Nah the momma fawn is still around, the fact that its ears weren’t curled means it wasn’t deficient in calcium, so it’s had milk recently
@@RafaelAndNavid I'm guessing you never watched Bambi before?
@@MaskMan-bx6kr no I got the joke, just thought it would be interesting to point that out
I remember hearing that, in some areas, deer will leave their babies at people's houses, because predators in that area won't approach humans, and humans don't tend to kill deer on their property.
That's... actually a big brain move on their part as long as the humans aren't scummy.

Babies literally approach you
**Gives pet on head**
**[Instant domestification]**
That's true. That's something almost never brought up but people forget that babies are stupid and largely unaware of the harm they're putting themselves into outside of their natural predators and something like a forest fire.
What would you do as a baby if you felt like you were in mortal danger and cant survive on your own? Sometimes people forget that even animal babies can be goofy and playful. They're all curious.
@@vivianjames357 and yet I still think that the human babies also played a part of showing their guardians that the baby animals can be domesticated if it's treated right at the right place at the right time and with the the right of approaching whatever animal that the baby is keen of 🐧
I've been watching videos of these guys rescue seals from fishing lines, and the adults always bolt back to the sea while the pups just sit there.
How
Your restraint in not petting that cutie is admirable
@Static2nd In case you didn’t know it’s normal to see a fawn without its mom for long periods of time.
@Static2nd If you touch them, the mother will likely not take them back. They can be left for weeks at a time as a defense mechanism against predators. The mother will only return for short periods of time to feed them.
@@jmg999. That is simply not true. Now that you’ve been informed, if you repeat that utter nonsensical old wives tale, you’ll be lying to ppl.
@@jmg999. The reason he doesn’t want to touch the tiny deer is because fawns have very little odor to them, and that helps protect them from predators. That’s how mama deer can stash them in a hidden spot of relative safety while they forage. But mama deers won’t “reject” them because there is human scent on them. But putting human scent on them makes them a little more vulnerable than they already are. Deer have been rehabilitated by humans and even introduced them into different herds. Deer have even gone to humans and “asked” for help getting their stuck fawn back. There’s even many videos of that on YT.
Given how many times I have had to deal with deer over the years, it's worn on me really quickly lol
Nice knowing the proper way on how to handle the situation. "The ears aren't curled" is an great observation that I myself wouldn't have noticed.

What happens if the baby came straight after the mom died?
"Your ears aren't curled so I'm not gonna mess with you."
That is a smart, observant man. He knew that only fawns with curled ears would need help as its a sign of calcium deficiency meaning that they haven't been fed milk in a long time, which would be a clear sign that the mother is gone. Respect to a man with both brains and heart.

Deer often leave their fawns alone for periods of time. And they know that they’re supposed to lie down and be quiet as possible. Hence the camo fur. A mother deer with a fawn is an easy target for would be predators. So, they leave them somewhere away from her. A fawn doesn’t have a much of a scent. They know the routine. I was hoping she hadn't died while birthing the fawn, or some hunter hadn't shot her, so we searched the nearby woods for her, all the while the fawn was stuck like glue to my son, who was it's new best friend. Luckily we spotted her standing about 100 yards away. As we all approached her she called out to her fawn, who was still right by my son's side step for step. I had to pick my son up and walk away quickly, leaving the fawn to be reunited with it's mom. I love that the default setting for people coming across wild young animals is asking “wheres your mama?”
I'm one of those different ones that would ask "Where's your parents?" because I always have that in mind that this animal or human came from both, there's no female that can bring another creature without a male.
@@PowerOfAIandMotivation I love this idea also because it includes non-binary, trans, and homosexual families that have adopted (at least in terms of humans). When it comes to animals I think asking about “mama” instinctually comes from the fact that in most species, the female stays with the young much longer than the male. I like that you’re switching it up though!
@@banannarama Thank you for sharing, hope you have a great week!😊👍🏻
Of course I'm gonna ask where the mama is, I'm not tryin' to get mauled/trampled to death lol!
Well wouldn't you want to know?
Little Fawn was like: hello 🤗🤗
*“You know, I am somewhat of a Disney Princess myself”*

