I think when the introduce an all new sensor & all new image processor with major improvements, which probably will be more likely early next year and all new OM-1X introducing the latest and grades from OM systems with their new flagship and perhaps six months later after introducing X model, we’ll see an all new OM-1 MK3, hopefully the new flagship will come out earlier than I expect late this fall when the introduced the all new 50-200mm f/2.8 is pro zoom lens, let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Haha you are very positive! And I'm hoping they do something, but for me it feels more like a do or die situation this year. Expecting for the OM-3 just an old Olympus body with parts they already have and it will be too expensive compared to other camera's. The rumors are around 2k euro. The Fuji X100VI is 1799,- if you can find it ;) If you're a fan of the retro design, prob a better choice I would say :)

The current 20 megapixel sensor in the OM-1 is no slouch, but it is time to see all new sensor from OM systems showing significant improvement overall to keep its place in the market as being a serious competitor for the company to secure their future as a camera and lens manufacture, a minimum dynamic range improvement of one full stop & with four extra megapixels of resolution over the 20 megapixel sensor & with at least a half a stop of low light improvement over the current sensor that is used today,
I am very pleased with my OM-1 MK2, but that does not mean they should not make further improvements with future cameras going forward.

Totally agree, I'm hoping for some improvements on the system. The sensor is of course the main thing but improvements on the video side will also be very welcome. OM systems has it now for 4/5 years and we haven't really seen any real new developments. For the OM-3, I my expections are low, feels like they will do a mix and match with an old olympus body and the OM-2. Price seems to be quite high also

Hopefully with the new Vintage OM-3 they have made some big improvements with single point auto focus function over OM-1 that many Street and travel photographers have complained about, hopefully this camera is at least $400 cheaper than OM-1 MK2, I do not expect this camera is going to be a lot more cheaper than OM systems current flagship.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll introduce an all new camera late this fall with an all new sensor,Let’s wait and see.

That would be nice indeed! But looking at the teaser, I think we’re getting an analog design from the past :)

I’m not sure how well this camera will sell, I think this camera better potential to sell better if it had an all new sensor, even if it was only 22.5 or 24 megapixels of resolution, the fact that it has a scene 20 megapixel sensor that has been used for a past few years does not give me confidence that this camera is gonna be a good seller, M4/3 users want to see a resolution improvement over Olympus/OM system cameras that have been available for the past eight years.

I agree, the pricing will also be important I think, if it’s too expensive, it won’t sell, has to be the same ish or cheaper then the lumix S9 for example

It has my money. The megapixel thing for me personally is stupid.

Cropping is a thing 😆 I have the 100-300mm lens from Panasonic and I still want to crop. With 5 more megapixels, you can crop a bit more. But the more important thing is that I hope that OM Systems will actually innovate something but it seems like they will do just a mix and match of what they already have
