Sooooo excited for this game. This was the thing I wanted to see most, and we got it so early during E3. Everything else has felt lackluster afterward, no matter how good it actually was.

Sekiro is 95% Tenchu with just a new name.

Nioh doens't play like dark souls, it just has the same checkpoint system, it's more onimusha/ninja gaiden.
Miyazaki is directing it so this should be one hell of a ride.

When I saw From Software and Activision I really really thought this was going to be Tenchu, not sure what's the status of the IP now but this surely looks like a spiritual successor
Coming to this comment from the future! You might already know this by now, but it's since come out this started life as a new Tenchu game, but eventually grew to become its own thing.

It's awfully telling about Nioh when whenever someone says Sekiro is like Nioh, it's only because both take place in Japan and are souls-like action games. That's it. Who even remembers the spirit animals anyway? Who remembers hiding on walls and using a grappling hook in Nioh? lol

The game was originally just gonna be called Sekiro but Activision liked the "Shadows Die Twice" phrase from the teaser so much they asked From to include it in the title.

Nah this is more reminiscent of TENCHU or NINJA BLADE. but i don't expect most casual gamers or new from software fans to even know what those are.

kronosleblu888 yes because I'm a "casual" gamer despite gaming my entire life. Only reason I instantly thought of bloodborne is due to alot of the animations looking similar to bloodborne, well that and bb is my favorite game fromsoft has released. And for the record I have played tenchu wrath of heaven and a few of the other games in the series. Haven't heard of ninja blade though.
wrath of heaven? wow we have a legend here. you have definitely been around the block. thats probably my favorite tenchu game. rikimaru and ayame had different campaigns and the combat was so tough challenging and brutal. tenchu z was rather mediocre though and that was the last time from software touched tenhcu.
Ninja blade is really good though. its exactly like sekiro game play wise it seems from the trailer.

I own Nioh and I've really tried to get into it, but I can't. It's missing that souls atmosphere.
MaxCovington543 Its because despite all the articles calling it a souls game, Nioh is going for something much different while taking some inspiration from Dark Souls. Really the more you play it the more incomparable they get.
I fucking love Nioh, and Dark Souls. But i dont need every game to be a souls game or nioh game. If that makes sense

No way. Nioh's move set was limited in the worst, cheapest way possible that made it comparable to Mirror's Edge Catalyst's system, where it just cut a lot of essentials for the sole sake of progression. Not only that the game's challenge relied too much on you being the most incapable entity there. The instant you go 2 elements, low stance as sword or learn the block attack with the sickle and chain, you win because you can infinite combo until you run out of stamina(Ki). Something you cannot easily get away with in Dark Souls or even Bloodborne.

RayDae Ghost of Tsushima seems to be going for a somewhat realistic setting, or at least that's the impression the first trailer and setting gave me. Which is kinda boring honestly.
This looks like straight up fantasy with a Japanese aesthetic, which is way more interesting imo.
