I’ve had a squeezing sensation around my throat. Around my Adams Apple. I’ve had an endoscopy and swallow test. All normal, but I am being choked everyday. 24/7 for 6 months. This sucks. I have been ocd in researching and stressed. Stinks for sure.
Offering you so much empathy 🙏 I know what a horrible feeling it is 🥺 If you are looking for support with ocd I would really recommend reaching out to ocd recovery - phil@ocdrecovery.com they offer worldwide coaching and have helped me immensely with the cycle of ocd. Stay strong, you’ve got this 🙏✨
@@dizzydean I’m thinking mine is stress related. I went on a week long vacation and it almost disappeared. As soon as I got back home, I had this choking sensation again. It seems to come and go. Or maybe I just don’t notice it. It’s still a mystery for me.
Thank you so much for making these videos! I too am dealing with this very issue. Did you feel this sensation when you bent your head or move your head which repositions the neck? I feel it in there when I bend my head down to look at my phone (for example). The sensation is not consistent, more intermittent. Thank you for any advice that you can give as well.
Thank you for posting an update video Lesley! You give lots of insight and so much hope to us all experiencing this. I'm curious if this sensation has caused you or anyone else to experience tickling, coughing, mucus and trapped air in the throat as well? I had an ENT scope my throat and he said everything looked completely normal. He didn't even see any redness or swelling to indicate reflux. I'm still in this battle of trying to understand whether I do have something wrong such as acid reflux and whether this can cause choking (I have a phobia of choking). But I find the symptoms go away when I'm calm, distracted, or sleeping. The problem is, I can't calm down because I am always worried about when the symptoms will come on again. I think I need to approach things from the ocd perspective as I'm confident that this is what I'm struggling with.
i get trapped air in my throat that seems to be the cause of the sensation. the throat gurgles as well. im having this bad lately myself, started maybe a couple weeks ago. lotta mucus clearing and swallowing as well
Thanks for sharing. I have same feeling brought about my acid reflux last Dec 2023. I feel no heartburn anymore but the lump sensation on my throat persist. I undergo full abdomen ultrasound, complete blood test , endoscopy, colonoscopy and laryngoscopy . And all of them are normal. I am just trying to drink ginger tea and managing the symptoms like ignoring it permanently.
@@CraigMorrison-e4d since november 2023, underwent everything. I must say since July 2024 finally every month the feeling gotten lesser and lesser. Nowadays it is still there, but now I can live with it more. Very very strange feeling.
The other night, I woke up grasp for air because I was having a weird dream and felt the tension of this sensation in my throat. This isnt the first time of being having health anxiety dreams, and it is to the point where now I feel the sensation as if I swallow something in my sleep, but I know I didn't. I thought I strained my voice by singing to which I was exhausting it lol wasn't bright of me, but now I have a strong sense it is from the stress because I have been under extreme distress but been using binaural beats and journaling, but my body and health has taken a toll this past year. Now I have a small lump in my throat that brings a bit discomfort but not enough to go to the doctors yet. Eating and drinking has loosened it up and then there are moments where it feels like it is not even there. So, the symptoms fit what I am experiencing to a T. I am scared because I am trying my best to reduce my stress and anxiety even though I have been having weird dreams lately. I am going to try to listen to thretawaves every day and up my meditation sessions so that I can ease my mind before I take action for talk therapy or may see a professional to help me further. My anxiety symptoms hasn't gotten this physical, so this is scary. Thank you for your shared experiences, and remedies
@@CraigMorrison-e4d Mines cleared up within a few days to week. It shrinks, but I suggest not to think about it as it stems from mental distress. Eat and drink as you normally would, for it'll loosen the muscles within your neck (soft foods, soups, tea, and definitely water) helped my case together with binaural beats, steamed showers, and rest. I suggest trying these remedies, for it might help. It'll take a couple of days maybe a few weeks, but it'll shrink overtime.
@@CraigMorrison-e4d Alcohol is not advised for you'll be prolonging the issue because your throat needs to heal especially if stress is the cause and from the time length of your experience.
I have had mine for 6mth and keep tasting either a metallic taste or blood. Had several tests which have been clear apart from mild dysmotilty and a possible Barretts disease which the doctor said has nothing to do with the swallowing sensation and now doctors say they can't do anything to help. I'm getting on with life but is really getting me down and I can't find any relief only when sleeping. It's helpful to hear others struggle with this and not only me. I've tried speech and language exercises, massage, singing, antacids, neuropathic meds, painkillers, anti inflammatories, Chinese medicine, rekei, changing diet and its not for going. Any other tips would be appreciated.
Sorry to disturb you and be a bother, have your symptoms eased by any chance? Looking for a bit of reassurance as both NHS and private doctors have just discarded me and told me I’m okay. When I’m clearly not.
Hope mine goes away. It's just unbearable. Constant throat sensation except when sleeping, eating and drinking. Normal Endoscopy. Seeing ENT specialist in few weeks. Certainly doesn't help when I have underlying anxiety.
