    31:44 Hindi movies don't follow three-act structure of script writing. We break our narrative in two halves (intermission/interval comes in b/w) and everything happens twice. In theatres, we h've 10 min break during the interval during which we eat snacks nd dicuss abt the movie nd then re-enter into it. 😅
    I like your reaction. This movie is set in older times when child marriage was common in rural areas. These films are little bit heavy since u need to absorb the cultural as well as the plot details of the narrative. I suggest you to start with smaller films with western sensibilities like Trapped, Queen, Neerja, Andhadhun, English Vinglish, Dear Maya, Secret superstar, Kapoor & sons etc

    05:21 "that's suppose to be him?😂" actually that's real him. Yes he is the Aamir Khan, known as Mr. Perfectionist. He had first put on weight from 70 Kg(154 pound) to 97 Kg(214 pound) with 38% body fat to do the old part in this movie and then he reduced body fat to 9% in 5 months to do the young part. And in 2016 when film released he was 51 years old and right now he is 58. No wonder he is called Mr. Perfectionist.

      I also have a North Indian friend from the same state as shown in the movie... He is quite muscular and physically strong but he's not at all a wrestler.. he is a techy person and a humble guy but he would never fight even though he has got the body to do so!

    @15:00 it's coz in India, and especially in Hinduism, people avoid eating meat and follow a vegetarian diet, for moral reasons. Especially in rural areas like these. Urban areas are more influenced by Western ideologies and cultures so we do eat meat. But in rural areas, most people are strictly vegetarians. Also, I saw a lot of people asking you to watch 3 Idiots... I'll chip in and say you've GOT to check it out. And also ZNMD. Undoubtedly 2 of the best movies from Bollywood.

      "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) is a great movie, but it is not a "foreign film" any more than Netflix's "Narcos" and "Narcos: Mexico". It is by Sony and Columbia Pictures AFTER Ang Lee, Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh, and most of the rest of the HK film industry fled the 1997 ChiCom takeover and moved to the US.

    Vegetarianism is a big thing in India (or at least was). Not only it was more expensive or even unaccesible to eat meat, but also it is considered that eating meat (or eggs) is not clean for a human being. It is tamas (dark) according to ayurveda. Healthy diet that leads man to contemplation is sattvic vegetarian food and rajasthic (spicy or sweet or savour) is considered to give some kind of restlesness to a man (or pleasure that is acceptable). Tamas (eating meat or eating too much) is considered to be not only uneasy on stomach but also it gives vibes that are low from the enlightement perspective of hinduistic or if you want yogic or buddhistic point of view on what humans should do in life. So it is a part of their religion like going to church is part of european christian traditions or as praying facing Mekka is part of muslim tradition. That is why mom was in such disagreement with their cooking and she said that that pot is not going back into her kitchen.

    16:40 the fact that the movie was based off a real thing is sad the father forced the daughter to go though what he wanted, saying “it for the best” when he’s really just doing it for him self :(
    (I’m Indian my luckily my parents don’t force me to do much like a certain job as long as I’m happy and get good grades there ok with me doing what ever)

    Indians mostly do not have a vegetarian diet. Stop pinning statements that are simply untrue. Majority of India (including majority of Hindus as well) are non-vegetarian and the statistical trend since the past few years has been moving towards a non-vegetarian diet. That doesn't mean most Indians consume non-vegetarian products everyday, 3 meals a day, but there is a lot of meat consumption (as well as being one of the largest meat exporters in the world) on a weekly basis. People need to stop living in a bubble that India is a vegetarian majority country. Yes we have a lot of vegetarians in the country but they are certianly not a majority.

    • @omm1362
      @omm1362 Год назад

      Yes they are in the majority. Read the facts not your perception .

    • @Karm.K
      @Karm.K Год назад

      @@omm1362 No they're not. Eating meat even once a week makes you a non-vegetarian. If you don't think so, then you are clearly delusional and there's no point in having a discussion. Get out of your bubble and look around. People in this country eat meat more frequently than you think, be it fish, chicken, mutton or egg, and in some cases pork and beef. Only 2-3 northwestern states in the country have a vegetarian majority. If you want to make absurd claims, back them up with statistical backing or credible sources. Warna gadhe ke aage been bajane ka shaunk mujhe to katay hi nahi h. You read the damn facts and stop being ignorant.

    Want to know about India?? There's more ways to get to know about it.
    But If you want to know from this movie. There's people from north India. Where they marry their daughters like before even reaching teenage. Female children are not considered to do great in their culture so they don't even get proper education for them. Only some "like rarely some" men think their daughters need something more and let them go to school, sports and everything.
    Some men may think that their daughters aren't getting enough freedom but they don't do anything to get her away from that situation worried about the criticism he'll face afterwards. Apart from these and some (political) circus stuffs India is great

    I think u need to understand the mindset in India, especially in the 2000s or earlier, Life was so tough for girls if they wanted to choose sports or any working profession mainly in tier 2 cities or villages. Now it has changed a lot but at that time early age marriage was so common in villages. Mahavir was a harsh parent but he did that to make them capable
