This is the second home in which ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
I love when someone steals a package and then over the speaker a woman says "PUT THAT BACK RIGHT NOW!" like she's talking to her child. And 9 out of 10 times they listen! 😂
They already caught on camera. So they risk putting it back, so they won't get I'm trouble

I work in healthcare over the night so often my packages are left outside until I wake up for the night. It really depends on the hours. A single knock won't wake me during the day. And if I get called in for a 16 hour shift it'll be there even longer.

I had an almost similar situation as the person who was hiding in the trash can. I was home & about 3 officers walked up to my door asking if I saw someone run past. I checked the camera in the backyard & noticed someone jumped jumped my fence from the side, tossed a gun near my tree, then jumped the backside of my fence into the neighbors yard 🤦🏿♀️
One night, 2 officers came to my house, asking had I seen anyone running. They were chasing a guy. Nope. I dont know anyone who gets in trouble. So 3 hours later, here come the same officers, asking the same irritating question. Ya'll came here, not 3 hours ago, asking this same question. Irritated as crap by now. Do I LOOK like someone who hides freaks?!?!? Turns out, they had him once, and he got away. By this time, it was *almost* funny, lol...

Lived in Maryland for a couple years (worst experience ever), there was a rash of things going missing. It turned out to be a homeless man with a cart. He would take things he had "scavenged" back to his "home"😢. Things like half a BBQ grate. Hose, car battery, patio cushion,.. things like that.. it was sad really.

I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and live just outside Nashville now , we keep the shotgun loaded and if someone breaks they are blown out ! My brother caught a guy stealing a stereo out of a truck he was working on he beat the hell out of him knocked him out he laid in the driveway a while and ran off we didn’t have things stolen anymore !

I live in Baltimore city. I don't even give the thieves the opportunity. I have everything sent to one of those lockers you can find at convenience stores and grocery stores. I font want them even knowing that I can afford deliveries. They (being the homeless and addicts) watch your every move. I can't walk out to my car without being asked for something. It's crazy. Yeah I felt bad for the snow shoveling guy…and here where I live people need there driveways plowed and walkways shoveled at all hours. I had to find someone new to plow my driveway a few years ago because at the time I worked an early morning shift and the company we had at the time wouldn’t plow until like 11 pm 🤦🏻♀️

People are crazy. I had a tweaker jump into my passenger seat in broad daylight out in front of a gas station. I was only 19 at the time and I was totally paralyzed with fear. She had a little baggie of all sorts of pills in her hand and was screaming that I was some girl named Nina. Thank God she was stupid/high enough to do what she did in front of a gas station that had a restaurant attached and was frequented by many sheriffs deputies.
She was yanked out of the car almost as fast as she got in but it definitely scared me so bad.
Now, as a 38 yr old mom, I have my permit and I don’t leave my house without packing. I also keep my doors locked, too, of course.

Alaska, New Mexico, Tennessee, Arkansas Arizona, Louisiana, Missouri, South Carolina, South Dakota and Michigan have the highest crime rates in the country. California and Washington aren’t even on this list which you can google. Tired of my beautiful and wonderful state getting bashed.

I live in a small college town, but it has a substantial homeless population for it's size, and my back yard faces an alley that is kind of a thorofare to the main homeless shelter.
It was hot summer night without A/C and I went to sleep with my screen door locked, but the wood door open to let as much breeze as possible flow through. There were storms on the forecast and I was looking forward to them. I'm asleep in bed and I wake up to what I think is storm winds shaking my screen door, and it soothes me back to sleep.
However the door keeps shaking longer than what wind should, so I instantly alerted that something was off. I quietly got up without turning on any lights and I walked to my screen door. There is a person in poofy winter coat with a hood and he has both hands on the screen door handle pulling with all his might. He couldn't see me in the dark, so I stood there for a second unsure what to do. I lowered my voice as deep as it could go and shouted "HEY! What are you doing!?" He froze and said his friend lets him crash there. (He has no friends at my place that I know of).
We go back and forth with me shouting he has the wrong house. He walks away and I stood there watching him, and by the time he makes it to the alley, thunder cracks and the sky begins dumping rain. I almost felt sorry for him, but I can't imagine what he would have done if he got into the house while I was asleep. I never sleep with any doors open now, and only with windows that are out of reach of the ground. And I got central air in the first house I could afford to buy. People are messed up.

I live in a gated community and needed help for my mom. Her friend kept coming over and helping but then she kept leaving the door unlocked when she left. I put up a sign for "everyone" to lock the door when leaving. She said this community was safe to leave your doors unlocked!
NOT! My mom was stalked for months, the person let themselves in while she was sleeping!! Then, she was in the shower and suddenly the curtain was pulled back and a naked man was standing there telling her to perform an intimate act on im.

Pitbulls? Dobbie's? Ya'll crazy! Get a Rottweiler!! I have 4 and I've never felt safer! Strong, fearless, with a bite stronger than a Pitty and Dobbie. My smallest is 140lbs. They have a natural guarding instinct that is unmatched. Very little guard dog training required, these dogs are natural protectors.

When s*** got real they went running. 😂 I have a little mixed breed mutt with Jack Russell Terrier husky and Pitbull and she will tear somebody up.. My Rotti's are big baby's around their family. They are very loving and gentle around me but definitely not with strangers. Around strangers they are highly suspicious and their always watching. They tolerate strangers and they won't attack them unless it's necessary. If I walk them at night, the dog's don't like people who approach us or people who walk behind us. A year ago, I was assaulted while waiting for the bus. A man grabbed me and tried to steal my bag. My loving gentle Rottweiler reacted immediately! The attacker ended up needing two emergency surgeries to repair his face, he lost partial eye sight, and he received over 200 stitches in his face, neck, and upper arms. I'm grateful my dog was there to protect me that day because the cops told me that this man was high on drugs, he had a knife in his pocket, and he was accused of stabbing someone the day before. Rottweilers make fantastic body guards.

It's the scary guy's voice that's scary. There's probably a logical explanation as why these people are there. I've had strangers approach me innocently. In my younger years, when I worked 2nd shift, a homeless teenager approached me at 2:00a.m after my shift he meekly asked me if a had any money cause he was hungry and homeless. I bought him 6 tacos and a coke! He was SO grateful when I said I'd buy him something to eat, he started crying!

In our city there are minors openly carrying guns, unconcerned about being caught on camera and drive stolen cars with up to 4 youths getting into cars and mailboxes. Some have been confronted by police and the youths shot at the cops. The oldest wasn’t even old enough to drive. 3 hours from the southern border and we definitely get different offenders than most viewed on here.
