@@paddie3698 The current one already makes my room noticeably hot, so I'd say no thanks. :) And I like the Asus build (good cooling, design for longevity, well tested, factory OC, and also very importantly: 2 HDMI ports).
It's just a GPU you probably not even going to see it most the time besides on its sides to me GPU looks is very irrelevant what I care about is cooling solution efficiency.
I like this type of video, man. Nostalgic format, from the way most other tech RUclipsrs became what they are today. It's still great to give that extra detail to help people make informed, rather than impulsive purchases.
This format is always great, and having them slotted in somewhere in your RUclips cycle is always welcomed, and I mean that positively, because your other videos are top notch too mate !
Where I live this card costs only $30 more than the cheapest RTX 2060, while it costs $150 less than the cheapest RTX 2070 and $300 less than ROG STRIX 2070, so I went with this card.
Lucky, where i live this costs 130$ more than a Gigabyte or Gainward RTX 2060

I was wondering this myself. The speeds he was quoting sounded like baseline. Heck, I just installed the GPU tweak software and haven't actually messed with any of the settings manually. Just shoved it into gaming mode and it's -averaging- 2k plus. Saw it hit 2100 at least once. Know there's a good chance of 'silicone lottery' but still... I've benched it in a few apps and compared it to posted averages... Mine's performing as well as a typical 2070 stock (I realize it can be overclocked) while costing significantly cheaper....

I absolutely love my Strix 2060. Bought it to replace a defective Vega 64 and couldn't be happier. On an average day with my OC it can hit as high as 2100mhz at the start, but after a few minutes and in real world testing - I average about 2040-2060mhz in Warframe until it hits 70c and drops to 2020mhz but hasn't ever gone below that. Had some people give me flack for turning my back on RTG/AMD but after three cards with problems in a row, ending with a flat out defective Vega 64 (with those oh-so-wonderful black screen/video loss issues) I can't be bothered to give them a 4th chance, especially when I got something as nice as this as my first card back with Nvidia.
Was $400 painful for an x60 class video card? Yep. But it hurt a lot less knowing I spent $400 on something that actually works...
Just bought this for 379 euros from sale. The cheapest rtx 2060 you can get where I live is priced at 369 so pretty sure I made a good deal
Now everyone knows how screwed we are in South Africa. The only gpu worthwhile was the Rx 570 and Rx 580. All Nvidia gpu prices are jacked up

In the UK, the strix 2060 is about £130 more expensive than the cheapest models and almost on a par with the 2070. Maybe it's cheaper elsewhere, but I can't see who's going to buy one!

i bought a FE RTX 2060.. they did a good job on its design.. thermals are ok around 70 at full load i was playing anthem in 1080p ultra at around 60FPS and these cards seem to ramp up the frequency on their own mine went up to 1932MHz but couldnt hold so it auto dialed back to 1870 when i was gaming . pretty neat. i would have bought ASUS if it dint cost like 760 USD in my country. yes its like 10 dollars less than a FE 2070 in my country.. Nvidia FE 2060 costed me 415 USD.
Id rather compromise one or Two graphic settings that I dont really need or notice by setting it from max to Medium to get additional 20 FPS then to pay hundreds for 3-5 FPS
Video shows 1440p, you probably can squeeze 10-20fps on 1080p tweaking settings and overclock as well.
Legend has it that if you leave your old GPU under your pillow at night, the shaggy ferry will replace it with an rtx card that will self destruct after a week of use.
I am curious to see if anybody will put 8gb of vram on a non reference 2060.

Probably the VR storm is settling down according to ASUS, hence no more VR socket...
Mine clock over 2100mhz and is just as fast as an GTX1080 in 1080 and 1440p. Only reaches 63 dergrees celsius with under 40% fanspeed.
At 85% fanspeed it is 55 dergrees celsius. It is the best 2060 made! And the NEW drivers makes it faster with Raytracing on. So over 60fps with RTX.
Makes it for and low/High end machine and totally silent. The bigger models wont be silent unless watercooled.
I got a Gigabyte rtx 2060 (65$ cheaper than the ROG here) averaging 1995mhz-2010mhz temps 60-62c

I just bought my RTX 2060, the gigabyte OC for R6,200, direct conversion to USD makes this an awful price over there at about $440
Considering the closest direct price bracket card is a 1660 ti at about $420 this was a no brainer. Even the 1060 6GB is going for $370.
Thank you South africa for FINALLY getting some cheaper stock on newer tech and I cannot wait for it to drop on my doorstep!
These are currently so overpriced now in 2021 but its like I might just get one anyways because who knows when we will get any new gpu's.

Here in the UK you can get a premium priced msi gaming x 1660 TI for >£300 but why would you do that when you can go straight for a 2060 at that point. It doesn't make sense to why you would price a card close to another card that's one generation up and gives better performance for value.
R8,000 is about $568 USD which makes sense for a 2070. That's a way overpriced 2060 though, our pricing is about $410 for that model so it should cost about R5,772 not R8,000 that's ridiculous.

I'm Safrican living in Canada and just picked this card up for $560 CAD. In SA everything IT related is overpriced due to all those taxes they slap on. As a Safrican being used to being ripped off by costs in SA it is pure IT heaven over here.

USB C has been quoted (last I checked) at around $4 per unit, or like $3 for bulk for decent ones. Why pay that when you can just not?

Pricing the Strix 2060 at the same price as the 2070 is one of those things you do for the possibility of stock shortages I guess. Or to take advantage of parents buying cards for their kids who dont know any better. Also, if you consider the fact that you get both games with the 2070 and only one with the 2060 it is a really bad deal. Maybe go stand outside the shop doors waving a bell and wearing a sign will set things right?

Like others pointed out, in my country the 2070 is at least $80 more and I wasn’t willing to spend that much given how this card is only $30-40 more than the other 2060 models. And honestly it’s a pretty damn good card for playing in 1080 which the video doesn’t showcase because it focused on 1440

I would like it if you did more gpu reviews. Maybe even reviews of rarer models that are not a well known it america or europe, if you can get your hands on them and of course only if they just work
well I got a 1080Ti... I don't want to downgrade. And even with 2080 at similar performance, I still can justify purchase.
The ultimate and defnitely the most expensive. I think ROG thinks their products are made of gold because their products are always 150% the price of the competitors.

you can get an Inno 3D RTX 2070 for $730aud but then they jump to $800aud
The Asus Strix version of every graphic card is the best
though generally overpriced. But, when on sale, they well worth it. Cool, relatively silent, reliable. And if someone is patient, can get them for kinda generous prices.

Msi gaming z version is better for overclock as it allows a stable oc making it like 10-15 FPS boost and rog strix has better cooling but less better oc
Where I live, this card is 25 USD cheaper than the cheapest 2070. So while it's not quite as bad as South Africa, it still doesn't make any sense.

I just got the Strix because I already have a motherboard made by them so its less rgb software I have to download. Sounds stupid but ehhh. Also, those fans are so big and high quality.
wow that disappointing I have a Palit Gaming pro oc and I've put a 45mhz over clock on the core ( using Msi afterburner) ( no power limit change ) and I get boost of 2020mhz to 2040mhz and 1860mhz standard and cost £100 less.
