I'm not the biggest Johnny Cash fan. I respect him and I understand his status in music history, but his songs dont reach me like Willie, Hank or Waylon.
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters sounds like it would fit REALLY well in Dexter. Hell, i wouldn't be surprised if it actually appeared in Dexter at some point.
I love Cars by Gary Numan simply because I am a huge sucker for synth-pop from the 80's. I know it came out in '79 but it does sound like an 80's song.
That piano was beautiful, my grandfather used to play Brahms as he waited for my grandmother to get ready to go out dancing, he’d wait for her to be walking down the stairs and start playing and singing Roy Orbison Pretty Woman then effortlessly go back to Brahms. So classical played well has always had a special place with me
YOU FINALLY REACTED TO THE 2nd PIANO CONCERTO!!! YESSS! One of my favourite ever pieces of music. If you have time, listen to the entire concerto, all three movements. Just in your own time, not just on SSF.
ngl your review of that gary newman track killed me, you said all the things i've been thinking for years. but, honestly, i love this song for the fact that it's so terrible, weirdly happy high school memories that are tied to it, and of course that dumb ass mighty boosh scene in the best episode they ever put out. but yeah, i was laughin through most of this and i gotta thank you for that cause today was a day from hell and this was the first genuine smile i got to break
I uses to wonder why nickleback was so hated. Then i was on an offshore fishing trip, and the boat owner played a whole nickleback playlist. 80 miles out and no escape. Same key...same meter, same chords...same...same...over and over. I was already sick and wanted to jump off the boat into 2000 ft of water.
Idk if you know this or if you’ll see it but the Scissor Sisters were killers in Ireland, the song I Can’t Decide is about the murder, makes sense considering it was released a year after they were convicted.
Who is Gonna Be The One - Jinjer. Live version uploaded by Napalm Records ideally but if you can only do studio versions that's all good, love your content bro 🤘
One of the theme's from the Rachmaninoff piece sounded very familiar from a 70's singer-songwriter love song. It took a minute but it's "All by Myself" by Eric Carmen after he went solo from The Raspberries.
But Mike, Gary Numan is one of the pioneers of Electronic Music. I have a friend who also hates the song Cars, but she loves his new stuff. You would “probably” tolerate his newer stuff, but since you’re super picky with your choices of music, I doubt it.
Been watching a fair few of your videos as of lately and you're honestly a refreshingly honest individual and you provide a lot of great content. Keep up the good work my dude. I'll chip in with Private Investigations by Dire Straits. Would love to see your analysis on it.
Hey Mike! If you liked the contrast between the dark lyrics and the happy melody of " I can't decide" i think that checking out "The Montain Goats" may be worth it, they have that same vibe on a lot of their songs, even though they're more of a folk band. The lead singer' s voice is really unique, so it can sound either annoying or endearing depending of the person who listens to it. Their music is very lyric oriented at times (and by "at times" i mean most of the time), so the instrumentals are quite simple (with a few exceptions here and there). Despite all of this, i still love them and i can't fully explain why, so i would be really glad if you gave their music a try and gave your opinions. Love your content and objectivity. Keep it up, man!
Loving the use of a little Chopin as a necessary cleanser after having to deal with They-who-shall-not-be-named™! :) Who would be sadistic enough to ask a professional music snob to listen to them anyhoo?!
Mike, if you don't know already - those half-step walks from 12:17-12:25 -- Eric Carmen was inspired to use in his song "All By Myself". We stand on the shoulders of musical giants, even John Williams knows that! That's why he brilliantly steals from the Classical greats ;)
I've listened to quite a few Nickelback songs and if I was to choose what was the best then it would be the heavy stuff cause their acoustic/country/Ballad stuff is nails on a chalkboard
I like this format only criticism I have is maybe attenuate the music slightly when you talk (if you can) also compared to some of you're other videos it feels like you're hiding behind your mic more and talking to your other screen instead of us. ROCK ON!
Id love to hear you break down Kate Bush... i breakdown music similarly but lyrics mean a lot to me. I actually had an argument with a musiciaan yesterday who doesn't care about lyrics much so interesting to hear that from u as well. Maybe it's the male/female sides of our brains..?
I would really like it for you to listen to Nickelback's Curb because it's honestly better than some of the hits they have now. I honestly don't get how shit like If Everyone Cared or Trying Not To Love You become such a big hit. You want bottom of the barrel Nickelback songs, listen to the album No Fixed Address.
You don’t like Nickelback damn I didn’t see that coming
One thing i'll give Nickelback. They've openly admitted they're just in it for the money, so at least they're honest about it.
If Rachmaninoff was rock, would it be Rockmaninoff?
SABATON - "NIGHT WITCHES"
Amazing song
Queen - Innuendo
I really thought you would like Nickelback but I was wrong
I'm not the biggest Johnny Cash fan. I respect him and I understand his status in music history, but his songs dont reach me like Willie, Hank or Waylon.

