I was at a Leaf Sabre game some years ago when Paul Maurice was the coach of the leafs with my son.
I had two signs one read on the 7th day god created Sundin who didnt play that game. And many fans took pictures and commented on the sign .
The second sign read Paul Maurice for Prime Minister! And coach of the year!
Wasn't given a chance or proper opportunity to coach the leafs with the roster he had to work with.
Congratulations it is well deserved , great coach and class act!

Remember that speech Maurice gave his players a couple years ago when playing the Leafs? If I recall correctly, "f*ckin *ussies" he called his players. Me thinks that speech worked. From that time on, Panthers have been a FORCE. The players listened. They've never been the same team since. Maurice deserved this Cup as much as anyone.

they rode their hot goalie to a 3-0 lead( despite being outplayed in those first 3 games ) and that was too much of a hill for Edmonton to climb.Maurice can say whatever he wants but he knows it ,we all know it ,that without Bob ,FLorida is on the losing end of this series 100%

They did a better job than any other team at shutting down mcdavid and draisaitl. The didn't do it every game but they did it consistently enough to win. The were relentless on them in game 7 and bob was good... that was the difference maker

@richardobrien8716 no, they didn't. They completely shut down Leon the entire series, and completely shut down Connor in all of their 4 wins. Edmonton had a great year, but they need more depth.

@@Outpost-13-Hockey Bennett is signed through next year. Okposo was a healthy scratch, not a loss for them. Bob is still out playing the opposition. Then they have Knight waiting.. There is no reason to think Reinhart wants out. He is currently at 6.5, will likely get a raise to the $9M range.
