My 9 year old daughter loves watching your videos, these ones were a bit scary for her but she insisted to watch to the end anyway 😊 She has requested if you could do some young adult/middle grade books - any genre, she just wants more to read (she's reading Hedgewitch right now and loving it!)
I don't think I have enough kids/middle grade books left that haven't been featured in the Brews & Books videos already, so i won't be able to to a video on this genre 🤔📚 I hope a short list does the trick ❤️ - Author Sophie Anderson writes wonderfully magical and fantastical books. I already mentioned "The Girl who speaks bear" and "The Snow Girl" in the last video as perfect tales for the winter time, but I also read and loved "The House with the chicken legs". I could imagine that her other books are similarly wholesome. - Phyllis Reynolds Naylor has a series of books about two friends who suspect their old neighbour is a witch. The story is a touch dark and occasionally a tad creepy (from a childs perspective) but I loved it as a child and still sometimes re-read the books today. Volume one is called "The Witch's Sister." - Kiersten White has a (currently) 5 part series about twins who solve mysteries on summer holiday destonations. I featured "Camp Creepy" in my Summerween video because it was a good fit, but the whole series is recommended. It's called "The Sinister Summer Series" and part one is called "Wretched Waterpark." - "The Grace of Wild Things" is kind of a retelling/ heavily based on "Anne on Green Gables" but with witches and magic, and in my view a very cosy book that i found very comforting. - "Kiki's Delivery Service", the novel the popular Ghibli film was based on, is a wonderfully gentle and imaginative story. These are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head, I hope there's something in there that your daughter might like, even if it's not in video form 🤗 I hope she continues to enjoy reading Hedgewitch! 🧙♀️
