OMG Sara…. I just read two 5 star mystery/thriller books…. Local Woman Missing & Midnight Is The Darkest Hour… The latter by Ashley Winstead who was about to be a “never read again” author after IMDIHAK was good but forgettable and DNFing The Last Housewife 🤷🏻♂️ Highly recommend audio for MITDH as the narrator is perfection 👌🏽 You are spot on about The Girls I’ve Been… Love that book…. Also agree with Daisy Darker, Last Mrs Parrish, Blood Sugar, & The Night She Disappeared…. All above 4 stars
Thanks for all of the great suggestions, I pretty much added all of them to my TBR list - all but the ones I've already read 😁 Thrillers are what tend to grab me the most when I'm book shopping, but it's also the genre that's the most hit or miss when it comes to how much I enjoy them. Trying to think of suggestions to add to the list... Loved Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone and Everyone on this Train is a Suspect from Benjamin Stevenson, and The One from John Marrs. All three felt very unique and I could not put them down.
After watching way too much Booktube over the past couple years, I’ve come to a strange realization. Women don’t care nearly as much about endings as men do. I don’t know what that means, not trying to go there. But anytime I hear “the ending was ok but I loved the ride” it’s always from a woman. Not saying one is a better viewpoint than the other but it’s built in me a mistrust of female booktube reccs. Maybe women have an easier time being immersed in the present moment while men, including me, are waiting for an ending to blow us away? It’s interesting.
Daisy Darker BETTER than And Then There Were None?? Fair enough, but so hard for me to believe. I consider ATTWN my favorite AC and the best whodunit I've ever read.
Oh, if you love And then there were none, read The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji. Same concept, but the twist I wouldn't have guessed in a million years (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but daaaaammmmnn).
Where have you been all my YT literary life. You are my new go to reviewer. Love mysteries and psych thrillers. Your are on it! Thanks for the reviews.
I’m going to have to check out Blood Sugar, since my dad was a type 1 diabetic all my live. I do have trauma events with his low blood sugar.

Listen up or rewind. That’s an option. Or you can go into your settings and slow down the video. Your choice.
