If they didnt understand it, they could ask for him to clarify or quite often another shark will sum the deal up for them. On top of that, the business owners know what they are doing, they have to know these numbers, know the ins an outs of business lingo if you're gonna run a successful company. Kevin might make money off his deals with his loans or royalties but inevitably he makes the products much much bigger, and in return the owners make a lot more money off of it.
These guys are actually genius, they ALREADY knew they wanted Kevin's help with the design firm and came in at 2.5% specifically implying they wanted a royalty deal and they got the exact shark and deal they wanted. Talk about knowing what you want, coming up with a plan and executing

You're not going to get that strategic partner without giving something up and it's peanuts compared to how much Kevin could grow not just Vabroom but the entire company. Irregardless of whether you think it's a good deal or not, they went into the tank with a goal and got exactly what they wanted. That's something that the vast majority of entrepreneurs on Shark Tank have been unable to do, and they did it with only 1 Shark remaining which as we know gives the Shark impeccable leverage that they overcame with their plan.

What about the Dyson vacuums tho? It has bristles for loose substrate and is light and has a docking station. It has modules for carpet and hard floors. I cant see my self picking this over that unless i was price conscious.

I remember the early shark tank days when a company coming in with a multi million dollar valuation was rare and people offering less than 10% equity were essentially laughed at. Now that seems like the norm. Even more interesting that in this case the valuation isnt even that crazy (Id legit buy this broom, ngl)
Well, there is much bigger deals (and sales) now compared to early seasons. That's part of the reason. Those guys were selling 5 million per year of these, it was unheard of when you watched those early seasons. So obv valuation and % have to move some direction.
I'd for sure buy this product at a lower price point, although I think the price point is a fair one. I just don't have much use since my apartment is carpeted

A big reason is that companies used to have to give a large percentage of themselves to NBC to get on the show. So successful companies were much less likely to go on. Now that they don't have to do that, successful companies can go on without fear.

This was more about securing their success than it was about trying to keep as much of their business as possible to make as much money as possible. They made a good decision in my opinion. Id love to get to work with Kevin "Mr. Wonderful" O'Leary. I would feel very confident in the increase in exposure and sales that he would be able to provide.

I have one at home and at my business and it’s the best. As a daycare owner, it helps with daily cleaning after the children. Whenever I pull it out the children playfully run and scream……run here comes the vacuum broom😊. Great product.
If you've ever broomed before you know this wont be very practical since you cant tilt it too much or go too hard otherwise the vaccum part would break. This is one of those products that you use once or twice and never use again
