No need to apologize as this is not a dish common in India or Pakistan. There are many versions of the dish. I see a big difference between areas in the US, but also between Italy where it originated vs the American version. You did an amazing job 👏

I enjoyed ketchup on my mac and cheese when I was a kid. Come to find out I was not the only one. First time having it and this guy says it. Got a smile out of me too.

Get a box of elbow mac.. don’t over cook it.. When it’s done, drain it, and put it back in the pot. Take some cream cheese (about a third of the block), some slices of baby Swiss (like 4), some sharp cheddar, (and this is important) Velvetta.. Yes, I said velvetta 😂. Cut off in small blocks like a third of the block of velvetta.. pour in some milk so it doesn’t get all sticky, and mix all that together on low heat.. add some provolone (3-4 slices) and let it all melt.. add milk as needed, and butter doesn’t hurt either... put it in a baking dish and then sprinkle some more shaved sharp cheddar on top, then bake until it bubbles, and the cheese starts to brown... It is wonderful... Please let me know what you think... My mother passed away last month, and she would be pleased to know that I gave her recipe to someone.. ❤️

"Mac 'n Cheese" is definitely an American comfort food for sure. It's simple, but amazingly delicious and filling and its good to eat anytime or year or time of the day.

I think the most amazing part about Macaroni and Cheese is how flexible it is. You can mix so many different spices and ingredients into it and its hard to ruin it.
My personal favorite, is to add steamed broccoli to the cheese sauce as well as a little red wine for a bit of a tang and bite and sprinkle crushed bacon and shredded cheddar cheese over the top and bake it in an oven like a cassarole
I love how connected these folks are to everything in their environment, especially food. They are unaccustomed to sugary, salty processed food filled with unpronounceable chemicals and additives. They produce most of their food themselves and always give thanks to God for giving them the ability to provide for themselves and their families. They are intimately connected to everything in their world, and grateful for even the smallest, seemingly inconsequential things. We could all learn a lot from them. Peace, AM

@@sabs7880 if you use good sharp cheddar cheese, salt and pepper and put a touch of mustard or dry mustard ( not much) it has awesome taste.
You should have seen what they did to donuts.
What these guys ate looked more like a casserole. And I get that mac and cheese doesn't have a lot of flavor, but it is a starchy side dish meant to fill you up. Some folks also eat mashed potatoes with nothing on them (gasp).

Mac n Cheese in Pakistan is a relatively recent introduction (mostly in Pizza restaurants). They're localized and always have chicken tikka and olives as a topping.

Back in the 80s in India cheese was not a part of the average Indian household.. it was a strange & weird new foreign thing Indian moms were suspicious of.. like mushrooms & baking soda.. lol.. many Indians from that generation grew up viewing it that way.

You can occasionally add hot sauce and bacon and peas, but not olives. Way too overpowering.

@oh hi Good idea. If you make it from scratch add a small can of tomato sauce while cooking the cheese sauce. Stir constantly to blend it smoothly. I can’t enjoy boxed mac and cheese. Stouffers frozen isn’t bad for what it is. I’m going to crumble some Ritz next time. Easy upgrade.

I agree , but I wouldn't be able to give but 5$ unless I stumbled onto money. It happens to me a lot actually. Three days ago, I'm crying cause I cant afford to feed the 10 strays cats I adopted the food they want, and then I found 100$. God is good🙏. They're eating good for a least a couple months now. Sad I couldn't get the money to the rightful owner but I figured this was the best outcome since I couldn't find them.

@@JanuaryZero Well people from the US send them love packages with candy, candy, candy. School supplies, books in Arabic and dental care things would serve better in my opinion. I sorta presume that due to their location foods to try from around the world aren’t readily available so...they use what is available. I was soooo disappointed in the sushi episode. No effort was made to help these lovely people experience it correctly. They were reviled and no doubt will never try it again.

@@velmascarborough7680 it's different it's like a grown up mac and cheese, having the olives and it seems like a variation of what some kind of mac and cheese restaurant would do or a person who does a food truck that makes one thing but all kinds of ways. Like would you call mac and cheese with barbecue chicken bacon and caramelized onions disgusting or delicious? Or mac and cheese with jalapenos sour cream onions basically all your taco items with taco seasonings and hot sauce is that disgusting or would you give it a try?

Macaroni and cheese has many variations. You can bake it or make it on the stove top, you can put any cheese you like in it, though one of them must be a cheese that melts well and stretches. I prefer the bake lightly method. Cool your macaroni, make a bechamel, add cheese, mix with macaroni, place in butter casserole dish, too with more cheese, bake for twenty minutes or until cheese is just melted.
Listen to this person here with the beautiful smile this is the mom method of making a good mac and cheese. Olives is good along with anything else for a more growing up version of mac and cheese but anyway you make it and how you like it is the best for you.

I have to say...they all eat very neatly all the time, but my man with the huge mustache: You, sir, are incredible at keeping anything from getting on it, and that's mighty impressive!! Mac and cheese is a comfort food, and one that is very much liked by children and older folks, and when not feeling well but need to eat something.
It doesn't upset your tummy, it has substance more than broth, and it warms you up in cold weather. But tomato soup and cheese sandwich does that, too, for me. Often it is customized for families' likes; cooked broccoli, olives, parmesean cheese on top is how I make it the rare times I make it. And always use at least 4 different types of cheeses.
Different tastes, so they blend and give sharp, mellow, smooth, yet tangy and creamy. You get that effect of dimension of flavors, by using extra sharp white cheddar, with swiss, with gouda, and with jalenpeno monteray jack all together.
Think of each individual taste...smokey gouda that is a firm cheese, and swiss with a creamy tang, with the sharp yet mellow but flakiness of sharp white cheddar, and the zing of jalenpenos nestled amidst the even, simple light flavor yet a slight hint of tangy of monteray jack cheese. All that melted together, mixed with cooked macaroni, folding in black olives, chopped cooked broccoli, sprinkling parmesean cheese on top and baking til bubbly and browning on top. NO adding salt because all that cheese is salty enough! Try adding a dash of granulated garlic or finely chopped up chives, or finely chopped up fresh basil.
