    The first Toyo dealer I tried getting this car from was an absolute nightmare. They tried getting me to pay 55k walkout on the 2023 premium model and told them to kick rocks. I went to another dealer 2 days later and they cleared me on 38k walkout for the 2024 premium model was overjoyed by that. It’ll be showing up next month so I’m pretty excited for it. I agree with watching out when you get to F&I. When I just bought my Mazda3 turbo hatch the other week, I already had the OTD price going in (I was paying cash) and when I got to the finance manager the total was a few hundred higher than what it should have been. I was able to pull up the quote on my phone and we figured out that the MSRP was higher on their end. I did hear that the MSRP had changed recently, so that may account for the discrepancy if true, but regardless they quickly got it corrected and my OTD price actually ended up being a little lower than I was first quoted, so it all worked out in the end.

      @@Gonin60 So far I'm really enjoying it. I do find the seat bottoms a little firm, but hopefully once they break in they'll be a little more comfortable (have less than 200 miles on it right now). Also, the heated steering wheel is a little weak, at least as compared to our 2021 Ridgeline or my 2022 Camaro. Other than that though, it's been wonderful. Car has a lot of effortless power, and it seems to drive a lot smaller/lighter than I was expecting. There isn't much steering feel, but the handling is very good, and I've no complaints there. Overall, it seems like a great choice for a daily.

    Enjoyed the video!
    For the car itself i paid MSRP at Mark Miller Midtown. Downside was the 7 month wait for delivery. Got a Limited in Ice Silver Metallic. Paid cash as, at my advanced age, i don't buy anything i can't pay for outright. Did go for both a tire/wheel, paintless dent repair/key protection package and the 6 yr/60,000 Subaru Added Security Warranty (can you say RTV?). Both have pro-rated refunds which i may opt for at some point.
    The only OEM option i requested was the all-wather floormats. I prefer the look of the BRZs as i think the GR86 front end looks like a catfish but honestly i would be happy with either car. Also prefer that the BRZs are less common by a factor of 3 or so and i have had a good experience with my WRX at the dealer over the past 20 years. Added an STI starter button and shift knob bought from a discount Subaru parts place. Also door panel scuff protectors and, of course, the great looking Toyota ducktail/duckbill spoiler. I installed Lamin X door handle cup film, A-pillar and leading edge of hood and roof film. Also 3M Scotchgard Pro headlight, rear bumper sill and door edge film. Will probably have a pro install PPF for the complex front bumper and the side mirrors. But i didn't want to pay $800 just in install labor like i did with my Civic Type R (Carvana doesn't reimburse you for your PPF cost). Also i got Stickerfab shifter surround and door sill overlays and Axis seat belt buckle guards.
    Bought the JDM accessory lights and a Homelink rear view mirror off the forums. Gen 1 spare to clear future Brembo calipers. JDM side marker lights. Speed Bleeders, Hawk HP+ pads, Motul 600 fluid, and GR86 mud guards.
    That's about it for now. All that's left is to drive it!

And its a little ridiculous about how much these dealerships are marking these cars up these days a 31000 car basically being priced 45000 definitely not worth paying that much just wondering did you have any dealerships that tried to mark that much on the cars you were looking at when you shopped around was the premium that much?

Interest rates are so sucky now, I bought my WRX new in '21, got it for msrp @ $33k with the option 2 package (all weather), I put nothing down as I had a $50k line of credit from my bank and the dealer was very encouraged to try and beat their rates and I ended up with nearly half the interest rate you got. I think the rate you got is pretty in line with where the market is right now, but ditto on the dealership trying to sneak money out of you. Great advice to be extra cautious of the financing because they absolutely will try and sneak things in on you.

    My '15 BRZ Limited has the heated seats. I live in the Great Lakes region and we have Winter weather here. One of the "Everyday Driver" guys had a FR-S in Utah and he was driving his in fairly severe Winter snows. I swap between Winter and Summer wheel/tire sets. They make a difference. Pilots for Summer and currently have Pirelli Sottozero Winter tires. With Winter tires the BRZ is better in moderate snow and ice than my Forester on All Season tires.
    I bought mine through Wagner Subaru on a 60 month finance. I don't remember what down payment I made but do know I made double and triple payments to pay the loan off within 18 months. The PPF for $1300 is ok, but the difference between that and the other quotes of around $1600-1700 is the paint correction (polishing) process before the film is applied. Dealers definitely wouldn’t do paint correction, and paint coming out of the factory and after shipping is far from perfect, so applying the PPF on the paint without first polishing out all the imperfections is not ideal. But for a silver color and the low end sport car that our GR96 is, I think it actually makes sense to save a bit of money and skip the paint correction process.
    And in terms of financing, do what you can to pay off as soon as possible. Having financing cars in the past 15 years at historically low rate of 2%-5%, I can’t stomach any interest rate that is over 5%. And 7-year is a very long time. I had financed my cars up to 5 years and it felt like a eternity especially after the 3rd or 4th years after the new car feel worn off.

    • @Gonin60
      @Gonin60  Год назад +1

      The dealer didn’t do it. They outsourced it and the paint was corrected before applied.

    • @andyhung424able
      @andyhung424able Год назад

      @@Gonin60 I know dealers outsource those works out, but it’s still hard to imagine dealer charges less than what you could have gotten direct from the vendor without any corner being cut. But $1300 is a good deal either way. Congratulations on your new ride.