@@Zerosenpai25 princes dont get the animals
Bambi is male btw. Just saying. lol
This man's tone... his soft, empathetic, kind-hearted character oozes out as he speaks to this little baby. Such a kind man.❤ Adorable baby too!!

forreal lol he could read that baby a bed time story and it would curl up and fall asleep to that nice voice hahahah.. 100
@onemanarmy4908 Ok
“Sir we’ve been trying to call you about your cars extended warranty-“
😂😂😂😂
💀😂😂😂
Lol 😂 there is one way u can make them stop calling u: tell them u are disabled and can't drive because of it, thus why u don't have a car. I can't drive do to disability, so i tell them that and the calls slowly but surely stopped coming in. Lol
Ha
😂😂😂😂
I know it's best for everyone that I wouldn't touch it. But I can't help wanting to pet and hug that lil creature
What a beautiful baby. And what a smart guy to leave it alone.
It was actually a deer.
I just was wondering why it was smart for him not to touch? Is it because if mama smelled human scent she wouldn't feed it anymore?
@@christinavalle6130 Yes, that's a possibility. It might be abandoned altogether. Also... humans have bacteria and viruses on their hands that sometimes aren't "native" to the body of wild animals- thereby posing a possible health risk to a young animal that isn't immunocompetent yet.
I was wondering the same thing, can he wear gloves and escort him back to the woods????
@@christinavalle6130contrary to popular belief, that is actually a misconception.
The baby is looking at him with total trust. That is the sweetest thing ever!! And thanks for the info about curled ears!!
Yes cause I didn’t know that.. make me more alert and aware if one every come close
What does curled ears mean?
It tells you in one of the other replies. When their ears are curled it means they haven't had any of mommas milk and have a calcium deficiency
I would tend to think it is a sign of dehydration from not drinking mother's milk in awhile.
“Where’s your mama, at?” Too precious; and the way he said it with so much caring in his tone. 💕
Btw don’t do that to an animal that’s big enough to hurt you, they take it as submissiveness and might attack
AWWWW, isn't that sweet? 🤢
Simplifying his english as if that's going to help the deer understand him better 😂
“are you reading the scripture?”,.. too adorable 💛.
It’s a Christian deer let him worship
Honor thy Daddy and Mama
Usually we lambs but we'll allow fawns for today😅
Deer God, ...
All deer are Christian 😊
Him: "I can't touch you though!"
Everyone else: 🖐
You could pet the fawn for hours and it's mother would come for her baby regardless....a humans scent won't make a doe abandon her fawn
@@jarvislarson6864 True, the reason you should avoid touching them if you can help it is because fawns don’t have a scent so they can hide from predators. The human scent will make it easier for predators to find them.
I'd have wanted to scoop that baby up in a blanket & call it my new baby!

Sometimes my dog has the same expression like this cute Bambi 😊

Fawn: Mom asked if you would watch me while she runs errands?

Precious little thing!!!!
He's like "my mommy left me here so you must be cool"and just stands there staring at him. So freaking adorable my goodness
Yep! Deers hide their fawns where they believe are the safest place
@@wackyotter1235 It's so cute that it looks at him as if to say "well my mom said I should stay right here so you MUST BE COOL RIGHT?" And it doesn't even flinch. Its just adorable
What I absolutely adore about baby deer is their complete innocence. They're like "I trust you and you are good"😄
"Wanna buy some deer scout cookies?"
😂😂😂😂😂
😭
😆
Take a like damnit lol
😂
"are you reading the scripture?" I just can't after that that was so sweet! 🙏🏻
Maybe a lost loved one was sending them a sign ❤️
Hopefully the mum did find her baby.
"Are you reading the scripture?"
So cute 😄
I hope so too.....
The mom’s likely alive since the fawn doesn’t have curled ears (explained in different comments by some people)
Such a responsible citizen with wildlife. Adorable interaction :)
If a deer shows up at your doorway and isn’t even scared of you, you’re qualified to be a Disney princess.
lol
Hahahah
What if one prances over to you and shoves her head under your elbow?
