One of the greatest musicians in history. Blinded as a child in Georgia, his loving mother sent him to a state school for the blind in Florida. Knowing his life was going to be tough as a black and blind man she wanted him educated and independent. There he learned piano and eventually setting out as a young man to get far from the south, he went to Seattle and the rest as they say is history. In ‘62/‘62, when the music buzz was wilting he cut the Modern Sounds In Country Music and he brought the people back into the record stores in record breaking droves! “Worried Mind” still the best example of country, blues, jazz combination piano and singing EVER!
Mr Ray Charles has hit the number 1 spot in The Netherlands with many of his beautiful songs, and also this one. I used to sing his music in the bathroom when nobody could hear me, so I thought. I have taken his music with me all over the world. Now I am old and back in Holland where I will take his music with me into my grave.

I am sure you are right. Eddy Arnold thought of the title and explained that title to others, but it was when he said it to Cindy Walker, that it became the beautiful song, lyrics and melody. Maybe it was touching a lot of people's emotions just a bit too much. I love it and cover it too, but I am an amateur.

Now I am old and back in Holland where
I will take his music with me into my grave.
Wow how did I get to 44 and only just heard this version... Soulful voice that catches the heart..... Dec 2020
I'm 29 and hearing it for the first time. June 2021.
Poor you... I grew up with this beautiful song and so many more like it; born in 1959. If you want more of this style of music, PLEASE do yourself a favor and listen to Frank Sinatra's Christmas album - it will blow you away....🤗
36 and just heard it recently for the first time. His music is so beautiful
BEAUTIFUL LOVE ALL SONGS, I'D SIT BY MY MOMMA AS SHE LISTENED TO THIS SONG, I MISS YOU MOMMA, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC 🎶 I NOW LOVE, 😭😭😭
I remember this song, back when the words "makin' love" were rarely said out loud! Of course, I was very young! I loved anything this man sang and still do, many years later!

Just sung by him. It was written by Cindy Walker
@@briankettleson290, And what a song writer she was.
Glad am around to be able to appreciate these songs
One of the greatest artists off all time a genius
I sought his songs after seeing Ray... The best chance I took was telling a woman i was crazy about her. We're 2 year's married now. Fellas take a chance worst she can say is no
While so many artists have recreated this song, and some of them have been done well .There is NO way that Mr. Charles' rendition will ever be classified as the 2nd best. THIS is it. The Perfection~~
Top class ray he legend..remember my dad loved playing this tune after few beers with me and me bros..love from ireland 👍👍
A giant in music history. A blues, jazz and soul icon, a first class crooner.. and so on and so on ....

Reduces me to a puddle of tears every time. And what a handsome man. I’m sure someone told him, hey, you’re not just astronomically talented but you’re good looking too. 👍. Saw him in concert, so glad I had the chance.
I would be surprised if there wasnt anyone who couldnt relate to this tune.
Ray blew the lid off of country music when he recorded songs like this. He knew just how to pile on the heartache, and country fans loved it.
This song is soooo GORGEOUS !!!...made even more lovely by the VELVET VOICE of Ray Charles....listening to this takes me to a HAPPY PLACE :-)

Nobody else can light up this song with so much heart and soul as Ray Charles. His was, still is, and will always be my favorite version of this song - the quintessential recording.
This is so great can't hardly listen to it all the way through. So good it needs to be relished a little at a time.
So true
Great tune. Ray Charles was one of my Mom's favorite artist and I use to hear this song playing in our home a lot. He is a wonderful pianist and singer!!!
Très belle mélodie , voix unique c' est Ray Charles qui enchante tout ce qu' il interprète dans tous les styles.
The happiest thing in life is when someone love you and you love them back ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Priceless ❤️☺️
Ray, man, the man could sing. I love the fact that since COVID, so many young people are listening to all the old 60’s and 70’s music I grew up on. Listen to Allison Krauss version, it will make you cry
It’s late at night and somehow I landed here listening to this song thinking back to all the times my mother and I listened to this records when I was growing up.
We’re fortunate to have music like this.
Just listen to the great music of Ray Charles. Look at him sit at that piano. All his music is good.
