- Back home from my Tenerife adventure, I’m out on The Royal Enfield Classic 350 over the East Yorkshire Wolds.
It’s good to get back on my own bike, the familiar note from the exhaust, and much less vibration than the 500 I rode over in Tenerife.
Riding along I was going over possible names for her in my head. Driving towards me I saw a Morris 1000 Traveller in dark blue, just like the one my my dad had when I was a kid.
I started thinking of all the fun we had in that car, affectionally known as Betsy. Then it came to me - Betsy - that was it, She Has a Name! The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is christened Betsy.
It’s a fitting name as, just as we did in the Traveller, I love exploring the back roads, “where does that road go” must be the most used phrase when I’m out.
Grab your cuppa, sorry the Sangria has all gone,
Ride safe,
Dave

Welcome home and welcome Betsy!
Thanks for a most enjoyable mystery tour!!!!
Love the sound of the single cylinder and your narration. Please do more! This is the kind of riding that I love!
Well then Dave, I welcome Betsy to my viewing here in Oz.. looking forward to more adventures from you both.. cheers mate
Another great ride out, thank you.
Nice ride out with Betsy. Keep on enjoying the back roads and thanks for taking us along.
Love it .great name 👍
What a wonderful name, Betsy. Enjoy Betsy and praying for many, many, many miles of smiles and happiness.
Nice to watch you pootling as I'm doing the washing up. That's a cracking name for your bike, and I'm still trying to find one for mine. I live at Nth Lakes, and our lanes look like landmines have gone off....I even saw a duck swimming in a pothole yesterday. Where all our low lying fields have flooded, road dips have become fords. Tricky to navigate as they've submerged potholes too. But even in this abysmal weather our scenery from near the foot of the Pennines is stunning.
Quite nice, indeed.
Nice leisurely scenic ride on Betsy, that's what I used to call my work land rover! Looking forward to seeing the outfit btw. 👍
I've watched all your videos over the last couple of days loved them can't wait for your next one ill be picking up my 350 at the end of June keep up the great work
I hope that you and Betsy will be very happy together, Dave; I'm guessing that it'll be a long and rewarding relationship. 👍
You're so fortunate to have such nice lanes to ride down and historic buildings to see. On the other hand, you have less-than-perfect weather... My daughter and myself took our bikes on a five-bike group ride today, following the Swan river from Perth city; bright blue skies and 28C. Had a riverside coffee in Fremantle, then home along the coast. Can't be bad, eh! 😊
A great ride around some stunning countryside. I will have to try the pasty’s at Fimber. You do feel the temperature drop as you make that climb to the top of the Wolds. Knew you would like the church at Givendale, when you saw it.
Classic name for a classic bike.
Cheers Dave. Will have to investigate the roads you took from thixendale to fiber. Looked very nice. My cup of tea. Bet you are looking forward to your retirement. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Heavens to Betsy, not Murgatroyd? Met you briefly at Hawkshead a couple of years ago. Love your stuff. I'm still hankering after another bike.
And... Just invested in a Super Meteor. Taking Marvin to Hawkshead this weekend!
Nice one Dave, looking forward to more adventures of Betsy 😎👌
Fantastic country side Betsy did very well 😊 and so little traffic and beautiful views thankyou for another great ride👍🏍️
Great bimble out and about on Betsy. Love your traffic free roads. Round here, north of Brum, most drivers are out to to run you off the road, or it seems like it!!. Thanks for the peaceful experience. Hope to get out on my Classic 350 soon. She red and chrome and called Ruby!! Lovely bike, will be following your servicing advice in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again friend. Look forward to your next adventure. 👍
Lovely picturesque journey.Nicely filmed and narrated.😊
Love your videos. so chilled. I will be getting a Classic 350 ISignal Sandstorm) at the end of April-Beginning of May. and i intend on doing exactly what you are doing and thats just see where random roads take my across the south downs. i am really looking forward to it
Some great roads, I also enjoy just exploring roads I have never been down before.
Royal Berzan says hi to his sister Betsy and hopes she will take dave to beautifull places. Ride save on your adventures..