Exodus - The Toxic Waltz
You need some thrash in your life man.
This coment gave me a boner
That song and Blacklist are so fun. Love old Thrash bands like them and Toxic Holocaust.
Love that song
Not a fan of the vocals.
@NBHC7 agree!!!!! exept for Paul Baloff's Vocals on bonded by blood.
I kinda like them caise they fit the music imo...
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters sounds like it would fit REALLY well in Dexter.
Hell, i wouldn't be surprised if it actually appeared in Dexter at some point.
Omg I was thinking the same 😂
I just woke up half my hotel laughing at your commentary on The Cars!!!!😂😂😂
When listening to that last piece you look like you are totally macking your mic. Buy her a drink first bro
Veteran of The Psychic Wars - Blue öyster Cult
I love Cars by Gary Numan simply because I am a huge sucker for synth-pop from the 80's. I know it came out in '79 but it does sound like an 80's song.
I'm pretty sure the end of "I Can't Decide" is an concertina or accordion, not a synth.
I really dig it.
Lark’s Tongues in Aspic pt. 2 - King Crimson
Yeesssss
3's & 7's - Queens of the stone age
No no! I need to hear his take on You Can't Quit Me Baby.

Hans Zimmer- interstellar Main Theme
greatest movie score of all time
@@FyRaka indeed!
IceyAndTheBeast yes please!!! 🌌
My Bloody Valentine- Only Shallow
"Cars" was in GTA Vice City, I believe, which is probably the reason I have a soft spot for it (and other 80s pop of questionably quality).
That piano was beautiful, my grandfather used to play Brahms as he waited for my grandmother to get ready to go out dancing, he’d wait for her to be walking down the stairs and start playing and singing Roy Orbison Pretty Woman then effortlessly go back to Brahms. slipknot - If Rain Is What You Want
Oasis - The Importance of Being Idle (Perhaps an Oasis song you'll actually like?)

YES. I don't like Oasis, but that song is awesome

I CAN’T DECIDE WHETER I SHOULD HANG MYSELF OR DRINK BLEACH.
Might actually wanna stay alive for more of your vids.
I know the song is terrible but I will always have a nostalgic love for Burn It To The Ground
The third movement of this piece is even better imo. Also, for even more dynamics, I'd sugest Yuja Wang playing it.
Rachmaninoff's piano concertos, especially the second and third, are absolutely gorgeous!
Vocal audio is panned a bit to the right. Not sure if that was mentioned, but I know you were trying to figure out the audio.
Feudalesimo e Libertà - Nanowar Of Steel.
They're an Italian comedic rock band, but they actually sing in latin in this song.

Song: A Mental Breakdown Artist: Sven Karlsson
Thanks for "I can't Decide". Too fucking funny! Been sharing the heck out of it. 🤭😸😅😆😹🤣😂👍😊
I only like "Burn It To The Ground" nostalgically. 2012 was when I started watched WWE and Monday Night Raw.
I just added the Scissor Sisters song to my "Songs TikTok Ruined" playlist

One of my friends actually mistaked an Amon Amarth song with Burn it to the ground by Nickelback. It made me cry.
A little bit of me died every second that Cars was ragged on. I always loved that record.
Nickelback starts at 14 minutes. Burn it to the ground. I liked it.
