearing it in such perfection makes my day. Intonation, interpretation, musical expression in an extraordinary performance. Thanks, guys! And not to mention the sound engineer bringing it to life for us hearing it not live but online ;-)
Finally!! I have sung this numerous times in different choirs, and conducted it in my own one and every time it got me goosebumbs. So nice to hear it from Voces8 too!!
I got to perform this in Carnegie Hall with Ola Gjielo on piano improvisation and his wife Dr. Irene Messoloras conducting. I met both of them, it was a life changing experience. ❤
We cannot wait to hear you in the Portland OR area on March 7. For seven years your music has comforted me through the death of my late wife, and has been something my new wife Mel and I have bonded over. Thank you, thank you.
“Where charity and love are, there God is” ❤ This song and the harmony 🤌 It pierces down to my soul with a sweet painful yearning but also a filling sense of calm! Such a beautiful duality🥲
English Translation: Where charity and love are, God is there. Love of Christ has gathered us into one. Let us rejoice in Him and be glad. Let us fear, and let us love the living God. And from a sincere heart let us love one. Where charity and love are, God is there. At the same time, therefore, are gathered into one: Lest we be divided in mind, let us beware. Let evil impulses stop, let controversy cease. And in the midst of us be Christ our God. Where charity and love are, God is there. At the same time we see that with the saints also, Thy face in glory, O Christ our God: The joy that is immense and good, Unto the World without end. Amen.
L’une des plus belles pièces polyphoniques de tous les temps…. Et quelle magistrale interprétation !! Les voix si justes, l’émotion si sensible, la prise de son si exacte et la prise de vue, la lumière… tout est parfait ! Tout! Wahou!
Exquisitely performed (and recorded). I met Voces8 after their world-premiere performance at Stanford University of Christopher Tin’s “The Lost Birds”. They are sensational (and are quite funny when they perform bee-bop!).
3:43 AM. I found it hard to sleep after hearing you incredibly gifted people tonight in Nashville at St. George’s Church. Each of you has an enormous talent to hear, think, and contribute to the ensemble. Thank you for pooling your musicianship to make VOCES8 the finest singing group in the land. Andrea, I’m in ❤ love!
Durufle’s setting has always been my favorite, but after singing this a couple of times with my choir it’s growing more and more on me. Your rendition here is, as always, perfection.
It was a wonderful experience to be able to sing with Voces8 yesterday. I will miss the collaboration. What an honour to hear you guys perform! Voces8 will forever have a special place in my heart. Big thank you to Paul and everybody!
Perfect entry and stop timing, perfect holding of breath, perfect synchronization of pronunciation and volume, how long did they practice to achieve this 😳
I appreciate the beautiful long phrases and how you approach the subtle dissonances. The control over the dynamics is more than impressive. You guys have such great technique; you can do anything you imagine.
The Grateful Dead 🌹 was my favorite band for forty years, and they are gone. Now, voces8 🫖 I can say without hesitation is my favorite "band." I am spellbound. Greetings from Western Oregon.
I don't know which is more gorgeous -- your harmonies or your unison. Perfection is rare in this world, but this is it.
Latin is not perfect...it sounds like French speaking English or the other way, a bit odd...Da vero!
Every country has its own rules on how to pronounce Latin in singing. Imho there is nothing odd about this.

Voces8 has one disadvantage: once you heard them perform a piece you won’t like any other version
Citation from the text: "And may we love each other with a sincere heart". Wonderful music and wonderful VOCES8.

Awesome! I am seeing them next week in Portland, OR with my widowed mother and we both can’t wait to experience them live.
Hope you have a delightful time! I am jealous:-)@@cpjds1
Oh wow! I live in Ruston! I would love to be able to hear them live!
Holy Mo! Lucky you. This is what life is about (among other things, but largely, this).
What a blessing ❤
Found you guys when I was in high school and have been hooked ever since. I'm now a professional singer. God bless you all
Such an unagitated, heavenly harmony. Greetings from Germany
From the States- glad this is popular in other nations! I just now heard it, and I think I understand why!
Their performance of this piece has been my alarm clock song for many, many years. I highly recommend it be yours too if you want to wake up to a choir of angels!
One of my favorite sacred pieces, performed flawlessly as always. Exquisite.
