Hello my dears, a bit of information up front: when I decided to recommend "The Graveyard Book" in this video, I was (blissfully, as they say) unaware how terrible the situation surrounding author Neil Gaiman is. I know there are people who like to separate authors and their works, but whilst he is a talented author, I no longer wish to support him and will no longer recommend his books as I want Brews & Books to be a safe place for everyone. I hope you can understand and whish you a beautiful sunday ❤
This is such a fantastic list for those of us who adore a little chill with our cozy reads! 📚❄👻 Middle grade books often have the perfect balance of eerie and heartwarming, making them such enjoyable reads for any age. Pairing these stories with a blanket and a hot drink sounds like the ultimate way to spend a winter evening. ☕✨ Thanks for sharing these recommendations 💕
The most delightful and magical way of book recommendations :) I just want to transport myself to that comfy chair near the fire and taste the lovely pastry and drinks 🥰
I read Wait Till Helen Comes recently! I actually got a Mary Downing Hahn boxed set with a bunch of her little spookies. The Doll in the Garden is also lovely.
Oh, thank you so much for the recommendation! 🤗 "Wait Till Helen Comes" was the first book I read by Mary Downing Hahn, but I definitely want more of her stories! I've heard a lot of good things about "Took", maybe you've read that too and can tell me if you liked it? 😊📚
Need to take a moment to say how incredible this channel is! Your content is so carefully curated and makes me feel like I've entered a cozy historical fantasy world, where you run the local cafe and bookshop. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us! I hope you continue to grow because you belong up there with the best cozy creators on YT. 🙂❤
Another great video! I'm always taking notes on the books that interest me. The only one I had read here was City of Ghosts which I enjoyed. Thanks for such wonderful videos!
I'm delighted to hear that this video included lots of new book recommendations for you 😊📚 I always try to include a nice mix of beloved classics and lesser known gems per genre, so there's something for everyone. Thank you so much for your kind comment 🤗❤️
@@amomentofwonder I look forward to your videos and have been going through the older ones. Have you considered making a cookbook of your recipes sometime? I don't know anything about what's involved in that, but I bet it would be great! Thanks again for providing a little escape from such a stressful world right now.❤
There is something so pure and lovely about middle grade stories that I have always loved. I find myself reading them here and there. Thanks for this list of inspiring tales. I am reading the Shades of Magic series by Victoria Schwab now so it was fun learning about City of Ghosts. I have read several Neil Gaiman books but never heard of The Graveyard Book before! Cool. Of Salt and Shore lures me in the most.
Hehe, same here! The first volume was great, and I was very pleased to learn that it's the start of a series, but I haven't got round to finishing the other books yet 📚😊 I wish us both happy reading 😉
Hehe, happy I had some interesting book recommendations for you 📚😊 And the little ghost is certainly a great reading buddy - I found the mug on Amazon last year 🫖👻
I don't see enough recommendations for The Clackity. It was a book that was so touching for me, it was an emotional rollercoaster reading it because I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks so I knew Evie...I understood her. Such a great creepy middle grade!
Agreed! I only picked it up by chance, and after reading it I wondered why I hadn't heard of it before? I found it pleasantly dark and creepy, and heavier themes (like the panic attacks) very carefully handled. Have you also read the following volumes? I hope parts two and three are just as enjoyable 📚❤️
So much atmosphere in your videos! I watched this on our TV which made it even more atmospheric ❤ I listened to The Graveyard Book last autumn, its perfect to listen too while baking autumn treats 😊 I started to listen to another book of his, The Ocean at the end of the Lane this autumn but I gave up after a while, it was too creepy 😅 and reminded me of his crimes. Ugh!
Thank you for being a channel of wonderful book recommendations and lovely ambiance! You inspire me to put together much-needed reading and treat sessions for myself. May I also ask where you got your beautiful belt? I love your fashion sense!
Thank you so much for this lovely comment ❤️ I hope you will be able to schedule some time for peaceful reading time with tea and treats in the future - its so very good for the soul 📚🥧🫖 I bought the belt on Etsy years ago and the seller has since moved to his own website: peraperis.com The belt is the model ‘Bertholdin’ 👍😊
@@amomentofwonderThank you for your kind response and a link to the shop for the belt! I really appreciate it ♥️ I was recently gifted a book by my dear friend, so I’ll be spending some time with that soon, along with a scone and some tea! I’ve put The Clackity in my reading queue, as well 😊 Take care, and thank you again! 🫖📚✨
Nessa, I just finished reading a wonderful children’s graphic novel, and I think you’d like it. It is called ‘Bog Myrtle’ by Sid Sharp. It is funny, strange, and also has beautiful messages about kindness, respecting the environment, and sustainably. It also has charming illustrations. Thank you for another lovely video! It has become a relaxing part of m6 routine to watch your channel each week. It feels like visiting a friend. 🙂
Oh, thank you so much for the recommendation my dear 📚 I ordered "Bog Myrtle" without reading the blurb or anything - if you say it's funny, weird and beautifully illustrated, I'm sure I'll like it too ❤️ Thank you so much for stopping by every week, and for your lovely comments! 🤗
@ Wow, I am honoured by your trust in my opinion! I hope you’ll love the book too. In the acknowledgments, the author thanked “all of my friend’s cats’ which I thought was adorable, haha! To me, this book is definitely Goblincore.

I love middle grade horror. It's just spooky enough but still feels cozy.
Agreed! That's exactly what I like so much about it - and that you don't have to worry about stumbling over gory scenes 📚🫖
Just what I was gona say ☆* 👍

What a great presentation, wonderful idea. I love middle grade. I read most of these
Thank you for the kind words! 🤗 If you, as a fellow middle grade lover, have any recommendations for me, please let me know 📚😉

A good selection of books to pick from. I still have to finish the City of Ghosts series and enjoyed it very much!!

What were the drinks you served? The third one especially looked unique and delicious!
In the video description there is a small list with all the books from the video and their respective treats and drinks 😊🫖🥧
My 2025 WTR list just got longer 😊 Love the ghost mug!

Hello from Spain! Beautiful video! Thanks for the pleasant viewing!
Thank you Tati, I hope you are doing well 🤗❤️
I need this coffee shop to exist in real life, exactly like this
Me too! 😉 I've been dreaming of a book café like this since I was a child... let's see if it comes true one day 🫖🥧
