    The OM126 OBD2 Diagnostics tool is in my opinion a good value product especially considering most dealers charge a minimum one hour for plug in diagnostics which is around £100 now in the UK, why not do this yourself. Lots of features, easy to use and operate....a rubber grip would be nice though :)

    I have one of these and been very handy and saved me loads of money on garage diagnostics. My friend has a different brand one with a rubber grip and he doesn’t like it as it gets filthy.

      Thats an interesting point on the rubber grip. I wondered if it may be better with greasy hands but if it then becomes grimy that isn't much good! thanks for your info :)

      It works great with the 2. When you've got one you can also get access to the Techstream dealer software for about a pound a day (and you only need to pay for a day at a time!).

    i believe that cat readiness is X'd out because the readiness process has not been completed for this drive cycle, as the car hasn't likely been driven in a while. I wouldn't say the X shows a fault, just that the monitor process has not been completed because the cat is still cold.

    Hey nice video. Recently I had the engine lamp lit in orange light in my mr2 and in the dealer just got in, plug it to their reader, and, since they could not get the root cause of why the light kept on, they just turn off the message. Total 75 euros. I guess I could have done this myself with this device.
    By the way did you check the cat message that was on in your analysis?
    Great video keep them coming!

    • @DadDiaries
      @DadDiaries  7 лет назад

      +Miguel Rayon Gonzalez thanks. Yeah dealers suck sometimes. If it's the mk3 mr2 and the engine light comes back on nine times out of ten its an o2 sensor failure. Haven't had time to check into the Cat notification but will report on that in a future video. I have toyota techstream so I'll plug that in and check out out. Thanks for watching :)

      Generally to get an OBD2 reader that will read and clear SRS (air bag) and ABS modules is pretty expensive and generally linked to dealer level software. The obdlink LX I have doesn't event do that and it cost a lot more than this unit. If you have the SRS light on though get it checked out, you don't want a false deployment of an airbag while driving or anything crazy like that!

    • @DadDiaries

      +Mara Mircea the £100 is if you put your car in to a dealer garage in the uk for diagnostics to be performed... not for an OBD2 device :)