Thanks Dave, some great back roads and Betsy was just as much at home as Ivy. They seemed familiar in places, have you taken us along there before?
Little Betsy... lovely name.
Glad to see that the picnic basket got transferred to Betsy 😀😀
"Betsy" , diminutive of Elizabeth. Coincidence ? Such perfect countryside for the Meteor, must be a joy. Has got to be nice to see flowers, we have 30 cms of snow forecast for tomorrow in Eastern Canada. Cheers
Beautiful motorcycle, love the basket and panniers.
That was a beautiful church.
Im not a church goer, haven't been since l was a kid but l love old churches and if l lived near that little church l might be tempted to go the odd Sunday 🤔
what a nice ride Dave and good chatting on the way, I now have my classic and hope to ride much like the way you do , I still have my morris minor tourer her name is , Sandy Denny.
Golly, I love these videos?
Hi mate, I'm sat here hard at work editing more video content.
Glad you're enjoying them. Stay safe, Dave
Nice to see you back in blighty looking forward to more out and about video a question would you show your bike stops at café so i could have a run out and have a look 😀
As soon as you mentioned the A166 I thought you were heading to Seaways cafe for that coffee.
I have the bronze chrome one, I refer to it as Rusty (the rear wheel rim helped seal it)😊.
Fantastic video Dave was watching you on Google maps seeing where you were and seeing if you were pointing the right way 😂

You too
Phil 😊😊😎
Lovely name fut lovely bike!
Betsy is an excellent name! Wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed your Tenerife rides, especially as you say, the weather here has been diabolical! Added to which, my COPD has been playing up, preventing me from going out for a ride. Really annoying as I’ve just fitted the Kent cam…… Anyway hope you are nicely recharged after your trip, and we look forward to your future adventures!
Can't beat 350 Classic content, looked a good spin out. 👍
Welcome BETSY! 😊! And welcome Back home Dave. Your journey to Tenerive was very cool! But Home is Home! I was 2 years in France for work, there is a wonderfull Landscape too. But, when i was traveling back to Home, and its cloudy, and so juicy green and Brown trees coming back, and fresh air..montains. thats awsome, Home is Home!So my 350 is nameless, ATM!
Great ride out Dave , and a good name for the bike , yes you can't beat just going out for the day and just wandering where your curiosity takes you , the Classic 350 is the perfect bike for the job, unstressed and relaxing to ride , brilliant 🙌👍
Cheers Mel 🍻
My type of lanes.
Think that’s same bike as Keith (Shottos Travel) has and coincidentally he’s been discussing whether bikes should have names
You did well there, it’s been underwater and mud covered for such a long time on those wolds roads.
The Fimber cafe is a little gem , absolutely love it
How may know about the Blue Box? (Other than Dr. Who.)
Jolie nom! C'est ma "Schaubi" qui le dit 😁✌️🇨🇵
Well my scooter is more of a girls transport and it dark so I would call it Helen........but I've never named my motorcycles.
If you plan on keeping it l would put a carburetor on it so it runs much cooler so it will last longer. EFI makes bikes run hot 🔥🥵 as Hades cooking the oil. My BSA C-15 250's are nice simple bikes. Simple and easy to work on them. Reliable and dependable transportation why maintained properly. British vintage motorcycles are rebuidable forever ♾️.
Nice to meet Betsy mate, that's a nice name. I have the same bike and colour scheme, mine's called Ruby.
Is your camera really mounted on your helmet? I see your head coming in and out of shot - so how is your head moving without the camera moving? I'm very curious!! 😅 Cheers Dave. Enjoy Betsy.
That fimber bike park looked pretty muddy 😮, personally not a fan of the boggy carpark yuck!
When I had my. B S A. Club racer. I road the back highways. Of the sierra mountains. Highway 49. All the British. Riders would meet at the soup shop for something. Good to eat. It was great fun a lot of good memories Lemay. Nelson.
Sorry that was in California. I now live in Washington state. Pacific. Coast. Great. Show bub great show. Lemay. Nelson.
