    Every IT employee know that, their job is not permanent. Instead of removing middle level employees, they can reduce the hike percentage, provide voluntary retirement for top level people. Also all IT companies must join together and set up one common salary base else we cannot have control on this issue.

    Prepare for state/Central government job and settle your life. Naanum IT la work pannan for 2 yrs. Later resign panitu , 1.5 yrs padchan, ippo railway la loco pilot uh irukan. Well settled life and tension free. Job security and respect everywhere I go. Top respect in society if you are a central government employee.

    IT கம்பெனி 4 மடங்கு சம்பளம் கொடுத்ததுல ஆரம்பித்தது இந்த பிரச்சினை, இவர்களை காட்டியே அரசு ஊழியர்களுக்கும் சம்பளம் கூட்டப்பட்டது. பொருளாதார மந்த நிலையில் அனைவரும் விழி பிதுங்கி உள்ளனர் மத்திய அரசு இதை சரி செய்யும் என தோன்ற வில்லை.

    Lay-off can’t be avoided in current situation. When you are technically strong and upto date in the market no need to worry. I have been layed off and within a month I got 4 offers. Keep learning something new and get rid of worries

Esp girls who never employed or want to but preferred only IT guys for marriage and suggested they are True Men and others are not even considered as humans even with all good qualities.. Even a girl father spit on phone and disconnected coz am not IT.. Now i believe 'God Exist'..

      @Niranjan A Brother working more than 10 hours doesn't mean they're not skilled..50% projects in support will have more work... They used to get tickets and you have to fix it in a deadline. You cannot say No to your manager in this situation. It all depends on which project you work. Some projects are very cool. You can finish your work in short time and can learn something in your free time. They are support projects where you have to work 24/7....

    I'm a Architect from IT industry. I disagree some statements like IF GIVEN TRAINING, IF GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. We've to learn certain things by ourselves. This is a industrial modernisation where skill matters not your experience. Survival of the fittest. Even if they fire, you still can get a better job or do freelance. Kindly apologise me if it hurts you. This is the reality.

    Cognizant Chennai alone has 1.15 Lakhs of 14 offices out of 2.88 Lakhs employees its major share of people affected not only Chennai but reskilling and outsourcing is not straight method forward which they opt. . He will never support employees as his income is based on profit and shares of the company. New CEO wants to show off he is doing good to the company earlier CEO was Indian but he is brining new team of high profile management and marketing since he is from Vodafone.

    The reality is 65% of I.T. workforce are unemployable. Individuals need to realize that it is essential to upgrade their skills constantly and that is the only way for survival. As technology grows, one has to realize that unless they keep updating themselves competing in the fast changing world is unavoidable. Complacency is the reason. Many just want to stick and continue their life as it is. This is suicidal.

    Nearly 30 percent of top cars like bmw and Benz bought by IT employees who earn 15 to 19 lac pa . I know many persons in Erode and tirupur who are earning same cash in a month owns Hyundai and maruthi .problem starts here

    There should be a sustainable growth in any profession.
    Increments and privileges should be sufficient to meet the needs, it shouldn't be too high or too low.
    Once they have paid heavily for few percent of people and indirectly almost everyone got huge Car loans and house loans.
    Due to IT sector, there was a huge impact on economy and affected life of other people also.
    I was with HCL TECHNOLOGIES in my earlier career for first 4 years, then I myself resigned and became a self employed. We should let a peaceful life.
    I planned myself to be away from being luxury, mental pressure, improper work life balance.
    Things will look normal in IT sector, but it affects indirectly in our life.
    Both IT companies and the employees should plan accordingly, for sustainable growth all through our career and life.
    There should be no layoffs.

    Senior or Junior, ITans always should have alternate earnings. IT companies have redundancy by all means but not the employees.

    CTS is not the deciding factor for the entire industry. As long as you upskill yourself there is no need have this fear. Adaptability and flexibility is the need of the day

    IT yavadhu atleast 10 to 15 years time irukku...medical coding coding la 7 years experience la 30 to 38000 kodukka ro.ba yosipangha... athuvam 7 years 8 years la target vachuruvangha.... IT la freshers ku 25000 initial salary irukkum then as their experience increases they get salary in lakhs.... but in medical coding field max salary vl be nealy 35000 that too not safe.... team leaders vil get nearly 45 to 50000.... but for nearly 30 to 40 employees a team leader vl be assigned. Not an every person can become an team leader... for them too nearly 10 to 12 hours daily work

    People in IT should think of becoming financially independent rather than spending on unnecessary things or taking a huge loan for owning a house/car and paying EMI all their life. This leads to a insecure life.
    Find out ways to become financially independent
    Then think of other stuffs

    Facebook project had issues in us. Where cognizant has to pay fines in us due to the employer working nature. Hence they decided to leave out that stream and clear that mess as it's not profitable. Plus this is also a good time for them to cleanse employees so can hit multiple birds with 1 stone.

    Layoff !Layoff everywhere ,in every sector ,every industry . It's very obvious that economy is getting fucked in and out . But the ruling dispensation at the center maintains ,"there is no economic issue ,economy is fine, we are just fixing the major issues caused during the tenure of Dr Manmohan Singh as PM and Raguram Rajan as RBI Governor ,which was the worst time of indian economy (9.5% economic growth rate !!!) analysed and researched by FM and PM! No end to the self proclamation self advertisement of Moodi and co of achieving $5 trillion economy , of course with never ending selfies with bollywood cine stars !Jai bharat!

    CTS - Non-Owner company, focus short terms goals.
    Layoff Criteria could be
    1. Seniority ( Mid Management Crisis )
    2. Position Specific Layoffs
    3. Performance
    4. On Bench
    5. Org restructuring or needs funding or acquisition
    In today's competitive world all companies follow short term goals. The attrition rate is tracked every year.
    The layoff is not new, it been there for a long time. When employees accept the offer he is bound to the terms and condition of the organization which he signs. Nothing to blame off CTS. On an average people get 8-20% hike year on year. A fresher gets 20K to 30K minimum, on the contrast, for example, a sub-editor (non IT) gets the same salary after 10 years. In my exp, I have seen HR fired.
    People don't speak when an IT employee gets a high salary of 50-1lakh per month? the same goes for JetAirways.
    Its pyramid structure, be aware of the risks when you join an organization.

    I am sorry for all these workers loss, it is not only affecting them but their families too, if the companies plan to terminate at least they should give them 3 to 6 month notice so they can plan to forsee their job loss. Imagine if there was a new born baby or newly married, what would they think in the family, its because of this child or spouse i lost job and unlucky. But unfortunately no one can take these companies as they move out to another country like Philippines or remote workforce. The sad reality is IT is not for every one most of these folk are in project support, writing test cases or just a head count to bill the client.

    IN that 13000 people how many are really genuine people, i know of many managers who just play dummy role and live of the hard work of contributing employees, Lot of Mid level managers are completely political people who do nothing better than boot licking. Boot licking will take us only so much, what value do these guys bring in as being 8 to 10 years experience, some of them have complete disrespect for co-workers, they come up with all cheating schemes like unrealistic deadlines, putting the other employee in night shift whereas these guys come in Morning Shift. Karma is a bitch for these useless category of Mid- Level.
    But if the individual is a Genuine individual then it is worry some. But how many are going to hide under this genuine guise and how many are genuine is the question.
