Seriously the most blood-chilling terrifying feeling when I first started playing, sounds like you are descending into the pit of hell itself. Even now, it is terrifying because you know no matter where you are, you cannot escape it, you will see that crimson light rising in the sky and the odds of your doom increasing..
Nah, that's easy- activate the Mogg Latan Shrine on Satori Mountain (it's the closest). When you see a blood moon start, warp to that shrine and duck inside. Wait until 12:30 to make sure the blood moon is fully gone, and come out of the shrine. Then head over to Washa's Bluff, strip down, and wait for nightfall. When you skip a blood moon one night, it always appears the next... well, unless you get a panic blood moon in the middle of the day. There's no preparation for that. Luckily I didn't. The only thing that made it difficult was that I got attacked by a swarm of keese just before the blood moon started. Barely managed to fight them off and get back on the pedestal before it ended.

For all of you that do not know what the blood moon is in botw (Breath Of The Wild), It is a very scary mechanic that keeps the game balanced. Here's what happens: Phase 1: you will hear the music in this video. This is the first sign that a blood moon has been triggered. Phase 2: you may see a big red moon. This is how you confirm that a blood moon has been triggered. (You may see this before the music starts btw) Phase 3: you will see pink orbs with a black trail all around you. Phase 4: the clouds will start to move much, MUCH faster than normal. Phase 5: the sky will turn red. This is the final phase before the blood moon cutscene happens. Phase 6: the blood moon cutscene happens. In this cutscene, zelda states that "all monsters that have been slain in the name of light return to flesh." Final phase: everything you killed before the blood moon initially happened is now back in the game along with items you got you hands on. But the monsters that respawned all have the same goal as before: put you back to sleep. I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. As scary as the blood moon may be, it is actually a symbol of life. Think about it. If it weren't for the blood moon, link would eventually clean the entirety of hyrule out of resources and monsters. Causing the game to have little to NO challenge. So be glad the next time you see the blood moon, for it replenishes all resources and monsters. Allowing the game to maintain it's challenge.
You’ll probably see the moon a lot sooner than hear the music, as the red glow penetrates cloud cover, and you can also ask Hino at the Duelling Peaks Stable what the moon is, and anything that’s not a straight answer or a blood moon confirmation essentially says there’s a blood moon

I want to see the Blood moon return in BOTW's sequel, and here's the improvement I can think off : - The land of Hyrule is plunged into the dark, and the sky islands are trapped in a malice storm. - Malice suddenly erupts from the ground. The land below is overun by malice, transforming the landscape. - A legion of monsters spawns and began hunting you down. - Survive for a limited time - The blood moon ends, all original monsters and loots are back (like in BOTW's blood moon)
That is a great idea! I've always felt that the ominous and threatening vibe it gives off isn't really warranted, because all that happens is that monsters/weapons respawn. Which you'd expect from an open-world game anyway. If there was an actual terrifying consequence of the blood moon, you'd be counting down the nights and running for shelter as soon as you knew it was coming.

I think itd be so cool if the Master Sword had a special look and effect during the night a Blood Moon rises or after one revives all the enemies, until it becomes (what the game classifies as) morning at 5:00 AM. It could have reversed colours, the main part being black and the glowing around it becomes a dark red. It could do 70 damage (I know its a lot but blood moons are quite rare and you'd only get this powered-up form for about 9 in-game hours sometimes anyway so that balances it out so don't complain) and do bonus damage to enemies that have already died and been brought back by the blood moon, or one-shot stal-enemies without having to hit them twice after their body breaks like a lego set being dropped on the floor. That'd be epic as. Give any bonus ideas you might have as a reply!

Imagine lying in bed sleeping peacefully only to wake up abruptly to a sudden bright red light shining through your curtains and this theme start playing. You stand up and shove your curtains to the side to see a massive red moon. Then zombies rise from the ground and flying demons start descending from the sky. Doomsday has begun. What is your next move?
Imagine this: You are the suburbs at night, walking down an alleyway to your house. You check the time. 11:29 am. You walk for about 30 seconds and then you notice red sparks start to appear, seeming to emanate from the ground. You decide your eyes are playing tricks on you. Then you start to hear this music. The air itself becomes tainted crimson after a while, and the moon is blood red. At exactly 12:00 at night, you hear a roar. After a few minutes the sparks and the red filter subside, leaving behind a normal night with a bright full moon.
My first blood moon happened when I was in a little oasis in gerudo desert, and not the bazaar one. It was the one near the stone talus location, and when I saw the ash rising from the ground and heard the ominous music playing, I thought I just came across some important lore thing or something. Then the cutscene played and I thought "holy shit, this is cool!". Or idk, I guess I was confused. But I wish the full cutscene would play for every time you get a blood moon, except without zelda talking
First time this happened, I was climbing a canyon wall, and just got on a little ledge. I just about pissed myself, and began trying to press myself as deep into the wall as possible.
Even the surrounding air heralds the blood moon. That and the ominous music the first time I experienced it was terrifying. 😱 Especially when you hear the roar in BOTW.

