😂 had to laugh…. Not only upt’ north but down here in south… mushroom roadworks. You go out to shops and on way back a set of temporary traffic lights appear and another hole but no one working!! Are they falling from the sky? Road surfaces were resurfaced and no joke dug up for a new gas main…. One department not talking to another or working from home. Another good ride Dave. Thanks
Dave on the subject of planning rides, yourself and ‘ One man one bike’ is our go to viewing. A great retired gentleman who packs up and off he goes . Series one he set off and ended up mid Africa from Scotland but like yourself natters and talks about his daily rides, so watchable .
Evening bud well I’ve been doing some prep on the bike hand guards new tyres (Metzelers) transformed the ride 👍 Bullet touring seat so comfortable, new yuasa battery, and most evenings at some point my map will come out and I will google earth anywhere that looks interesting especially in Europe if I already haven’t been there, have a short tour already happening in the spring and hoping for a big one later in the year so have mounted all the Hepco & Becker C-Bow panniers inc H&B tail pack and tank bag, the classic looks quite adventurous 🤣🤣🤣 no camping though, at the moment the weather is pretty pants here so I’ve got a RE 350 coat stand in the garage, Roll on spring mate ….. Pete 🇫🇷
I’ve decided from now on to ride throughout the winter, life is too short. Heated jacket and gloves have been a game changer and I am loving the winter rides
Hi, there are some lovely rides in winter, with the bonus that not as many people are at the god spots. Heated kit is the way to go for sure, ride safe, Dave
Nice ride out. It looks lovely out where you are. I shall just be glad when the snow is gone and spring is here.🏴 I can't go far. I look after my wife. So it's so nice to watch your videos. Your bike sounds great.
Hi mate, fingers crossed I will be doing more camping trips this year with I hope you enjoy. Spring will be here soon, where about in the country are you? Stay safe, Dave
You're not alone in thinking about a solo bike tour to far away places. It's what keeps us alive, especially in the winter months. I, for one, would love to know how you plan your rides/tours. Thanks for sharing. See you on your next adventure, keep that rubber spinning 🛞 👊🤙🤘
Hi, I envy those who can just pack the bike up and head off, not having to think about other responsibilities. Planning and "mind camping", can't beat it. Ride safe, Dave
Hi Michael, I have thought about it. In fact I have it planned, I looked up some family history and found several relatives who died on the Somme, I found the exact paces it happened and have the trench maps and daily battle reports from their units. Oneday it will happen. Ride safe, Dave
Yes please on how you organise your rides. I'd love to see the northern lights. But from Australia it would take a lot to get there. So I need to drag out maps and work out the way. I ride a Goldwing with a sidecar. Love it, but would need to freight it to the continent. So it's a yes please from Jim. Western Aus.
Funny I do plan my rides out but only about 400 miles .. last trip was from hull to national motorcycle museum solihull a really good ride out plus a enjoyable museum
Hi, the south coast is somewhere I have looked at but not planned... YET! I want to visit the The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, Weald & Downland Living Museum and Sammy Miller Museum. Stay safe, Dave
i was looking at your gloves and wondering what they were, they suit the bike i think. i do enjoy your vids, i used to live in cleckhuddersfax area and liked to visit squires for a pie and cuppa. i live on isle of man now though and its a bit expensive to nip over just for that 😄i enjoy watching your winter riding but its not for me any more.
Hi, the gloves are from GoldTop. I've been planning a ride to the IOM for years and still haven't done it. Maybe this year will be the time, I feel a cuppa coming on if it do! Next time I go toe Squires I will have a pie for you. Ride safe mate, Dave
I do , but I have to finish running bike in first , I would like to go to the south of Cumbria. I would love you to give me your experience on how to organise a ride as I’m not good at doing so. I would love to go a ride with you perhaps meet up in summer when I would have run my bike in ? I’m in Wolverhampton so I’m quite far from you but hey I don’t mind distances especially being on the classic. I retire this July so would be good 😊
Hi Dave, I’d definitely be interested in that. I’ve done bikepacking on a bicycle which was mainly wild camping rather than campsites so I’d like to know how you do it! Got my Classic 350 at the end of last Summer (same colour as yours) and now have set it up with luggage and I’ve already got a fair bit of camping gear but very lightweight stuff.
Got my camp stuff sorted… bring on the rocky horror picture show 😂 but seriously, don’t have the confidence to do camping on my own, and my wife likes minimum 4 star. Find your camping videos very relaxing so living it vicariously if that’s ok 👍
Thanks mate, I finger crossed I will be doing more camping videos this year. I had a lack of confidence to go as well. the way I got over it was to pick a local site to me with good facilities and went for an overnight stop. I didn't speak to anyone that first time, Just sat looking out grinning. Couldn't wait to get out again. Withe the wife, could you tell her you have organised a special trip to a 4 star nature hotel? Or would that mean trouble! Stay safe mate, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike 😂 I’ll put it to the wife, she’ll probably think it’s related to naturism 😂 I will have a look at some local sites, thanks for your story of experience and advice!
Supposed to be milder this week Re meeting; imagining scenario of going up to a rider and asking “Are you That Bloke On A Motorbike?” “No I’ve come on t’ f’kin bus”
That was a poor overtake by that bloke on the bike early on. Too close to you, overtaking on double white lines, oncoming car. What a complete and utter moron. Love your Classic. Enjoy your biking! Ride safe.
Hi Dave. I am seriously considering a RE 350 Classic to return to motorcycling after a break of 20ish years. I would also like to complete an IAM advanced motorcycle riding course in due course. As far as I am aware, there is no stipulation as to the bike to be used to undertake the course (other than one that can travel and keep up with traffic upto UK legal speed limits). With your “instructional background”, do you think that the classic would be suitable to undertake the course on? Many thanks, Simon.
Same! I've got the moto-camping blues, so I often find myself on Google maps seeking places... any recommendations anyone!? Lake District, Peak District, Wales, Scotland, Cheddar...?
Ardnamurchan Lighthouse for me in a couple of months back via Mull ….did St David’s a while back when I did the fattest ride across the UK mainland to Ness point but Ardnamurchan is the true furthest west …… on my Himmy
@@thatblokeonamotorbike it’s planned for a couple of months time. From my base in the staffs moorlands …Day 1 to Moffat ( up the centre no motorways) day 2 to Arrochar via the Dunoon ferry day 3 to the lighthouse and back via the Ferry to Mull day 4 off Mull to Oban then back to Dunnon Day 5 Dunoon to Kirkurbright Day 6 to Keswick day 7 home. No motorways all lanes and A roads.

