What’s the most frustrating part of the job search process for you? Have you ever been ghosted by a company after an interview?

I understand everything you are saying, and I don't mind if they don't send me the rejection email when I don't go pass through the prescreening. But I have a better one for you. Basically, I got a positive feedback for my first interview and I was scheduled for the second one with the CEO (early stage start up). Allegedly, the interview was supposed to be yesterday at 10:30 AM via video call. 9:45 AM I got an email saying they weren't available to hold the interview. 45 minutes notice and no further details about the reschedule. I mean.............................I feel they found the right fit over the week, and it didn't make sense to go through additional interviews even though they were already scheduled. Great.

I totally get your frustration-being canceled last-minute with no follow-up is disheartening, especially after getting positive feedback. You're probably right that they had another candidate (likely further along in the interview process) that potentially they have an offer out to. Unfortunately, startups tend to cut other candidates loose when they've zeroed in on a candidate they want to hire. They should have follow-up regardless. While it’s tough, I'd suggest following up to see if there’s a new interview time or if they’ve decided to go in a different direction. Sometimes asking for specific feedback will help get a response. Stay positive-something better is on the horizon!
