Great film. You'd also enjoy 3 Idiots and PK by the same actor.
PK yes, it's a terribly funny comedy.
But not as emotional as this, this movie is unequaled in Indian industry 🎉
Taare Zameen Paar (also starring Amir Khan) is also most excellent.
PK is an insult to the follower of Sanatan Dharma bet you would be the first one to ch0p his head if he would have made such movie against Islam.
Most of Aamir Khan's filmography is excellent, especially after 2000.

Indians mostly have a vegetarian diet. The reasons of not eating non vegetarian are mostly moral and religious.
Nope just 35% are vegetarian
LMAO that is so not true
@@shahjeelani2691 47% pure vegetarian. Some eat only 1 month one time
@@shahjeelani2691well everyone have not yet converted to Islam my brother. Some of Hindus are still alive.
@@RomitDholakia5 well many hindus eat non veg
It's not a religious thing my brother
31:44 Hindi movies don't follow three-act structure of script writing. We break our narrative in two halves (intermission/interval comes in b/w) and everything happens twice. In theatres, we h've 10 min break during the interval during which we eat snacks nd dicuss abt the movie nd then re-enter into it. 😅
I like your reaction. This movie is set in older times when child marriage was common in rural areas. These films are little bit heavy since u need to absorb the cultural as well as the plot details of the narrative. I suggest you to start with smaller films with western sensibilities like Trapped, Queen, Neerja, Andhadhun, English Vinglish, Dear Maya, Secret superstar, Kapoor & sons etc
Yes
Queen, English Vinglish, Kahaani, Neerja, Secret Superstar are great films with badass female lead
05:21 "that's suppose to be him?😂" actually that's real him. Yes he is the Aamir Khan, known as Mr. Perfectionist. He had first put on weight from 70 Kg(154 pound) to 97 Kg(214 pound) with 38% body fat to do the old part in this movie and then he reduced body fat to 9% in 5 months to do the young part. And in 2016 when film released he was 51 years old and right now he is 58. No wonder he is called Mr. Perfectionist.
lmao you bollywood fans are such w*nkers, always worshipping actors
A Fantastic Reaction 🎉
I believe that the ability to wrestle is not hereditary but the desire to achieve accomplishments is.
I didn't know that wrestling was such a big sport in India.
Thanks for the Entertainment ‼️
Technically yes! The ability to wrestle is hereditary! Those north west Indians are generally strong and muscular!
I have many friends from South who are very smart and technical while all my North Indian friends are a bit dumb but quite strong physically 💪😅
I also have a North Indian friend from the same state as shown in the movie... He is quite muscular and physically strong but he's not at all a wrestler.. he is a techy person and a humble guy but he would never fight even though he has got the body to do so!
I hope you get what I'm trying to say
@@p.k.953extreme level of generalization tbh
You Must watch 3 idiots, PK, RRR, Bahubali............and many more 😅❤
Rrr is cringe & cheesy.
@@MrRahul6464Lol bollywood wishes it has scripts as good as rrr
@@RohanKumaar i wish that day never comes. We are already suffering from madrasikaran of bollywood by making it more brainless industry.
@@MrRahul6464bro that same madrasikaran is the reason Indian cinema is getting recognition.....RRR getting worldwide recognition is an example of that and it's growth is pretty organic and you can't deny that. You need to understand that mass films is itself a genre and majority of people love it and that's the usp of Indian cinema.
@@yashsharma5388 it only get recognition due to the inclusiveness program which west runs for its own ulterior motives. RRR looks like a spoof movie but sadly its not. Apart from youtubers who hide their real feelings from getting online backlash. Real people took it as too bad to be too good category. Nobody looks upto RRR & says what a unique story or great acting. They enjoyed the ridiculous mind numbing action. & now sees all other Indian movie industry with same lense.
Just compare 3 idiots, PK, Dangal, Lagaan with RRR. RRR has no re-watch value.
Personally i don't like ideology of bollywood. But atleast it's only bollywood industry which has calibre to reach the sophistication which a good cinema requires.
That's why i oppose madrasikaran of bollywood.
Movie is great, but selected at wrong time, u need to absorb Indian culture more to watch these kind of movies,
Rather u should’ve started with “3 Idiots”, a timeless masterpiece, which can be seen multiple times without being bored. ❤ and probably u can relate with it too.
The reason the mom refused to cook chicken in her kitchen was because in India some people ( NOT ALL ONLY SOME!!) are strictly vegetarian. Whether it is for religious or cultural practices.
@15:00 it's coz in India, and especially in Hinduism, people avoid eating meat and follow a vegetarian diet, for moral reasons. Especially in rural areas like these. Urban areas are more influenced by Western ideologies and cultures so we do eat meat. But in rural areas, most people are strictly vegetarians. Also, I saw a lot of people asking you to watch 3 Idiots... I'll chip in and say you've GOT to check it out. And also ZNMD. Undoubtedly 2 of the best movies from Bollywood.
Lmao
You should see how much meat is cooked and eaten in villages
Not everything is related to western culture
I hate how indians blame everything on Westerners
What influence
Do everything indians do other than what you think is the best are influenced by brits
Indians use condoms cuz western influence
Indian men r@pe cuz west
We have pollution cuz west
We have religious issues cuz west
Why don't you blame the west for you unemployment
most idotic sentence ever eople were eating meat before religions were not even existing and even still 70% of Indians are non-veg

