today, I’m excited to share with you nine spooktacular scary stories that are absolutely perfect for Summerween! 🎃👻 As you know, I love a good spine-tingling tale, and these stories are just the right mix of eerie and thrilling - without being too gory, disgusting or downright horryfying .
In today’s video, there’s something for everyone: entertaining and fun stories reminiscend of 80s horror movies, thrillers filled with suspense and unexpected twists, as well as summery books set in summer camps.

Welcome to the Brews & Books, indeed! I just spent the last minute sipping on my own brew (okay, it was just tea, but still) and devouring the spine-tingling tales you so masterfully wove together. And let me tell you, my eyes were GLUED to the screen - but not just because of the scary stories/ books!
I was equally mesmerized by the spread of drinks and eats you had prepared. I mean, who needs jump scares when you've got a perfectly poured glass of vanilla milk shake or a deliciously crafted charcuterie board? My eyes were so fixed on those goodies that I think I might have temporarily forgotten how to blink. It was like my brain was saying, 'Scary stories/books, yes, but FOOD, TOO?'😂😂🙈

Your Books and Brews series are videos that I click on as soon as I see them. I have read three of the books you recommended and was able to get a couple through Libby. This was so cozy I wanted to climb right through the screen so I could actually be in Books and Brews where I would promptly buy one of everything off the menu! I totally get that spooky stories are not for anyone, it depends for me, too: Entertaining, slightly scary stories (similar to the ones people used to tell each other at sleepover parties or around the campfire)? Yes, please! 👍
A lot of blood, gore, violence and masked murderers? Big no! 👎😱
I can't watch any scary movies either, the slightest jumpscare and I'm off and hiding under the comforter, haha 😂😉

I know exactly what you mean - I don't like it too scary either 😉 But you might like "The Haunting of Aveline Jones", it really is a great book for a rainy autumn day. Ideally accompanied by a cup of hot chocolate, which also helps against the little creeps, haha 🫖🧡
I think I read The Winter Sea for the first time two years ago - how can it be that I totally missed that there was a prequel? 😱 I'll pop straight into my local bookshop and order it too 🤗

@amomentofwonder oh yes, you where the one that made me read The Winter Sea! 🤣 I was thinking totally wrong. Must have been another book you said you would get after watching one of my videos. The Vanished Days are different from her other books, its only set in historical time. Have you read others of her books? I've borrowed another ny her from the library, that I will read next week. Going home tomorrow... Aveline Jones sounds great too. I have some witchy books I'm going to read in October 🥰
