你好!I took mandarin classes in college for this semester, so I’ve been immersing myself in Chinese culture to get a feel of the language and the people, I love your channel since it’s so diverse! Politics, history, culture, travel and so much more can be found it’s really great! Keep up the quality :D
新年快樂 Happy New Year Siming. Health and happiness in New Year to you and whole family. First Red Envelope ? 😊. Sorry for improper emoji -empty part of the cane...
Another great video, with lots of info and travel tips. 🙂Your comment about Guangdong food, where the shrimp tastes like shrimp. I am from UK and we also like the food to taste more natural. Because I am from UK everywhere I go in Yunnan, or Guizhou, the hosts always buy me beef, and it never tastes of beef, or they buy me chicken, that never tastes of chicken. To be honest, I would rather have pork, or roast duck.🙃 My enduring memory of Qingdao is buying beer in plastic bags from small shops. They pour the beer from a tap in metered plastic bags. I first saw them when I was in a small newspaper shop, and little old ladies were walking home with these bags. Fresh Qingdao beer.
Great video Siming! Your personality is so fun and adventurous. You should bring one of your friends on your next trip so you can have her/him film you. Plus it’s you’ll be able to get into more hijinx with a partner in crime. Excited to see where you’ll go next:)
This may be a super dumb question, but here I go 🙈 : What would you eat in these chinese places when you'd rather have primarily veggies? 🤔 Salt, fish and meat, I get to see that in nearly every video about food in China. Surely dishes with primary veggies has a long history in China. 🤷♂ Secondly, I love seeing you interact with the locals 👍😁
I 1000% agree! Driving and having the freedom to enjoy the route and all the detours is the best, stopping whereever it suits you, finding surprises along the way and making immediate decisions to try something new and unexpected, and not just going from destination to destination.
Getting better n better every time, Siming! 🎥 1. I thought you might eat the yogurt pot! 2. I’ve spent a LOT of money on Mandarin classes; and 3. I have fantastic photography skills 📸 Think I’m gonna be okay when I live there! 🇨🇳🏮🧧🀄️🎷🫶🏼(Quick edit - Great music to eat oysters to!! 🦪😋🤪)
Great video! New subscriber! It’s not often people drive from Yangzhou! We will be doing our roadtrip from Yangzhou (my husbands hometown) but driving south to Jiangxi instead of north like you! Thanks for sharing, we will have to do this route soon! ❤❤
@@SimingLan Pretty cool that you can buy stuff at the market and have it cooked by a restaurant owner ! Didn't know that was possible. And yes, these oysters looked out of this world !
Thank you for the photography advice and sharing your videos. That being said, my wife always complained that I take lousy pictures ....xswl. By the way, I am so jealous of those fat juicy oysters, you should have ordered more.

I read the Great Canal 'built in sections over a period of more than 2,500 years, starting in the 5th century BC. It was completed by Emperor Yang of the Sui dynasty in 609 AD' - traffic ''triggered the world's first 24-hour food places - so yeah that could help explain Chinese restaurants being everywhere
Great video and nice to see many places filmed in the way like local. I guess "scam" is a strong word in overpriced stuffs especially in tourist areas. If the price is on the menu I guess the choice will be for the customers to explore and pick the one acceptable to them.
Some folks just don't realize there's something called operating costs and rent. If anyone ever rented a car at any airport In the US, they will see some kind of airport tax, fees.. Is it the car rental company scamming me?
Siming, please make a video specifically about religious freedom in China. I think most people think that communist countries don't allow religion because it's against the ideology. I think this topic could be very interesting to be discussed. As always, great video! Cheers.
@SimingLan , perhaps do a vlog on EV bikes. I just came back from Guilin, it's Eav bikes everywhere and no noise except for big buses horning here and there. I am curious there is no EV bike charging and wonder how long the EV bike distance it can go..luv to see you share a story on EV bike ownership. Thks❤❤

Everyone, you *must* go watch her 32-minute episode from two weeks ago. Nofifications for it were not sent due to sensitivity. Well worth viewing.
FINALLY a comment about that sticks after about thirty different attempts LOL. Yep, our first amendment in the land of the free🤣🤣
Watch the movie she suggested at the end too.
Thanks!
