    Hello from Denver, Colorado! Just found your station today and immediately subscribed after watching the first video. Going back and watching older videos to "catch up" and just learned that you are a Roots And Refuge follower/fan/friend as well! Wanted to especially say thank you for your detailed videos on drip irrigation. "Thank You!" Additionally, that multi bird feeder station is FANTASTIC - do you recall the source by chance?

    Happy New Year, Matthew. What a wonderful surprise to come across this “new video” in my feed today. It’s just what I needed on yet another cold, gray day here in Northeast Ohio. Thank you for sharing one more trip around your first Ohio garden - it’s so beautiful with such a great variety of plants and shrubs and trees. It’s been an inspiration to me. I hope the new owners will tend it well. I look forward to seeing what you will do in your new garden!

    Hi Matthew! The "old" garden is so beautiful! I do hope the new owners take care of it and love it as much as you did. I will miss the tours of this garden, but am rally looking forward to your new garden designs at your new place. I hope you're feeling better. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Thank you so much for sharing!

    Beautiful! I moved 5 years ago and it was so hard leaving our mature garden. We dug and brought quite a few plants with us (enough to completely fill a 30’ trailer). I couldn’t bear to leave everything.
    Best wishes starting fresh. It was more difficult than I expected, but now I’m so happy. Have fun!

    Love seeing your old garden on this SW Ohio snowing morning. Few questions: what is the edging you used? And With our high ph and hard water do you think we can grow rhododendrons?

    • @SouthernersGarden
      @SouthernersGarden  Год назад +1

      It’s a metal edging from Lowes and I hated it. I did a whole video about it. It’s expensive and because of our freezing ground it constantly pushes out of the ground over winter.
      I’ve tried to grow one rhododendron and several azaleas before I had my RUclips channel without success. It used to be where the tall concrete planter was. I grow weigelas for early spring blooms now, but I may experiment at the new property and try to grow them. They’re sold locally around here. I just haven’t had luck.

    Thank you for doing the garden tour. You didn't take any plant with you to the new property? I'm moving next spring, and I already potted up what I could, in not planning to leave my precious plants behind. The new owner is so lucky to inherit your beautiful garden from you.
    I have most of plants you have, still learn so much from you. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden, on this cold winter day ! I always think how hard it would be to leave a garden like yours, but that gets me excited to see your new garden. Which I know will be just as beautiful. And, I know you were running out of gardening space, so your new property will provide you with such more space.

    Enjoying the garden tour, getting some closure on your previous lovely garden! You were probably too busy to feel much nostalgia as you gave the tour? I had a tough time leaving my last house and garden in 2017, though my garden now is much bigger and more developed.

    • @SouthernersGarden
      @SouthernersGarden  Год назад +2

      I was incredibly busy and had been for weeks preparing for the move and it's one reason the garden was so weedy! I typically spend about a week getting the garden ready for a summer garden tour and just didn't have the time this year. It was tough leaving, but I have so many more opportunities at the new land.

    What a gorgeous tour! Sorry to see you leave this garden that is so very beautiful but I’m equally excited to see the new garden as you grow it on and we all grow with it! I want you to know that I stopped this video probably twenty times to go add notes on plants to my 2024 garden list! I’m going to only be growing in containers around my patio because of issues with disabilities but for the first time in years I’m excited and want to grow ALL the plants! This Spring is going to be amazing! Happy New Year to you and your family including the furbabies!! ❤️💫🎆🎇🎆💫❤️

I wouldn’t have been able to walk away from almost all of what you have in your garden there! lol. & last question, do the new owners like to garden or appreciate a beautiful garden??
