Hubby got to drive an original back in 1973...He became friends with Liston Chapel (#52) out of G'ville, FL who lent him the bike for an hour. My husband compared it to an early Cobra....It was that special. Liston was hurt badly while flat track racing.....and didn't survive. We'll remember him and his love of Triumph machines always.....
Awesome video! My dad owns an original 650 mk3 in yellow which I have had the pleasure of racing in pre65 scramble racing. They are like rocket ships and handle beautifully. In the right hands, with a competent rider unbeatable even. Very advanced for their time, the frame material (Reynolds 531) and fibreglass bodywork makes them a light bike considering the engine size. The 500cc daytona version was a lot lighter. Just like a lot of classic cars the styling and sound of these bikes is awesome compared to most modern motorcycles.
A choir of angelic voices........ how appropriate... on the road, saving all humanity, in a time so short. A curiosity at best. Jason's my Guy, rooting for him.
Was racing scrambles in the 60's and acquired one of the first metisse frames Don & Derek built. It was a big advance on the bsa gold star which had been the mount to have before the metisse frames arrived. Great bikes and great memories from the golden age of scrambling.
My inspiration to build customise my own came after seeing some of the underrated and not so cool looking cafe racer bikes. I don't have a garage so I did it right in my basement parking spot. thank you and long live RacerTV.
Absolutely magnificent! Stunning music is perfect for such an epic bike. I believe they were the most advanced when the Mark III came out. The top racers from almost every country raced them with their own engine of choice. I think one year (1963?) in the motocross des nation (sp?) 80% of the riders were on Rickman Mark III bikes. Of course I am slightly biased because I am currently building a Mark III with a Triumph 650 twin engine. I bought the complete frame kit from Rickman Motorcycles and it is a work of art. I feel this your best video yet!
JagLite48 It seems this video is almost unnecessary for you. Lol. You know more about it than myself.:) But i'm glad you liked. I have to congratulate you for your project. You made a great choice. I wish you the best luck for your project, and thank you for your kind words. Cheers.
I have to say; Racer TV...... You keep producing the goods. Time and again I revisit your site, and it's always a pleasure. This is a sign of class, embellished by excellent English text (I know it's text to voice..... but somebody must write it ;) ) The moment we saw the cross-post fencing, we knew what was coming LOL. We weren't disappointed. Thank you!
I got my 650 66 Triumph in 82 and it was a chopper.A friend was parting out a 72 Triumph 250 and I got the front end and added a valve spring to the tubes for the extra weight and it was and still is great. I climbed a high wall in a pit and it always has handled great, everywhere.....Love it and you dont need the pipes and frame to make it handle great because it already will....They are super light to start with and will do it in the frame they are in and the pipes are mostly clear out of the way....
Well hardly a Cafe Racer that I subscribed for,but you're forgiven and you're most definitely correct- the Rickman is indeed one of the coolest bikes on the planet! Good video, great to see the Legendary Steve McQueen, Thankyou. As always will be eagerly waiting for your next wonderful video.
Yet again, thanks for another scrambler video. I chose to build my cl 450 into a scrambler and now I see everyone is bringing one back into production. Ducati brought theirs back, husqvarna has a beautiful scrambler too then this. Seems like the perfect time to build one. Not sure how you find all these awesome bikes but keep them coming. I'll be back next week to see what inspiration you have for me.
joshua3113 Thank you for your kind words.I'm glad knowing that my videos are inspirational for many of us (including for me, Lol).Usually, the choice of bikes for the videos have to be honest. I only choose the bikes that i really love.It is not easy to find them, but with hard work, it is just a question of time. And again, thanks for sharing your comment. Cheers.
+Isara Thepyuha Yes, i really put my effort in this video, but for some reason, it wasn't the success i was expecting. But thank you for appreciating it. Cheers.
Ichiban Moto I think the main question about the "cool factor", is how to achieve it.And as i said in the video, this bike is a very good example.Being discreet, is one of the main features of the cool factor. When some bike is trying to be cool, usually ends being too flashy. And this is the difference of being cool, and "Trying" to be cool. Thanks for your comment. Cheers.

