- This delightful garden belongs to my friend Marquette Clay...a garden and gardener well known in OKC horticultural circles. It’s been featured in SOUTHERN LIVING, on numerous fundraising garden tours, and is a car stopper for sure should you be driving by. It features some of my favorite garden elements: boxwood, gravel, a restricted color palette, masses of container plantings, lots of layering, beautifully pruned shrubs and trees, and wonderful outdoor comforts.

Things to look for:
• strips of green in the ribbon drive
• plays of texture everywhere! In containers, along the drive, in the hardscape.
• novel design and organic vibes in features like lanterns, the arbor, and fire pit.
• a wonderful assembly of succulents, fern, interesting ground covers, unusual shrubs.
• the green front door was the suggestion of my friend Rebecca, a former editor of SL who recommended it for the magazine shoot.
• and yes, the inside is as charming as the outside.

What an entrance, incredible. The picket fence and beautifully groomed plants. Never change the colour of the door 🤗 Thank you both for a wonderful visit.
My father painted the kitchen cabinets and the kitchen table and chairs in this appletini color in the late 70s.
It was a surprise for my mom, let’s say she wasn’t delighted🤣
he was an artist and painted oil paintings. He loved colors and didnt understand that not everybody appreciated all colors. My first room he painted bright orange.
I also painted my daughters first room orange ,a little more apricot than my color .
Green is my favorite color so his joy for color rubbed off on me even though he passed suddenly when I was nine.
I’d love a front door like this😊

The owner of this property is brilliant. I love the cohesiveness of the flower and foliage combination, it's simple and perfect. Also enjoy the green glass globes, what a creative touch. I appreciate that the orbs are low to ground and not on stands or pikes, blending subtly with the landscape. I'd love to see the interior and use of color there. Good job, home owner! You are awesome!

Thanks for sharing Linda wow how beautiful is that garden a real credit to the owners 🌷the grass growing in the middle of the driveway is just like the countryside in Ireland its what we refere to as a boreen although it would be less ornate and very natural, usually on the way into a farm of sorts on a tiny little road.

So gorgeous...very serene, like a tapestry of textures, subtle greens, silvers...with touches of color to make it stand out. I really like gardens that have everything blend in together and look lush. The boxwoods are beautifully maintained. I love the idea of no grass, just a lovely garden. Thank you for this tour.
