It's just a QoL change that requires/rewards you to have the other boots unlocked. While standard accounts aren't impacted as much, this is a much appreciated addition for irons, ESPECIALLY ultimate irons. No different a change than that potion device from Varlamore, really 🤷♂️

No one and I mean NO ONE likes to do boot swaps. It's the one slot that makes sense. Also, Pegs having no ranged strength makes zero sense. So this boot upgrade is a long time coming.

when the game gets to this point where they have thralls but not summoning, a tribrid offhand, a tribrid boot, along with everything else thats changed over the years, my take is that i'll just wait a couple years and come back once its a completely different game, because this is like limbo, a lot of new stuff, too much to make it feel like RuneScape, but not enough to make it feel like a new game or a new playthrough, at least until they add sailing. PVP has just become absolute ass, deep wild 2 combo food meta with voidwaker gmaul spam, getting fire surged 45s while sipping brews. Claustrophobic way of fighting that we've been locked into. Plus, its not good that we can take max untradeables with us in pvp and not lose them, the damage is getting too high for such little risk.

Yes, the new boss will drop an item that allows you to combine them. Irons will just have to get each boot as they currently already have to.