This is old school stuff". Para homens de barba rija e a cheirar a cavalo. Lol. Um abraço.
Another great video. Congrats . To understand Cafe Racers, it´s necessary to have a knowledge of the existence of other correlations between man and machine. The Scrambler fits the bill. By the way, once again I ask, what is the name of the melody during the video? Sounds like another song by Ennio Morricone.
dingo416 Thank you for your kind words. This video was one of those that gave me a lot of work, but i think it deserved.I was going to give you the song name, but i guess is already too late. Lol.Cheers.
Courtney Wigfall I believe you are asking about the "song" and not the "dong". lol The music is based in the original The Ecstacy of Gold by Ennio Morricone. Enjoy.
ooh ok...sorry for my opinion! and i wanna ask u about consideration to that motorcycle ,which u say the coolest one and u make consideration for a few years?...maybe that can make help me to sight every motorcycle classification! cheers up bruder!!! :)
aldrin habibi You don't need to ask sorry for your opinion. I always respected different opinions.I also understand your opinion about this bike, because if you ask my opinion about this bike 10 or 15 years ago, i probably say that i didn't like this bike. To appreciate this kind of bikes, we need time to learn to appreciate them.It is like a process where we have to see and love modern bikes, until one day that we get tired of modern bikes, and start to appreciate old bikes.Just like in music, the best songs are the ones that 20 years later, are still cool and enjoyable to listen in.But to know this, we need 20 years of life experience. Cheers.
+REGGIN RETNUH At least we can build it at home. Try to search on google for "rickman metisse", and you will find a full kitt about this bike. :) Cheers.

Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real British voice in one of my videos, and, surprisingly, almost everyone hated it. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds realy very good for to non-English natives. :) Cheers.
why you said that motorcycle is the coolest one...she looks boored design to me...because in indonesia its to many motorcycles with design like that, one point that i love to that things...that machine preety cool!!! heee...
aldrin habibi I understand your comment. Sometimes, we need a few years to start appreciating some bikes. And this bike is one of those. Even if it isn't nothing special, i still think this Metisse is one of the coolest Scramblers i ever seen. Thanks you for sharing your comment. Cheers.
Nothing else to say but yet another good video :) Somehow most triuphs arent my cup of tea.....Maybe because i have just heard so much bad talk about old triumph engine.... Also be sure to checkout ***** channel. There is some cheap and good movies and in their wesite there is more awesome stuff.
Timo - GarageRat Hi Timo. Yes i understand your opinion about Triumph's.But as i said in the video, the body kit can be adapted in many different bikes.I have a friend who is thinking on building a Metisse in a MZ ETZ 250(One of the ugliest bikes i ever seen- Lol). Thanks for your comment, and for the link. Cheers.
Another computer voice Yuk yuk yuk. This is also the bike that Mr. Cole took to Afric a and it literally fell to bits!! The frame broke at it's weld points.
Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because i'm Portuguese, and my bad english accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that i like for my videos. I already tried a real american voice in one of my videos, but things didn't worked as i expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non english natives. Cheers.
Sorry to hear that. Fourtunatly, my most recent video are much better. Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real American voice in one of my videos, but things didn't work as I expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non-English natives. Cheers.
@@RACER_TV Thanks for replying. You know native English speakers don't mind an accent - as long as it is genuine. The great thing about English is that it is easy to understand even if mispronounced and with an accent and we don't mind - unlike the French :-). It's just that the computer voice is odd.

Cheers.
Husqvarna of the same vintage would whip it badly....
Cheers.
Saying "cool" doesn't really fit with that accent. Couldn't they think of a better adjective.
+Pete Hargreaves Sorry, but i just can't remember a better adjective to define this bike. :) Cheers.
Sorry, that dreadful computer generated narration voice with its bad pronunciation and bad grammar ruined it for me.
Sorry to hear that. Fourtunatly, my most recent video are much better. Unfortunately, things are more complicated than most people may think. @@RACER_TV Thanks for replying. You know native English speakers don't mind an accent - as long as it is genuine. The great thing about English is that it is easy to understand even if mispronounced and with an accent and we don't mind - unlike the French :-). It's just that the computer voice is odd.
Eat my grits euro5!
What is that horrible robot voice?
