    Bye bye wheel bearing 👋
don't get me wrong, building something like this with his kid is AWESOME and I'm all for it, but you need to do things properly.
Judging by the way this thing is built it's going to see some heavy work, I don't think it's "Just a toy"

@@MaxMolotko the bearings looked dry...or very lightly greased. They need to be completely packed full of grease for them to operate properly so they don't wear out quickly. The guy just took a finger full of grease and wiped it on the outside. That bearing will wear out much more quickly than it should. It probably only has about 2% of the grease it requires.

That axle looks like a floating axle and shouldnt have any Grease on it and will buy lubed by oil from the diff. I can be wrong

Respectfully, I strongly suggest you open up those wheel bearings and add more grease when it comes to wheel bearings most of the time there is no such thing as too much grease with the amount of grease you have in there you are begging for a bearing to seize. If you are going to do any serious work with that tractor, you might even consider installing a grease fitting into each of the wheel bearing housings.

@@jgalloway528the steer axle is grease hubs the rears may be ok if gear lube oiled by the differential but that would require lifting each side of the drive axle individually (tipping it to left and right sides to get the lube to the axle ends) while topping up the oil to make sure it gets to the wheel bearings before driving the machine...

Im not like the last Contributor being respectful. STOP USING THE TRACTOR IT IS NOT SAFE. UNEXPECTED BEARING SEIZURES CAN LEAD TO HANDLING MALFUNCTION CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. All those bearings you installed are heading for the scrap bin very quickly without any other damage that will be caused when they SEIZE. There are available videos on RUclips on how to pack a bearing with grease. You can also purchase from any bearing shop, Autoparts Shop and hardware stores a bearing packer kit. You have to have a reputable greasegun. THe bearing is placed in the packer unit and youjust pump grease until it comes out past every roller or ball bearing etc. As has been previouslly stated you can't overpack the bearing, For that tractor, I would expect to use two cartridges possibly three. Any excess grease is pushed into the housing and provides a form of reserve and retention of the grease in the bearing..

please learn how to correctly hand grease a tapered bearing slathering grease on the outside of the rollers is no good... put a dab of grease on your palm then drag the tall side of the bearing into the grease in your palm until grease come out between the rollers on the other side then rotate to the next roller position all the way around the bearing the way shown in this video will cause the bearings to run without lubrication causing premature failure. there are many videos on how to correctly grease a tapered roller bearing a good youtube video on this is...

      @@lordirras 1) I'm not a keyboard mechanic I'm a well certified mechanic ase a1-a8 t1-t3, Medically retired 63h/91h
2)even on slow speed vehicles you can destroy the bearings by not properly greasing them this can become dangerous specially when the bearings lock up from improper greasing which at even 10mph can cause a wheel to lock up or axle to break causing a wheel to come off and the machine to rollover
