I suffered with him throughout the years, always wanting news of how he was going and when he would return. I cried to the moment I found out he was picked to play in 2018. Never knew him personally, but he looks such a lovable guy, and when he went down the boundary line It just ripped my guts out, knowing what it would’ve done to him. Alex Johnson, you will always be one of my favourite Swans.
For gods sake. People die of leukemia. Get some perspective. The kid won a premiership. So now he has to work for a living. By the way I am a Swans supporter. Get a grip.
Paul Matters . If you loved a sport and had the guts to go through all those knee reconstructions and years of rehabilitation, then your dream ends after two games, I’m bloody sure you would cry too.
@@rickydarcilover5581 Mate people get killed at work in the mines and the steel works. No i wouldnt cry. Bobby Skilton played his heart out for the club and never won a premiership. The kid won a premiership. No need for tears. He was very lucky.
@@paulmatters2641 This is exactly why men are afraid to open up about their emotions because of comments like this, essentially telling them to 'man up' and 'get a grip' because others go through worse. Pain is relative and we should encourage people to have this conversation... not bring them down.
Paul Matters . Well nobody is forcing you to cry. But if I want to cry for Alex Johnson I will, so don’t tell me what to do. In other words, I couldn’t give a rats arse about your opinion.
Alex, I'm 46 years old.... I have followed the Swans my entire life and I can honestly say you are my favorite player! I will remember your story until the day I die. Thank you!
I was there at the game when he done his knee again. When we had done it the crowd went silent. I knew exactly what had happened. The supporters around me were in tears, just a horrible moment
I was at the swans vs dees game in 2018 (as a swans fan), and watching Alex johnson go down on the boundary line and not get up and grab his knee was purely gut-wrenching to watch.
Being a massive Swans fan I admire the courage and determination he showed to get back out there and play footy again. I was quite upset for him when we delisted him and knew that his career was all but over.
I’m so sad for him, but then I think there are players who play 300 games who don’t win a flag, so that makes me feel a lot better about his story that he got a flag. We should all think, wow he got all those injuries but still managed to get a flag, deserved for such a determined person. What a top guy.
AJ you’ll always be a superstar. 2012 was your day! Got to meet you and you were such a top bloke. Bloods man forever mate. Thanks for sharing your story mate. #bloods2020
Our priorities are whack. Because head injury can result in a human being unable to cry I thought this was about head and brain injury, and resulting PTSD. But no, it’s about puffed up chests and collective heads going into sand
Watch the one with Campbell Brown, and then let me know what you think of the series overall. I agree this one was more about facing adversity rather than crying, but the series overall has the right agenda.
@Boris Johnson but I mean someone with a right mind would stop playing the game after doing 6 ACL's idc how much you love the game, you are simply putting your health and safety at a life threatening risk
@@hgitt1631 He didn't do the same knee mate. But also, how low do you have to go to say "that is what you deserve". So disrespectful. He was chasing a dream, don't be such an arse about it man
Jimmy theTrumpet i am spitting facts tho, how crazy do u have to be to threaten your ability to even walk again over footy, idc how much of a dream it is. I’m not hating I’m just saying, what did he expect to happen?

Did my ACL late last year, by far the toughest thing mentally. Could never imagine doing 6, absolute legend
Sorry to hear that, how are you going now?
Alex, I'm 46 years old.... I have followed the Swans my entire life and I can honestly say you are my favorite player! I will remember your story until the day I die. Thank you!
This is inspirational, the hardness he has gone through bloody motivates me hard
This is a sad but also one of those moments that all AFL players should appreciate every moment in AFL because you never know what will happen.
I was at that Melbourne game , everyone knew how serious it was by his reaction , so sad , but all the best for the future

This is really makes me emotional, Alex Johnson is a great player and his career is really unfortunate.
Bloody legend, a true demonstration of the bloods spirit!

To add to that, he played well in the Grand Final too. He well and truly earnt that premiership.
So good he got premiership

Alex Johnson, you truly are the most courageous person.
The Swans have a rich history of Defenders that have shown outstanding courage on the field. AJ was the one that showed it off the field.
Inspirational youtube channel since its just people speaking out and that's what I love
I wish I could speak one on one with this man.
Absolute legend very inspiring
This is such a motivational story.
Poor guy I remember when he first did his knee in 2013 pre season. I was at the nab Cup game 😢
There is one word that can only describe him resilience
LEGEND ALEX
Puts it into perspective
Heart breaking made me cry .♡♡ always fight aj
So harsh man. Life sucks at times :(
I am feeling for him
Well spoken lad.
Goosebumps. Best episode yet! Get Marlion Pickett on next.
no🤣
Go AFL
Yasssss
That’s the spirit
What is the music at the beginning of the video? They use the same music for Chess Ultra.
Up up swanysssssss
Alex is 28 so I think he could maybe play again and I hope he does...legend
It could be risking another ACL because his knee is weakened from doing the ACL so many times. Hope he does though❤️❤️
Poor guy..
Go the swannies

That's life. Deal with it and move on with life. No good looking back, that's how mental health issues start etc. Why is the AFL doing this?

Shut up man
I mean that is what u deserve when you try and play footy after doing 6 ACL's lmao
@Boris Johnson but I mean someone with a right mind would stop playing the game after doing 6 ACL's idc how much you love the game, you are simply putting your health and safety at a life threatening risk
