She has the voice of a folk singer, very deep and earthy, with an occasional runaway yodel. Those high notes she hit, were a pleasant surprise.

I agree, his coaching and songs were perfect and genuinely right for her, as a Master singer he used his genius to pick incredible songs for her voice, I think any other coach there would have tried to adapt her to unfitting songs and she would have been let go of.

I'm just finding her for the first time and I'm blown away. She handles every vocal challenge like it's easy. She never sounds like she has to rev up for a high note or a vocal distortion. It all just comes out flawlessly in any range. She makes it look so easy! Her skill is mind-blowing. Wow! I'm so glad someone took notice. It only took one.
Been years since she has won the voice and I'm still watching this video she is still amazing all these years later.

What I found crazy is that the ENTIRE audience heard the unique sound. They were screaming to hit the button. I was like WHAT?? Are you deaf??? They were worried if it was a girl or boy.... Didn't matter... What. Do. You. Hear. ??? Because that soothing voice was insane from the first note. One of my favorites from the voice.

She absolutely did not possess perfect pitch btw. She was flat quite a bit but that's technique and discipline vs hardware meaning not an ear issue.

When she sings with the first woman in the face-off, they sound INCREDIBLE together! I think too often these shows focus too much on individuals, and ignore genius in some of the pairings. Some of the best musical acts in the last 75 years are duets, trios, and groups.

well stated. flawlessly sung -- last piece and the semi final piece was beyond the others but her voice is rich and full and she sings effortlessly and hits all the notes with perfection. Very enjoyable to listen to.
That's the first thing I noticed- she wasn't struggling, straining, or acting nervous. I felt like her voice was "giving me a hug'' in every song she sang. It comforted me.

I’ve never found myself so swerved into such ethereal voice such as hers. She has the soul and the twist of the west with her other west African side. It makes such a gracefulness, a kind you live to bless the mysteries for giving you a soul to enjoy. She’s a gift and I’m proud to be her cousin.

Sir Tom did a wonderful job coaching Ruti. A great coach works with his protégé to expand on the singer's strengths while helping overcome perceived weaknesses like low self esteem and it shows in how comfortable Ruti looks over the season. Well done Sir Tom and Ruti!!

I had the pleasure of attending Sir Tom Jones’s concert in South Africa during the 70’s. One cannot help but be drawn to this magnificent artist, humble, loving and forever new! He remained true to himself and set an example of a how to be a gentleman! May he live forever!❤️
I remember the first time I heard her sing on her blind audition and i was like OMG WHOA this girl is the winner. What a voice this girl has it literally gives u goosebumps. And to imagine she was a 1 CHAIR TURNED
Dolores O'Riordan must have been one of the hardest female voices to sing in recent times, period. She had the ability to switch between an angel and a thunderstorm in a single second. To see an 18 y.o. girl not only sing Dreams, but to sing it in her own way, with her own twist, but still being faithful to the original is just amazing. Ruti's voice and timbre are a true force of nature. And most likely, they will only get better with time.

My first time hearing of her. She is amazing. Idk why but I cried most of this. I went through something very traumatic a few days ago. It’s added on to a rough three years. The purity, authenticity, and power of her voice touches me. Altos are used as backbones of choirs but are under appreciated. I’m glad Ruti is being appreciated. Tom and her dad look so proud. I love Tom Jones. McArthur Park was one of my favorites. I never missed a show. He has a soulful voice. I was his biggest fan but he didn't know it.
I learnt to love Jennifer Hudson. I thought shed be one of many divas like the others but shes like Jessie J. Shes a purist, she just loves music so much that when something is so damn good she will be happy, sad, anything and you can feel her passion. You can see this here, its not her contestant but shes in love.
