I think you're referring to Berry Oakley, didn't Lamar write this bassline on Brothers & Sisters album. BTW Thank God for Jason's videos! I bought Jason's transcriptions, "BEST INVESTMENT YOU"LL EVER MAKE!"
Incredible cover dude! The bass in this song, as with most songs, is underrated, yet so important to the drive. People give all credit to the lead guitar open this song. It is a great lead, but the bass is what really drives it. Great job!
Wow, its finally here . Been needing to learn this right . Cant read tabs . i learn by ear and the bass part gets lost in the mix in spots. Now i can see how its played! superb job ! Thank You.
If you are talking about that long guitar solo near the end of the song - Totally Agree! It's D---G---A---C---D---F#---G---A---B--> up to the D walk down repeated lick.
Thank you very much and well done for your bass playing! You put a nice Lamar Williams picture at the beginning. Thank too for that. He was a very great bass player.
Seen all the bass covers of this song, played along on bass myself. I think yours is the best cover of this amazing bass part. Very nice clean playing. Do you think Lamar used a pick?
I am going to be working on this one for a long time, but it’s a bucket list thing for me so….off I go! 🎶 Seriously appreciate the effort that went into this one! Incredible! 💜
Lamar Williams & Tommy Caldwall was Hao I learned to play bass..Wore out a many a record learning there licks..They were miles apart in there approach but both fantastic bass players...Don't forget High Falls instrumental..Another Dickie Betts classic with Lamar Williams on bass.
I was figuring on doing a cover of this tune with me playing all the instruments and then I saw this bass line tutorial... oh shit! I was so focused on the guitar and piano I hadn't been paying attention to the bass, that's tough. Great job on this Jason.
Many of these great Allman Bro tunes are quite the "workout"! LOL. Well done! I had no idea Herbie Hancock had his hand in on writing this one:) Fun fact,
I swear the bassist in this band is secretly the greatest bassist in all of rock.

Wow never realized how busy their bassist was. great job!!!

Great song for a bass guy. I've been trying to learn it by playing it at half-speed. Written by Herbie Hancock? Wow!

Did Berry Oakley write this bassline?
Berry had already passed. Its lamar Williams
Just great playing and transcription, but you miss the trademark end fill of Lamar in the A section in the original Bros and Sisters recording, ho-ho
Excellent job!
