The trails are gone, the gates are locked, the river has changed its course and the land owners have changed. The fishing holes are no longer and everyone is scared of anyone they don't know (for good reason). The first thing I usually hear from someone is: How fast will that bike go? To be honest: I'm afraid to tell them the truth because I know they will freak out.

    • @raytschudy8643
      @raytschudy8643 2 года назад +1

      @@Panda-ws7cp actually you can’t. The motor power doesn’t go that low, only down to 3000 on Eco mode. The law is that the motor cannot be RATED at more than 750watts. Tuning in down using the controller does not change the rating. Also even if you could limit the power that low then it wouldn’t even be as good as a normal class three bike since it weighs a lot more and the pedal kits are crap with only one gear.
      Lots of people have gotten citations riding them in CA and some have had them towed and impounded.
      Pull your head out of your ass.

    FOR CALIFORNIA RIDERS: in LA/OC if you get the Kaniwaba power pedal kit and keep it under 29mph, wearing a dot approved helmet… it is now legally a class 3 e-bike and can have the benefits of both on/off road, bike paths, etc.
    everyone’s location carries different weight. So know your DMV states laws for ebikes inside/out. As far as registration goes… I understand the fear of “the more we put our bikes on government paper, the more the government will push towards making it a standard.” Let’s just keep it civil and love one another on/off road.❤️ however I definitely am IN FAVOR of keeping things in the gray area here in California. To each his own though. All good👌

      There are a ton of rules already in place for motorized bikes. People have been strapping engines to bikes for decades. Follow the rules and don't ride on paths you aren't allowed to be on, if your bike goes too fast - go get licensed. My area is full of idiot e-bikers who think because it's electric they don't have to follow any of the rules and the amount of times I have seen them almost smoke walkers/runners is way too high.

    These bikes are outlawed in all CA state parks now (except ohv parks, which at that point, you might as well have an actual motorcycle). Some Counties might allow them but Sonoma does not. Sonoma County parks don't even allow the slow Class 1,2,3 bikes. Not sure where you'd ride an E dirt bike in Sonoma County. There are no OHV parks in Sonoma County, so I guess on the street would be the only option (or on private land).

Now the duplex we lived in on 4th street looked like it had a lot of money put into i did notice that. it was funny to see the old toys r us building i worked at on cherry ave had been turned into a best buy.

Who do you think would be at fault if the old guy tripped on a stick and fell back into that path at the wrong time. KID learn before you speak. Anyone that has practiced enough to safely go down those trails at that speed wouldn't even dream of doing that. They have enough experience to know just how dumb that is. See anyone good at something also wouldn't tell someone to not worry themselves over a obviously dangerous thing to be doing, should be quite because they aren't practiced enough to speak on it.

    Here in Australia these bikes are illegal for road or bike paths and parks. You must have pedal assist activation limited to about 25 kmh or 19 mph of assistance then the motor back off if you ride faster on pedal Power. Under guys riding higher power pedal and the police see to leave them be as long as they're pedalling. I've heard if guys getting these bikes confiscated if could on the road.

    • @corail53
      @corail53 2 года назад

      Same in Canada. If you want to go faster - you have to get it registered, have lights and signals and obey the rules of the road. Most people out here ignore this however and think because they ride E-bikes they can go and do whatever they want. It is causing a bit of a problem on purpose built heavy use hiking/running/walking paths with people almost getting hit.

    Too bad you can’t take that Surron to Sapwi BP. Looks like you may need to build a set of trails or pump track for some good content. Maybe buy a kicker ramp and find some good hills to send.

    Police should consider getting these for the job. Maybe scooters for an even quieter approach. They have bicycle cops, may as well have them on e-bikes with swappable batteries. Nimble, fast, quiet, reliable.

    speed limit in CA is about 29mph only and that means that's as fast as it can actually go. I've been riding for my ebike for 10 years. People are going to ruin it for us real commuters.

    • @schutztruppe
      @schutztruppe 2 года назад

      almost sounds the same here in CA. The problem with people is that they are vehicles on bikes but never follow the laws. I've seen a lot of people riding fast with no helmet or even lights. 20mph is fast. They ride on the sidewalk fast and never stop at stop signs. I did see one guy get a ticket for something a few weeks ago. It should save his life in the future. i have a coworker that rides a road bike and is one "those" road bikers no one like and he just got an
      ebike.....he's already told that he runs stops signs. I told him he should count his days with that way of riding an ebike on the road.
