"Step-By-Step" Vaillant Diverter Valve Repair.

  • In this video I repair a Vaillant diverter valve rather than replace it. I am woken up by my family with not hot water in the house. No showers for anyone.... I forgot to add the oil boiler footage and deleted it by mistake. I have added some bonus video of my son doing the boiler service. He didn't want to be filmed so I only have a little video.
    This Baxi Combi Boiler had be diagnosed by two different heating engineers and now it's time to find out who is right. Boiler repairs are not easy and everyone makes mistakes. This video is not a criticism on the repair engineers. Gas boilers are complex and servicing and troubleshooting them can be a difficult task. Common UK boiler brands such as Vaillant, Ideal, Worcester and Baxi all have more obscure models and this is one of them
    Unlike the USA our boilers are all high efficiency and more technology makes for harder diagnosis.
    For videos on Burnham, Weil-Mclain, Peerless and Lochinvar find a US Channel.
    I typed all that for better keyword and YT ratings. Lets see!!
    This is the repair kit I used. It is NOT and affiliate link.

    Here is a link to some of the stuff I used in this video, it is an affiliate link so if you buy it I get a (very very small) kick back. I didn't do this video for this kick back. I could find more money on the floor of the van behind the drivers seat ;-)

    Minor point though: CO2 is good for the atmosphere; it's basically plant food.
    Which is why Dutch farmers pump it into their greenhouses 🤘

      Yes, Very good for plants. The local greenhouses use oil and gas boilers to heat and some even use the POC to add Co2

    YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!! Where was this video when I needed it last week Friday evening? Took the old diverter out and water started spewing out because the vessel was flat and full of water. Got the PCB wet, water everywhere on the floor. EV is the first thing I check from now on. It's so weird seeing this video 2 days after it happened.

    • @HeatingGeek
      @HeatingGeek  5 месяцев назад

      And this video was filmed in January I think... I flipped a coin on which video to put out last week and the expansion vessel video won because it needed less editing. :-) I do always, always pump a vessel if I drain a boiler. Saves a lot of PCBs.