Finally, an international movie. Awesome. I recommend "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" starring Michelle Yeoh as a must watch!!
she should try watching some good international movies before going to Bollywood.
How about:
German:
"Das Boot" (1981)
Australian:
"The Lighthorsemen" (1987)
"The Road Warrior" (1981)
French:
"La Femme Nikita" (1990)
"Cyrano De Bergerac" (1990)
Russian:
"Aleksandr Nevsky" (1938)
"Battleship Potemkin" (1925)
Japanese:
"the Hidden Fortress" (1958)
"The Seven Samurai" (1954)
"Yojimbo" (1961)

"Genroku Chûshingura (The 47 Ronin) " (1941)
"Miyamoto Musashi" (1961)
"Nihonkai Daikaisen (Battle of the Japan Sea)" (1969)
Hong Kong:
"Wing Chun" (1994)
"Supercop" (1992)
"The Heroic Trio" (1993)
"Silverhawk"
"The Killer" (1989)
"Hard Boiled" (1992)
"Hard Boiled Killers" (1980)
"Once A Thief" (1991)
"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) is a great movie, but it is not a "foreign film" any more than Netflix's "Narcos" and "Narcos: Mexico". It is by Sony and Columbia Pictures AFTER Ang Lee, Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh, and most of the rest of the HK film industry fled the 1997 ChiCom takeover and moved to the US.

Lol at you not knowing what an intermission is 😂 Guess it's not a thing much in American movies but it's kind of a midway break point of the movie, in cinema halls this is the time people could go out and buy popcorn or use the bathroom. Usually 15 mins then the movie starts again
Vegetarianism is a big thing in India (or at least was). Not only it was more expensive or even unaccesible to eat meat, but also it is considered that eating meat (or eggs) is not clean for a human being. It is tamas (dark) according to ayurveda. Healthy diet that leads man to contemplation is sattvic vegetarian food and rajasthic (spicy or sweet or savour) is considered to give some kind of restlesness to a man (or pleasure that is acceptable). Tamas (eating meat or eating too much) is considered to be not only uneasy on stomach but also it gives vibes that are low from the enlightement perspective of hinduistic or if you want yogic or buddhistic point of view on what humans should do in life. So it is a part of their religion like going to church is part of european christian traditions or as praying facing Mekka is part of muslim tradition. That is why mom was in such disagreement with their cooking and she said that that pot is not going back into her kitchen.
India as of 2023 has a total vegetarian population of about 38% to 40% and it's the world's largest vegetarian populated country
Geeta and babita are from hariyana (they have lowest sex ratio in india 870 girls per 1000 boy's)and lots of crimes against women's (dowry, child marriage etc) but now it's changing because of girls like geeta ,babita and many more they're now kinda sports capital in india but lot to improve

This is a real story..
It's been twisted abit actually! So no, not all is true! I did research on the movie and talked about it in part 2 outro ❤️
any kind of animal cruelty is not tolerated in hinduism . but no one is stopping anyone from eating non veg expect beef
Eastern India's hindus and South India's hindus are Different.......
I am Bengali and I eat fish and we offered Fish in Temples......
In Rajasthan hindus also eat Mutton
......
And About Beef we don't touch that because we consider Cow representation of Mother Earth.......we drink Cow's milk We used cow dung as Fuel....also in many Old Indian Villages we used Cow dung in Farming as a organic Fertilizer....
Can you ask the same question why muslims don't eat pork

16:40 the fact that the movie was based off a real thing is sad the father forced the daughter to go though what he wanted, saying “it for the best” when he’s really just doing it for him self :(

Indian hindi movie song's is very nice for reactions.
Indians mostly do not have a vegetarian diet. Stop pinning statements that are simply untrue. Majority of India (including majority of Hindus as well) are non-vegetarian and the statistical trend since the past few years has been moving towards a non-vegetarian diet. That doesn't mean most Indians consume non-vegetarian products everyday, 3 meals a day, but there is a lot of meat consumption (as well as being one of the largest meat exporters in the world) on a weekly basis. People need to stop living in a bubble that India is a vegetarian majority country. Yes we have a lot of vegetarians in the country but they are certianly not a majority.
Yes they are in the majority. Read the facts not your perception .
@@omm1362 No they're not. Eating meat even once a week makes you a non-vegetarian. If you don't think so, then you are clearly delusional and there's no point in having a discussion. Get out of your bubble and look around. People in this country eat meat more frequently than you think, be it fish, chicken, mutton or egg, and in some cases pork and beef. Only 2-3 northwestern states in the country have a vegetarian majority. If you want to make absurd claims, back them up with statistical backing or credible sources. Warna gadhe ke aage been bajane ka shaunk mujhe to katay hi nahi h. You read the damn facts and stop being ignorant.

Want to know about India?? There's more ways to get to know about it.
But If you want to know from this movie. There's people from north India. Where they marry their daughters like before even reaching teenage. Female children are not considered to do great in their culture so they don't even get proper education for them. Only some "like rarely some" men think their daughters need something more and let them go to school, sports and everything.
Some men may think that their daughters aren't getting enough freedom but they don't do anything to get her away from that situation worried about the criticism he'll face afterwards. Apart from these and some (political) circus stuffs India is great
In answer to your question, this movie was not well received when it was released. Definitely checkout Janet Maslin's review in the NY Times.

I think u need to understand the mindset in India, especially in the 2000s or earlier, Life was so tough for girls if they wanted to choose sports or any working profession mainly in tier 2 cities or villages.
