Thanks Kevin ! For a long time I was thinking this watch was too big , but after wearing quite a few other 42mm watches I'm seriously considering buying one !
@@WrongTimeWatch Agree. Whenever had the chance at one under $300….so now I have several colorways, plus the chronos (quartz) for $160 new. Very nice watches.
These are great watches. And like you said, really tough to beat in terms of value proposition. Swiss made diver from an established company with real history for $350?!? Yea. That'd solid.
The only problem I have, is that I bought too many of them, LOL. I could probably get an even nicer Swiss diver with what I have into Glycine Combat Subs.
@@WrongTimeWatch Ah, man I know exactly what you mean... When I consider all the money I've spent over the years on affordable sub $1000 watches, it kind of makes me sick realizing I couldve probably purchased a Patek Phillipe if I'd just saved that money instead 😅 But then again, what's the fun in that? Lol
I picked up a Combat Sub GL0076 in September of '19 from Costco for $289.99. It's a great watch and it definitely punches well above its weight in terms of value. I love the slim profile combined with the decent WR rating. The biggest thing about it for me was that I discovered Glycine as a brand through it. My current favorite is an Airman DC-4, which I picked up over the 2020 holidays and which has been almost exclusively found on my wrist ever since.
I had a Purist Airman for a bit, however I sold it. A few months ago. I really did like the watch, but I have too many watches. So, it did not make the cut.
Great review. I just picked up a new GL0092 Combat Sub for $315 and I agree, it is the best value proposition of entry level Swiss divers. I'm thinking of getting a Barton Elite silicone strap for it and also a few NATOs.
I have the same watch . Great everyday value . Sapphire , awesome legibility, excellent date wheel honestly better than most watches costing much more . Robust crown feels bombproof . Also bracelet finishing punches above its weight very nice tone and fine brushing . It’s the first (cheap watch ) watch I recommend to everyone.
Really nice colors on this. The black and orange is really cool. Given the sheer value of these watches, I did consider adding one to my collection a couple of times. For some reason the 42mm size put me off for this. I would have been more tempted by a 40.
The Glycine is actually a decent company and particular model is great. Bought first the 46mn, found it a bit large for what I wanted and then bought the 42mm. Price to quality you get way more for what you've paid for. The end links are almost identical to Halios Tropik SS. They are slightly curved to fit the case despite the fact that the case there appears flat. This watch might be the slimmest 200m diver. The only downside is the clasp which I've changed on both, other than that are great. Thanks Kevin:) Enjoy the Zelos btw and if I were you would keep the Glycine, looks great on you.
The thickness or thinness is one of the best things about this watch. I recorded this video a while ago, and yes I noticed that prices have gone up now.
I got the GL0089 (similar to Rolex bluesy) and it was $320/£240. That’s SKX money and I’m really happy with mine, due to the slim case it works great on a nato. The rubber strap was really stiff but I curled it in a small cup and poured boiling water from a kettle orange it before my shower. By the time I got out and ran it under cold water it was curved nicely to fit my wrist 👍🏼👍🏼
Yep, ISO 6425 standards. Equipped with a diving time indicator (e.g. rotating bezel, digital display, or other). This device shall allow the reading of the diving time with a resolution of 1 min or better over at least 60 min.
I wear a Glycine every day and it's a fantastic piece for the money.
I totally agree, I have yet to find a swiss watch that is a better value.
Thanks Kevin !

42 mm diameter is not bad, but the 50 mm L2L might be an issue for you.
My go-to Combat price on bracelet is
You simply can't go wrong with picking one up. Well unless your wrist is my size or smaller.

@@WrongTimeWatch Mine is a GMT model, not a purist. I don't think that I could get used to the 24 hour clock face for time at a glance.

I agree 40 mm would be better for me as well, or at least a short lug to lug. Maybe 48 mm.

Thank you. I have quite a few more combat subs. I will keep one and sell the rest. I have not worn one on the bracelet yet.
They are a great value. I bought one in COSTCO for $265 and flipped it NITB for $310. Great watch, but I prefer the Samurai.
I never did see one at my Costco. I had a Samurai for a bit and should that as well. A tad big too big for my preference.
Thats a good looking everyday watch.....
Most definitely, and you won't feel too bad about losing it or breaking it.
Great watch 😍🔥💣
I agree, It is one my my favorite watches.
I have that same watch, it's pretty decent for the price.
I agree. Hard to beat for the price. I remember when they were close to $1,000.
@@WrongTimeWatch yeah I think I paid like 400 maybe 2 years ago
@@jodysilvia2 still a good price for the watch. I paid the same from Massdrop years ago as well.
I've had a couple in the past, seems they have gone up recently in price like almost everything else. I like the slim case on these.

What makes you think you need all 60 ticks on the bezel to be a dive watch?
If you don't have at least 60 clicks, then you can't properly time every minute.
👍
Have you had one yet?
@@WrongTimeWatch several. They are great watches!
Hello wrist size?
42 mm
This is not an actual dive watch because it doesn’t have every min on the bezel? Submariner owners are in for a shock.