Hi Dave, Another vote for the ride-out idea. Yorkshire is a bit far for a day trip these days for me, but the Peak District would be good.
Thanks for the ride along Dave, we got about 10" of snow here recently😒 No riding here, glad you share yours to help with our sanity!

Just a thought for a bit of added interest. How about showing us some of the interesting bikes when you call at places like Squires? 😀
Nice to see you riding through Ackworth at the start, course you can buy me a coffee 😂

Looking forward to spring rides and camping again.
I would definitely join for a ride. It sounds like a great plan and I’ll buy you a cuppa 😀😀

Great ride.. heart in mouth a few times .. but you'd got it covered . Happy new year x
Look forward to meeting you later this year for a ride Dave, great vid btw!

I believe that your sky stripes are called crepuscular rays.
Can't wait for the weather to pick up to get out, Lake district nc500 definitely for me again, camping gear ready and waiting, great ride out

I'd be up for a meet at Fimber. 👍
Yes Please, I for one ( as a Silver Surfer/Rider ) would be interested in some help regarding route planning if enough others would .
Nice one 😂
Nice ride out, Dave.
Cheers mate, ride safe out there, Dave
Hey Dave. Have you considered doing a trip to Belgium and northern France to see the old WW1 battlefields etc ? Now that would make a great video 🙂.
