Buying a used Mercedes S-class (W221) - 2006-2013
If you've never been in a CL b4, even a bad riding one will feel like magic. That's just how good they are, so take someone with CL experience along with you when you go to buy one used.
Purchased a 07 CL63 a couple of month ago. Had a lot of stuff to fix.
I daily drive my CL550/500 2009, 9 thousand miles these last 5 months. Something to look out for is a crack in your radiators at around 90K miles. Get it handled quick because that crack ruined my alternator. 2300 USD in total. Still a sexy coupe and incredibly comfy. Sitting at 97K miles and no mechanical issues :)
Personal experience
I’ve just purchased a 2009 CL 500 with 77000 and a full history . The car was due a service when I purchased the car a few weeks back so I booked it into a local Merc specialist shop I’ve used on my previous mercs and asked them to not only service the car but check the car out fully making sure there’s no issues the bill ended up just a little of £600.00 with a arm replacement where I could hear a slight rattle upon driving over uneven surfaces .
I prefer prefacelift. More elegant
One of my favorite channels keep it up
Folks need to keep in mind that these cars cost over $100k when new. The CL65 started around $200k. So the repair bills will be very nice. Doesn't matter if you get a low mileage one, parts will fail over time. I would choose a 10 year old car with mileage over 80k miles over a 30k miles. A high mileage one would usually have many parts replaced if it has been serviced regularly.
the best s class coupe ever. And maintenance is not too much expensive. new ABC with compresor cost 2k USD in parts,
Very informative piece. The comments add the icing on the cake.
A very good guide!
I absolutely love your videos man! Keep them coming. Would you ever do a video about the Mercedes-Benz CLK W208?
Thanks for the nice and infomational Video!
Ma dream car, hope to get one someday
Great video. I was looking at a 2007 the other day.
great vids man
Nicely done sir, I would add that certain models had serious problems with the timing chain balance shaft. It is my understanding it associated with the V6 and V8 motors of certain year Mercedes-Benz. Suggest that the potential buyer research the car thoroughly and GET a Pre Purchase Inspection.
Thanks for the video
