I appreciate an original creation. But sometimes the best cheap fragrance clones out there can make you question why you spend so much money on a fragrance when an excellent and affordable alternative is available?

Another argument for clones is that when certain perfumes get discontinued you may still have the clone available…
Al haramain's clones are just too good, they are more expensive than other clone houses but for a good reason

I didn’t heard that great stuff about sillage bro. Some people said it made them gag 😅 I personally would go for the rasasi one. Rasasi al wisam day. It has that same DNA, but with roses added to it. It’s unisex but pretty good imo. Try to decant it first before you buy it
I have Asad and 9pm. Incredible. I’ll be ordering L’aventure intense this week but it’s hard to find with reasonable shipping where I am.
It's even more creative for someone to figure out what you do, 90% the same at 1/8th the price. Just showcases how much they are overcharging people while also kind of destroying some natural resources.

Considering the price differences, I should say The Tux (Tuxedo clone) and Oud for Glory (Oud for Greatness clone) can be in this list. Specially The Tux is great for 20$. Please try it

I loved the video! And I have tried the Sillage, and I have both of the Aventus clones that you spoke of, I really like them both for different reasons (L'aventure for the pineapple freshness, and CDNIM for the oakmoss and longevity). I haven't tried detour but want to, and I haven't tried carved oud yet, but I have a sample on the way. Really looking forward to that one! Insurrection II by Reyane is a far better Creed Aventus clone than CDNIM in my opinion. Cheaper, smells better and is longer lasting.
Ever try mixing L’aventure and CDMIM?
Oud Wood and Carved Oud are both very expensive alternatives.. my suggestion for the same type of fragrance but for a fraction of the price is Versace Oud Noir.
It smells great, medium longevity, but gives the same vibes as the others mentioned, a great cheap alternative.
Btw I also prefer Carved Oud over TF..

You have the same exact opinion of Sauvage Elixir that I do lol that's why I ended up with the EDP. I think it's a much more dynamic version
To answer your question at the end though ; I believe you swayed my next purchase to be the Afnan 9pm instead of the Asad by Lattafa. Biggest reason being mainly it is still summer and it would be more wearable but they are both interesting to me
Is Club de Nuit Intense Man Parfum good for colder seasons? I know it projects amazingly and has very good longevity, but my friends tell me I can only wear it in summertime
I have to try these clones, I did try 9pm and I liked it. Club de nuit sillage didn’t really smell the same for me as SMW
For a silver mountain water clone, I would go with rasasi al wisam day. I love it it’s very fresh, citrusy and metallic. It’ll be great for the summertime.

Sillage is a scrubber, smw is way more tolerable and has a milky smoothness sillage doesn’t have.

I have CDNIM edt and it was so good but after ~15-18 months I feel like my scent has no more smoky dry down. It's just lemon all the way through.
I have cdnim edp and it's really better than the edt but my sprayer is broken and it leaks and takes 2-3 spray attempts to actually spray. It's a 200ml bottle too so it wasn't cheap enough to have an issue like that.😢

Lataffa maahir legacy smells just like PDM Sedley guys, it’s not in the list but trust me, spend the 20 bucks on that instead of 200+ on Parfums de marly. I’ve tested both, maybe the original is more high quality and obviously better ingredients, but from a purely scent perspective it smells really nice. If you don’t care about the title and the status and you’re not a serious collector then there’s no point in buying the PDM sedley. (Also the clone lasts longer than the OG)

another shout out to Afnan Turathi Blue plus add Afnan Rare Carbon (TF OL) - never tried but have heard the hype. I have TF OL and would be gutted if it was really close and performs well.
I can attest that Asad and detour noir are both fantastic and worth every penny. There are in my rotation alongside CDNIM edp (best of the bunch and most cost effective), Rochas Moustache and oud for glory. Interesting tried Suqraat recently but have yet to do a side by side against ADG Profumo (have both and should try this experiment at some point).
Also is Ameer al oud intense really close to MM BTFP - have the former?
Ameer al pud is about 80% similar. Because it is so cheap, you can overspray making performance and sillage great. I have both. Btfp is less sticky and sweet. More smokey. I wear both. Prefer btfp but ameer is definitely recommended.

Have you ever tested Afnan Turathi Blue ? I got it today and I dont know if im right, but I think it is also a clone to the bvlgari tygar. I think its great (but I dont know the tygar). Would be interesting what you think of it

I have three scents from Alexandria Fragrances. Black Panther, Zion and Ete Sauvage Elixir. Still want a few more scents from this house.

I am of two minds about clone fragrances. I do respect the creativity and ingenuity of original designer and niche fragrances. If I were an orignal fragrance designer, I would be livid at the actions of clone makers, especially when they blatantly copy the packaging as well. But there is a point where you are just paying for the name and I strongly suspect that far more of them use the exact same inexpensive synthetic ingredients that the clone makers use. Clone makers offer quality for affordability and I love that. But a lot of times they are really disrespectful and shameless in their IP theft. I try and balance it out by supporting both original makers and my own budget by mixing purchases of the two.

