This is one if the best you’ve offered; concise explanations to the relevant issues most of us ponder. You’re making the casinos less of the bad guys and putting the onus on the players. Before I started watching your videos I would sit next to players all the time complaining that the casino “turned them off because it’s dead today”, meaning there wasn’t as much play so they didn’t want to pay out. I’ve been so unlucky with 3 reel low volatile slots at CET Vegas that I will stop playing them starting from my trip to Vegas next week. Past year, I’ve had 8 sessions at CET High limit ($10-$100 bets) and lost all 8 with devastating results without a single hand pay. I had 2 sessions at non Vegas / non CET casinos (Rivers Chicago & Ameristar Indiana) and got hand pays at both. It’s either the lower RTP or just bad luck at CET in Vegas.

Every retail joint encounters the same issue, they use the "sale" method to offset this, plus it gets rid of slow moving stock. McDonalds doesn't change the price of their burgers between Christmas and Easter due to the "new Year gym fad" that occurs where everyone is on a weight loss diet and no longer buying big macs same as casinos and slot machines. The machine will pay for itself many times over (as well as cover those comps from the casino) during its lifespan.
How can you guarantee that it will hit the intended rate after 10MIL spins? Being 100% RNG, what keeps some machines from heavily favoring the player or house even after several million spins.

Go to Deadwood, SD when you get a chance. Nearly every bar on their strip has a small slot area. I didnt do well there, but I stayed at a Super 8 motel nearby that had a slot room. They had numerous machines that had tags on them which said they had verified payouts over 1 million spins. I did pretty well in there.

I was under the impression your just a "regular joe" , playing for fun and hopefully profit. Since subscribing to this channel I have used your methods for building a bankroll on 3 separate occasions, and doubled my money. Doing much better than my hubby. Even giving him an extra $100 of my bankroll to continue to play(he's skeptical and broke). I don't try for jackpot, just double my money and go home. I feel that is more practical. Hubby has made comments that you guys are employees, not regular Joe's. So what's the deal, are you just paid to gamble to get the rest of us hot and bothered?
My Question is about online slot play. I e been playing for a couple years now online more often. Why does a machine pay out so much and with so many bonuses when you first start or sign up? I saw an article about the RNG's being changed in Vegas and then it changed most of the casinos to have the RNGs so that people lost more. It seems like casino's pull machines (sometimes a whole bank of them) when they're paying a lot. This has happened multiple times at the casino I go to. I win win win on a particular machine and can't wait to go back but find when I get there the machine has been moved or removed. I don't know, seems wrong.
Casinos pull machines from the floor for a variety of reasons but none of them are because of them paying out or not. Older machines are often replaced due to lack of parts and get resold or traded for newer machines. On the flip side, newer machines are leased from the game maker and can be swapped out by them for newer titles.
I wish the casinos were regulated to put the payback %/rtp on the machine like in places like Wales. I’m not sure if that’s all of Europe or certain countries.

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere, but when it comes to RTP, what exactly does that mean as far as money returned? If a machine is set to 95% RTP, does that mean that over the long term 95% of the spins will yield at least the players bet back? Or is it that 95% of the spins will yield some amount back (whether it’s $.02 or $2,000)?
It means that if it's set at 95% Payback, 95% of all the money going into the machine will be returned back to the player. So, let's say the machine has had $1,232,434.00 put through it, $61,621.70 of that would go to the house (casino) and $1,170,812.30 will be paid back to the players. There will be variance though - meaning, in the short term, it could be paying back only 20% to the player or over 100% back to the player (like the example in this video). But, over a long period of time, about 10,000,000 spins on the game, it will come close to the 95% setting on the machine.
Does every small hit, ie mixed bars, count into the payback? For example, the smallest hits that are meant to keep you going, do those little tiny hits along the way count toward the overall payback? I would imagine they do, but since they are so small and don’t make much of a positive effect on your session, they don’t feel like payback, but they are. Can you verify?

Cruise ships are regulated just like any land based casino. They don't publicly release return to player stats or payback % setting information. However, they are consistent with land based casinos and have legal minimums that they have to abide by.

Don't think of it as behaving differently after 10,000,000 spins, each spin is still an independent event. It's just that the more spins a machine does, the more the AVERAGE becomes closer to the payback % setting.

Nope, it can be removed the day after it was installed if they wanted to, although they don't typically do that. Casinos are only interested in one thing and one thing only. Are people playing the game? If they aren't, they will relocate it or they will replace it.
No. 10 million is just the average number of spins it takes a machine to come within 90% confidence of its theoretical payback. Majority of slots on the floor have already well exceeded that.

You misunderstood what we were saying. The stats were off during covid because the variance was greater. Less results, more variance. It doesn’t mean the machines paid any different than they normally do, it’s how the accounting reporting works.

This has been a topic that I haven't agreed with the guys on entirely. Slot payback percentage DOES matter, especially if you play slots without massive jackpots or these big expensive machines with movie/show licenses.Your money will typically last longer! I'm sure Aria treats them well but if you want better payback percentage, take a short cab to a locals casino or downtown. Less frills the better! Also, I've always found that these reports show very favorable increase with 5 cent denom compared to penny. They are usually as good as dollar denom.
@@CowboySlots thoughts on the 5 cent denom comment? It's usually 4% points better than penny! Between this, and being on a low volatile machine, your money typically last longer, even short term.
You have to consider that there are far fewer nickel machines than penny machines. Because of this, the "swings" (also called variance) that you see in the RTP stats can be misleading. For example, the quarter flipping example. Imagine you flip a nickel 100 times. You might end up with 63% heads, even though it should be closer to 50%. Now, flip a penny 10,000 times, you're going to be probably very close to 50%. So, seeing the nickel at 63% heads, you might be convinced that it's a better overall play. However, the odds are still 50%. Make sense?
In the RTP stats we looked at in this video, the number of penny machines reporting in the month of June 2023 was 45,055 and the number of nickel machines was 899. Big difference there.
The biggest money maker for the casino is ignorance. If you go in with a better understand of how the machines actually work, not get caught up in myths, and budget responsibly then you become a smart gambler and have a better time in the casino.

Yes, it does - but it's a separate line item (at least in Nevada).
So you use the $25 denomination, for example. Does that include the multi denom machines?

You misunderstood what we were saying. The stats were off during covid because the variance was greater. Less results, more variance. It doesn’t mean the machines paid any different than they normally do, it’s how the accounting reporting works.

This has been a topic that I haven't agreed with the guys on entirely. Slot payback percentage DOES matter, especially if you play slots without massive jackpots or these big expensive machines with movie/show licenses.Your money will typically last longer! I'm sure Aria treats them well but if you want better payback percentage, take a short cab to a locals casino or downtown. Less frills the better! Also, I've always found that these reports show very favorable increase with 5 cent denom compared to penny. They are usually as good as dollar denom.

You have to consider that there are far fewer nickel machines than penny machines. Because of this, the "swings" (also called variance) that you see in the RTP stats can be misleading.
For example, the quarter flipping example. Imagine you flip a nickel 100 times. You might end up with 63% heads, even though it should be closer to 50%.
Now, flip a penny 10,000 times, you're going to be probably very close to 50%.
So, seeing the nickel at 63% heads, you might be convinced that it's a better overall play. However, the odds are still 50%. Make sense?
In the RTP stats we looked at in this video, the number of penny machines reporting in the month of June 2023 was 45,055 and the number of nickel machines was 899. Big difference there.
