It's cool that you unbox and review plenty of midrange and budget devices. We haven't all got wallets you can choke a donkey with and all other channels just cream themselves over flagships. Top marks, sir.
You can always buy a flagship from years past. Still a better deal than these awful devices. For roughly the same price you could grab yourself a Galaxy S7 with better specs, and great screen. Much better bang for the buck.
I have had this phone for a few days now and here is my opinions of the phone. I got mine from Argos for £100 , I couldn't take the back of so I had to go back to the store for someone to take the back of for me ,which they kindly did but even then it took two different people to peel the back of. Anyway I then ( with the back still off) inserted the battery and my sim into the sim tray provided and set my phone up. It took less than 10 minutes to get my phone set up with Gmail, my photos, and the apps I wanted on my phone. The phone display is very big, clear and vibrant. Watching videos on RUclips is really good quality as well. You can download ringtones online and add them to your ring tone list so you can pick practically any tune you want. Battery is very good as well, I left my phone on overnight to use the alarm and my battery level was 96% at 10.30pm , I kept my phone on standby and even at 8pm the next day I still had 75% power left on my phone. So I'm quite impressed with that. I was impressed with the clear gel case that came with the phone, . So overall I think the Moto e6 plus is a great phone ,the only thing I do miss is ,is having a notification light to tell me if I have any messages or missed calls. Oh and the cameras great as well and although I'm not a big gamer I did try playing a few games on my Moto e6 plus and again I was very impressed with the quality of screen. And the speed in opening apps and downloading is also very good. I hope my review will help people who are thinking about buying this phone. UPDATE!!!! I stand corrected the Moto e6 plus does have a notification light. It's the same light that lights red when you are charging your phone and lights green when charging is complete. When you get a message or missed call the lights glows green . UPDATE #2 Well,it's been almost a month since I first got this phone and I'm still relatively happy with my purchase. Ok the battery hardly lasts a day and that's with battery saver on and there's no fast charging either but it's ok I guess. I've managed to take the back cover of a few times now but it's still quite tricky. If I was to give this phone a mark out of 10 I'd probably give it 8/10. It certainly does the job ,it's easy to use, it's functional enough but it's just basically a budget end phone for under £100 so I guess you get what you pay for at the end of the day. Update 3!!! I stupidly dropped my Moto e6 plus down the loo yesterday and I was so worried that I'd broke the phone. It went in charger port end first and got a good soaking. I immediately turned it off and dried the best I could with paper tissue. I left the phone switched of for an hour and with baited breath turned it on again. Unbelievably my phone still works fine. So another great positive about this phone.
Of course, most (if not all) removable battery phones have a headphone jack as well as some that have a fixed battery. No surprise here. Due to phones getting thinner and more power hungry, bigger batteries were required. So while your modern day 2000-3000mah battery is roughly the same size as a 1000mah from yesteryears, it has less structural integrity, which meant that user removable batteries became a hazard, so locking them in a must. While most of us here would be fine with replacing a thinner and less structural sound battery, there are some mouth breathers out there that would burn society down if that was still an option.
totally good for budget phones, I thought it might have some issues with processing but thankfully doesn't because the Mediatek chipset performs better than one can expect
Yeah stupid google with motorola removed removal battery a back opening in the 2020 version. Even worse I cant even put my simcard or sdcard in good thing you can return garbage... on the left side might be the entrance for simcard and sdcard but that is garbage also you can get it out they forgot to put a little lip or broken part to slide it out... Still come on why change from 2019 version back opening with removal batter and easy simcard insert to 2020 garbage....
This 2019 version is more precious than you think. After weeks of research looking for a newer phone with removable battery AND micro sim (that's what I have) I finally found this phone that fits my needs. I found several articles saying that removable battery phones are in high demand right now because users on strict budgets like me are realizing that phones with built-in batteries are unusuable when battery dies and if you can't afford to just upgrade phones with expansive plans, then this phone is for you. Not only that, it's more convenient when you travel and need to quickly swap out a small spare battery. Personally, I can't be bothered with changing phones and learning how to use new technology every couple years or so. I had my first smartphone since 2016 and only upgraded because 3G is being phased out this year and I'll need at least 4G for the next decade hopefully. I'm hating every minutes of this process. I hate change. If it ain't broke. don't fix it.
Big brand companies offer low spec devices with decent services, while small brand companies offer high spec devices with virtual no service whatsoever. Case in point, for a 100 pounds/usd you could grab a 4gb of ram smartphone, with a better screen, more storage, better overall build and quality from well established Chinese low cost brands. In fact, most of these are manufactured by said Chinese companies, but Motorola/Samsung etc need to make a profit. This is true for most electronics, TVs for example. Except high end TVs, Samsung/LG do not manufacture the rest of them, but these are sourced out from China.
Update : Motorola is actually doing a great job with their budget phones. I just got the new Moto E 2020 and it has so much value and features for its price. Definitely the best $150 budget phone.