I feel like instead of having a whole malice-y design, having it glow it's usual full power colors would make more sense. Nice idea though?
That should be a set bonus in TOTK
I remember my first blood moon, I thought I lost the game.
First time I heard this I ran into the nearest stable.
The blood moon scared the heck out of me when I played botw for the first time on the Wii U
Lol ur a death eater why are u scared
Holy crap, the Blood Moon terrified me on my first playthrough. I nearly turned off my switch until I realized what was happening…
When the glow of the blood-stained moon shines upon the land...
The land of hyrule is threatened once again
Listening to this on a blood moon to keep the chills on my veins
When I was like 8 years old I turned of the volume since the music was terrifying and I also remembered I flip of my switch when the moon was red lol! 😆
How old are you now?
My first blood moon was in Kakariko Village, I was leaving the impa house, I was going through the clothing store until I heard the music and believe me it was very creepy music and I saw the pink dots with black and I thought something wasn't right until I saw the blood moon.
Every time I listen to this music in Breath of the wild and Tears of the Kingdom, it gives me chills sometimes.
Imagine waking up at 3am and hear this
In a Hill

0:30 ROAR
Note: If you try to spend time or sleep until past 00:00 of the night when the blood moon is to rise, expect jumpscare...
The first time I played breath of the wild I noticed something was off then I heard the blood moon theme and the sky turned red with the moon, I was so scared I thought it was actually a horror game and something would jumpscare me
Might be the best sound effects in the entire game tbh
Im playing this while sitting in an empty field during an actual blood moon. Somewhere on this dirt ball 😉
gonna play this during the supposed blood moon tomorrow night
When I saw my first ever Lunar Eclipse, I played this one in my head.
That roar before the Blood Moon cutscene in TOTK is more terrifying than the last one.
WoW 1982 was the last time the Supermoon and the Bloodmoon were together
Ganon's minions are returning tonight November 8th 2022 be on your guard.
(When you finally killed a hammer lynel)
The blood moon: *H E L L O-*
This JUST happened to me
i love when that happens
AKA the "warp to the nearest stable and cook as many dishes as possible" theme.
this soundtrack is the definition of scary
Like your pfp
@@BobBobBruh true tho
Use headphones for a crepier experience
Only people who play late in night know how this feels…
😭
Especially on a night where the full moon turns red for a few hours…
saved for the Lunar eclipse tomorrow ;)
My worst moment with the blood moon is when I was fighting a sliver lynel, I had got the lynel down to a small sliver of health when the blood moon triggered cuz I knew if I had landed the killing blow it would be back with full HP
Me hearing this and seeing the particle: " *time to bully more guardian stalkers* "
Blood moon music starts at 11:30 in game, lasts thirty seconds, and cutscene starts at 12:00. Last half of the song is cut out.
It was scary as hell in botw and it’s arguably scarier in totk
My first blood moon was at Dueling Peaks Stable. I had learned from Hino earlier that day about the blood moon, and knew from his dialogue that it would be happening that night. It still scared the hell out of me when it happened though lmao
Imagine this:
You are the suburbs at night, walking down an alleyway to your house.
Then see a T-Rex next to you
That's scary because I actually live in a suburb with an alley behind my house.
persona 3-
*The Blood Moon is rising...*
Also, tis part of the Overmind's theme!
If ganon ever had an ally. It would be the moon itself. She's always scary in this franchise
MM's would definitely be ganon's ally
Flashback to defeating the Blue Hinox at Diggdogg Suspension Bridge
Theme for cooking all your hearty and max attack meals
When I first played this game, I was TERRIFIED of this music
The most terrifying place to get the blood moon at is in Hebra Mountain 😢
Edit: and death mountain
It's that time of the year again boys and girls
0:31 is probably my personal favorite since it's all creepy and distorted.
Imagine hearing this and then hear distant running that sounds like it’s heading closer
*then realize it’s heading for you*
Tonight is the night
This actually gave nightmares for a week
This scared the flock out of me first time around
Idk why but everytime when the blood moon happens in the game on like "NO! NOT AGAIN!"
When you have a serial killer behind you
My first blood moon happened when I was in a little oasis in gerudo desert, and not the bazaar one. It was the one near the stone talus location, and when I saw the ash rising from the ground and heard the ominous music playing, I thought I just came across some important lore thing or something. Then the cutscene played and I thought "holy shit, this is cool!". Or idk, I guess I was confused. But I wish the full cutscene would play for every time you get a blood moon, except without zelda talking
this scared the hell out of me when i first played BOTW. i thought it was too late and ganon was about to smite me for taking too long 😭
Everybody gangsta until someone blasts this on a speaker at night
First time this happened, I was climbing a canyon wall, and just got on a little ledge. I just about pissed myself, and began trying to press myself as deep into the wall as possible.
Even the surrounding air heralds the blood moon.
That and the ominous music the first time I experienced it was terrifying. 😱
Especially when you hear the roar in BOTW.
Who else was scared of Blood Moons at first but eventually got excited for them because "OH BOY I CAN FARM EVERYTHING AGAIN."
everyone, i think
oh yeah that hinox is back!
What if blood moon actually did some shit like this bringing dead people back to life? Zombies? That would be scary asf. It would be really awesome if the sequel had Zombies like Majora's Mask had Aliens lol