Asad is good but nowhere close to suavage elixir. The ingredients and quality of elixir is just unmatched. And I own both it and Asad

Clones for the most part smell like cheaper versions of the real deal which isn’t really a problem for me
Complete disagree on Sauvage Elixir, that stuff is magic.

@ka0h Just tone down the sprays. 2 max. I love that it lasts forever, unlike my Bleu de Chanel where I can bathe in it and it's gone in a couple hours

I feel like Mont Blanc Explorer is a more refined choice for an Aventus clone but performance on CBN is better

Another clone of TYGAR that’s recently been brought to my attention is Al Qaim Silver by Lattafa. Couple reviews knocking about on YT and a lot say it’s better than Turathi Blue. £35-£40 for 100ml as opposed to paying roughly the same for 30ml from Alexandria makes more sense IMO. We already know how good Lattafa clones can be.

Some people prefer the clone. For example i've never gotten compliments with Aventus, but with Club de Nuit i've had multiple.
I bought my Creed Aventus 2020, so i don't know if there's been any changes.
I sprayed 1 spray couple hours ago both Aventus and Club de Nuit to my arms and because i haven't used Aventus in couple months i forgot how weak my Aventus smells, the scent is almost fully gone after just 2 hours.
Club de Nuit is just more citrusy and chemical smelling version & bit stronger too & sillage is great. I bought this 2023 January.
Of course Aventus is better smelling, but longevity and sillage are disappointing. If you have a fancy nose and very high standards, i don't think you will enjoy Club de Nuit.
I remember after i bought Aventus and got to smell Club de Nuit and other 100-200 dollar fragrances for the first time, i was thinking what a waste of money Aventus was. There's so many good other high end products out there half the price.
Generally, I prefer the original to the clone. Buying a clone almost feels like I'm cheating on the original. But I might cheat on Layton, if there's a similar but lighter version of it for summer (clubbing) nights. For instance, I wore Layton in Bangkok at night, but it still felt a bit too "strong" for high heat evenings & nights. Maybe a topic for another video: summer clubbing scents ... ;-)

Imagination is worth every penny. It would be impossible to clone, the smoothness oozes class and of quality ingredients. It's also a real head turner. It's one of my most complicated frags. LV does refills for about half the original price, which is neat.
I have every single one of these from Al Haramain and not only are they as good, or better, nobody can tell the difference. Plus I’ve literally gotten more compliments. 🤷♂️
Yeap, my first fragrance was The One by D&G; sweet, delicate, almost non-existent.
Then I got my first Middle Eastern fragrance; Afnan 9 PM, and it was night and day; strong and long lasting.
Now, I just prefer Middle Eastern fragrances.

I strongly disagree with you with Tom Ford Tobacco vanille and haramain, i got the batch from 2012 or 2013 of Tom Ford, i don't know if the formulation changed or not, and i tested the Haramain clone, the TM TV is harsher one spray and your done, i do have 50ml i got it for 10 years because i rarely go for more than 1 spray I don't need, the Haramain version to my nose is different it's lighter more on the very safe and insecure side, the TMTV is more on the confident side because it will attract attention and you will be noticed and people will stop and look around, they are completely different, if TMTV got a winter fresh and light version then it's Haramain, some fragrances it's unnecessary to go for the clone ones and i know they might be very expensive but it is what it is, some clones did it better than the original like Armaf milestone

Man i think the argument of clones vs originals is ridiculous. If anything clones help sell the original. The duping has given ultra male more clout than it would ever have gotten on its own. Only very few people who can actually afford the originals stick with clones... so effectively clones are generating buyers who aspire to your product and will buy it when they can afford it whereas they wouldnt even know it because it wasnt in their price spectrum before they had access to clones. The flipside is that when a clone really squeezes out the original for less than half the price all i can say is stop overpricing a product whos cost is clearly very low as compared to the selling price. 90 percent of perfumes are severely overpriced because apart from dumping tons of ambergris in a vat, most other ingredients arent going to justify a 500 dollar fragrance price for a 100 ml... now the overhead for a perfumers r&d is surely quite substantial.... but that can be easily remedied by simply selling larger volumes at more accessible prices.... but the culture of luxury hates this sort of user friendly business model... so for most of us clones are the only way to access these scents. Another obvious issue that a lot of people forget is that not every clobe is designed as a dupe from the getgo... but there are only a few hundred scent profiles that appeal to humans.... often when you mix match and riff the result is close to an existing smell... even if the brand doesnt advertise it as a clone it takes a week for it to be labled by tye community...

Same thing for Detour Noir - 90% similar? Lmao. If you are looking for a dollar store garbage that opens with a blast of cheap alcohol, and then matches 1-2 top notes from Layton for about 30 minutes, yeah. After that, its not even on the same planet as Layton.
