This is so good by the AFL to show this. It is something that is needed for the young men growing up. Since its something for that boys at least doesnt get spoken about enough
Massive props to the AFL for making this series. It's so important to encourage men, particularly those in more masculine environments like the AFL, to be okay with expressing their emotions.
Tom Boyd owes nothing to the AFL, the Bulldogs or the fans. He owes himself happiness, I'm glad that he took the time to get himself right and is enjoying life at his own pace :D Also this programme is great to show people of all ages that it's ok to show your emotions and to talk about them. Don't bottle them up, because that's when things get really dark, seek help.
I'm safe but not happy but you go on with the cycle, wake up, put on a facade and keep on keeping on. That's life, well mine anyway. You keep going until there's noone in your life that you mean something to, and there's always someone.
Never really acknowledged this guys when he was a player I knew he was a champion and a legend of the bulldogs club but now after watching this I know and have found he is such a awesome person and will always be the player who delivered the bulldogs there 2nd premiship in almost 100 years killer bloke gun footy player...... In this time I hope everyone is staying safe and strong ❤️❤️
You would reckon being number 1 draft pick, Getting paided a load of cash and a premiership under your belt you would be the happiest AFL player but life can turn just like that and Tom has made me realise take every opportunity you get like the one he got
@ Kane Dalziel. I think there's the thing of continuous, very high pressure to get your body up and play week after week. Some players, their body's weakest points break down under the strain. And some players, like Tom Boyd, their brain or mind malfunctions under the same strain. And that pattern happens in all sports around the world. Maybe it's one reason why we admire a champion with a long career so much - they have the "right stuff".
Always remember that it takes a big man to cry; and an even bigger man to laugh at the man who is crying. Seriously though, as a Bulldogs fan, thank you Tom for the unforgettable memories you gave us and I hope you are happy and well.
The club’s inflexible schedule was responsible for the amount of stress a player has to endure. If he was allowed to train and attend club scheduled events around his anxieties it would have released the pressure. There’s too many stand over people in football who don’t allow talented players to just play.
This is strange, because my doctors do not want to medicate insomnia since they know it isn't a real treatment. He said that the first thing they do is medicate. I'm thinking that either he is wrong or he needs a new doctor.
Nice RUclips grifting AFL media. Well done. Great production. The music is strategically chosen, the way Hamish is sitting and clearly acting 👌 capitalising on individuals emotional pain and grief for RUclips views. Great stuff
No matter what happens from here, he will always be remembered as the man who delivered the Bulldogs their 2nd premiership in 100 years.

I have got a lot of respect for Tom for opening up a lot recently and for the way Hamish went about this interview. Two rippa blokes.

Well I hope for your sake that one day you don't have to put on a facade.
You too
Wow, it takes a strong person to be so openly vulnerable about their difficulties - I really admire his bravery…
Just the rawness and honesty of these series. Absolutely brilliant
Nothing but respect for this legend

the first thing to do is get sunrise AM sun in your eye every single morning without fail and turn off blue light at night
That thing on his cheek
