5:02 Didn't realize how sick this beat was back then... All these tracks are soo Iconic for me since I'm 37 years old. All the Chrono trigger Music is sick and should have been more here.
Even proffesional audio philes should admit that the snes has the best soundchip and game music in the world, no other game console can ever match this.
I know some pros who hate it (the usual complaint is that it falls into the "uncanny valley" and doesn't provide what its designed for to do) but I don't agree with them. I love the SPC700, and what people created with it, even if it was crippled a bit by the surrounding hardware and memory/buffer size. Would never say that the SNES had the particularly best soundchip or game music (compare for instance with MSX OPLL or SCC, or with the PC-98 or X68000 capabilities), but it's a given and safe to claim that some of the best soundtracks in the history of gaming were created on it.
+Aloan Moreira Yea, even plays like it a little bit, although fighting is only half of it. Afterwards it goes into a simcity like simulation where you build civilization back up. The fighting is usually to clear out monsters on parts of the continents or to protect the people and also defeat the 6 lieutenants as well as Tanzra. It's a really looked over game, especially since its gameplay is so unique transitioning from fighting to sim city like simulation. Also as you "build" your still attacked by monsters in the area.
Ese chip de Sony para el audio y el excelente trabajo de los compositores le dieron un toque único e icónico a las bandas sonoras de los juegos de SNES
This would be a lot better as a drinking power hour if there was gameplay of the games during the songs rather than a screenshot. But still a good list
>start with "The Beginning"
>end with the apocalypse
I see what you did there.
I love to this day the SNES so much, they could have stopped coming out with consoles after that one as far as I'm concerned
agreed. I didnt play anything after snes..well, i did play sega saturn for a bit but that was that. No playstation, no xbox, no N64

Good list but I personally find the "recorded through a cellphone mic" sound unbearable.
A+
Clicked for A link to the Past
Playing Aquatic ambience at night.
U.N. Squadron and Cool Spot are CRIMINALLY ABSENT from this list.
i wish pilot wings sound track was in here
Was this recorded off a VHS?
Nice.
Anyone know which song from DK:C is at 21:02?
Phil S. Hey Phil. If you click "Show More", there is a full track listing. It's Gangplank Galleon.
Ah. Thanks mate! exodia1
first song is really muffled, sounds like someone recorded it from some tv speakers.
I was listening on headphones, and I thought it was playing through my monitor's speakers.
FFII
Doing the most adult shit listening to this music. And also 69th comment !!
A power hour consists of dying of alcohol poisoning.
0:20 did you record this with a microwave oven?
Hahaha! That's good one... 👎
Does anyone know what music for SNES games was made on/with? All the songs have a distinct style to them
venomhonk.png
So many great songs... cut in half and/or played at horrible quality.
It is painful to listen to this. Why would you ruin such great music?
The musics is not complete. Half of Stickerbush Symphony.
