    Holy cow. You just made me realise that one person I used to know projected his narcissism like this onto others. This explains a lot. Thank you.

    "As the warden is, such he trusts his guests."
    "Shadowboxing" - Yeah, funny how you can have known people for years and realize they've been interacting with this image they've been projecting that literally has nothing to do with you whatsoever.

      It can definitely be disconcerting when it’s noticeable that someone is projecting something onto you that isn’t there.

    I’m my parents’ scapegoat and I’m in the process of healing. My mother projected her sense of inadequacy onto me, how can I heal this?

    Fun fact; I just discovered The etymology of the term scapegoat. It harkins back to ancient Judaism. Where a high priest would load all of his countrymen's sins onto this sacrificial animal & Let it go into the wilderness. It was symbolically releasing the nation of its sin burden before God.

    Hi Emerald, that was an excellent eye opening explanation especially as it folllows your previous video where you explained projection and transference in depht. I also really appreciated the part when you talked about the drives. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience

    From my experience, when we internalize a lot of shame, it tends to be reflected other's opinion of oneself.

      Do you mean that others will tend to think things about us that we feel ashamed of?

      I've found that as a family scapegoat, in my adult life that pattern repeats itself in my relationships and at work.

    Scapegoating applies to racism as well...

    I don't understand how internalization is a way of "running away" from shame.
    Its something that i do, and to me, it feels like the opposite of running away.

    This goes back further than ancient Greece. Hebrews did it when they received the law.

    have some family that are soo bad with this that we dont even really know who each other are, due to the dynamics of people being oblivious that anyone else does it. one person would always get away with horrific shit, while everyone was cocky and confident it Was the person blamed

    • @TheDiamondNet
      @TheDiamondNet  Год назад +1

      It’s an unfortunately a common dynamic within families.
