I'm so glad you shared that last drag and drop into pre set canvas size method. I am an illustrator who works primarily on paper, for now, and have found translating my scans into images meant for web display slightly confusing. That last method seems like an easy way to prep images for display in a uniform and hopefully clean way. I'll be giving it a shot. Thanks for the tutorial.
You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I was able to go to Kinkos and print a picture on a canvas of a painting 🖼 that I've always wanted and put it in my house. The size was 30x40 and it looks amazing 👏😍
This is the best tutorial on this topic!!! Thanks so much. I was able to use the drop down method to change my album cover art to new dimension requirements of my new distributor in 5 minutes flat! The way you describe the material is very easy for me to understand, not just the what, but the why, which helps me understand Photoshop even better as I go along. Once again, thanks for sharing your expertise!!!
This is a model editing tutorial. Thank you so much, Brandon from Be Well Creative. I just liked and subscribed and hope to learn how to expand presenter thumbnails on zoom recordings so we can better see the speakers in edited segments.
Thanks so much Brendan Williams, I love your lesson. You have made me a better graphics designer. Now am adding graphics to my web development projects and it makes a lot of sense to me now. Thanks again
Great explanation. There is another one which enhances and upsacales images fast and gives the best quality and it is Viesus. You can easily find it by searching its name in your browser
Not enough people comment saying thank you, so here I am offering my piece. Thank you for this video, it's very helpful and you are super professional. You deserve more views and I hope you make lots of money for making such a wonderful tutorial for free for the people.
Hi, Brendan, thank you for your very clear explanation! I have a question: I have an image downloaded from a free image site. It is a jpg, and contains individual watercolored drawings of objects. I need to increase the size of these objects and individually move them from the original image into my project image. How do I prevent pixelation as I do that? Thanks for any help you can offer!
I knew that smart object retains the file detail, however did not know drag and drop a file into PS makes it automatically Smart Object. Thanks for that.
You are a good teacher! Very clear and fast to explain. BUT, please, how this work when you start with a lower resolution image without using any paid program outside Photoshop? I'm having a hard time here to upscale images from 100dpi to 300dpi, even when I change it to a smart object. They lose quality and clarity. I'd appreciate it a lot if you can help me. I'm using PS 2020. Thank you :)
I really enjoy your tutorials !!! Very user friendly and helpful topics. Thank you so much. Compliments to your model on the lion sculpture - What a beautiful lady !!! She is absolutely stunning !
Question: What it your original photo is not only small, but also blurry because it has low resolution and few pixels to begin with. Is there a way to enlarge it and increase sharpness?
What about if I want to take a RAW image and make it very small? I want to put three photos into the space of a IG story stacked on top of each other. Thanks
Great tutorial. I seem to be having the opposite issue. After dragging my image onto a background image & converting it to a smart object (which I've previously done for countless product photos) I'm losing quality when scaling that layer DOWN. It's becoming very pixelated as I shrink it down to fit the background scale. I'm ripping my hair out over here!
Okay I can't find the answer to this question ANYWHERE. What if you have a really big image and you want to size it down? or What would you do if you have a big image that you want to put on a smaller-sized document and still retain its original quality? It seems that no matter what I do, whenever I move an image to another document, and then I size it down, it's ALWAYS blurry or pixelated. All the pictures are shot on a 45-megapixel camera so I'm very confused.
YESSSSSS. Same issue. I have a high resolution image trying to scale down for my 'about me' image on my website. No one seems to answer. I've tried these methods and they DON'T work.
@@johnnathanbaxter8749 Nope. I experimented a bit. I took a screen shot of my image in a more zoomed out view - it made it look a little better, but still blurry. You can check out my image here on my website - www.andreasanchez.co/. It will have to do for now.
Don't know why this won't work for me. I'm trying to create a facebook cover photo 850 x 315 and have resized the photos I'm adding to it both ways and it's always pixelated.
I have a company who wants me to send them a photograph of their farm land for their company. Size of canvas they would like is 8’ x 16’? Im trying to resize my pictures so that the resolution can stay clear as possible but I keep having “scratch disk full” error? I have available storage?
I did it the way you explained it here and it works 100%, but the problem is that I edit first in lightroom and finished my editing in photoshop. When I export my images from lightroom to photoshop my images are 100% perfect unless I crop or resize and that is when the image starts loosing quality even if I apply smart object.. have you ever done this?
hi Brendan. i have 2560 xx 1440 resolution desktop monitor. i have one photo in lightroom/photoshop that i like. how to make a wallpaper size of my desktop monitor.? sorry am a bit slow. thanks
Thank you so much for sharing but i want to make my photo smaller and print it but it turn out really blur when i printed it. What should i do to make the photo not blurry when i down the size ?
I want to print my images into poster sizes such as 18x24 and 22x28 but I want sharp clear details with no fuzziness or blurring. How do I do that once I upload my images on the computer?
I am starting my own tshirt biz and I had a problem in largeing a photo cause it got all pixelated so just converting a photo to a smart object is all I have to do to in large it?
Hello, thanks for this informative video! Do you have a tutorial showing how to change the dimensions of a photo? I'm working on a book cover and I'm trying to resize the cover to specific dimensions...
ok I get how to Size the photos but I need to fix resolution on a block poster that's my down load and my picture ..but block poster create created if thar makes scence ..also is being done from my android.! help
It’s all an illusion 😂 Its only that clean when I record videos. Usually I have coffee cups, water bottles, hard drives, notebooks and other random things scattered about.
My big problem is that after importing a large photo file into PS and then working on it, I convert to a jpeg file ready for printing but the image is then reduced to such a small file that when printed the image is no longer sharp but soft! Any Ideas why?n
@@BrendanWilliamsTutorials yeah, I’ll bet, but, hey, how many of us have old pics where res is not good but with a few calculated steps using PS, we could enhance these older pics; look forward to the tutorial using an older pic-say something taken in the 70’s and up.
After I convert the image to a smart object and then insert it into the new custom image canvas, I do not get the scaling boxes on the sides of the smart object. When I free transform the image to resize, I get horrible pixellation. What am I missing? Thank you!
Great bro, I converted the image from 96 resolution to 300 as you showed in the video, but after conversion it still shows 96 resolution. When I enlarge the image the quality is good, can you explain this situation.?

Very helpful and with a good clear and concise explanation. Thank you😀
Thank you so much. I was trying to figure what happened to my PS. You people are best who share their knowledge to us. Love you bro.
Your tutorials tempt me to keep photoshop instead of canceling

what if you place an image in a smart object, increase the size, convert to raster? does this lose quality that you maintained in smart object?
